The ScrubLife
Hello Smogon, This is Exeggutor from the PS! server and this is going to be my first stall rmt. I never knew how to stall in 5th gen, I just couldn't get it right, But recently I found myself lucky enough to get into the Battling 101 program which paired me up with Captain Canada Iconic. Iconic has been a great help to me, and to my teams. Improving a couple teams and Helping me make this one from scratch, making nit picks here and there before it was even made. The team focuses on spreading para, Setting up hazards and letting Dragonite (The OG of Dragons) have a little fun with para shuffling. A solid defensive core paired with some wish passing and hazard support makes this team more then a little annoying to deal with. The team as of now has only lost once, and it was due to some major hax. F#%& hax. On another note, The Srucblife, or the title of this rmt, Happens to currently be my favorite mixtape from a rapper named wax, and all of the nicknames on this team are songs from the mix tape. Wax is a unknown rapper for the most part but still happens to be my favorite.
The team at a first glace.
Now on to the in depth
NSBAA (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Def / 184 Spd
Impish Nature
- Toxic
- Substitute
- Protect
- Earthquake
Gliscor is on this team simply to just be as annoying as all hell. with amazing typing, and even better ability, and the moves to abuse it, Gliscor is one of the most annoying Pokemon to deal with in the meta game currently. Toxic, Substitute and protect allow me to toxic stall some of those biggest threats that the rest of the team may not be able to paralyze or deal with other wise. Gliscor also serves as a good switch for the big threats like Terrakion and Lucario. 184 speed evs allowed me to out speed Adamant Lucario by 1 point. Gliscor is part of the defensive core and has very good synergy with the other members. Taking on a lot of the pokemon that scare the others. As for Gliscors nickname, NSBAA- Not so Bad At All, given to gliscor because he's well pretty much one of the best walls in the tier and is incredibly hard to kill
Old Ways (Dragonite) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Careful Nature
- Substitute
- Thunder Wave
- Dragon Tail
- Roost
Dragonite is the reason why this team was built. Every since I saw one of my friends use a similar set to this, I knew I had to use it. Sub and Roost is a deadly combination well you're opponent is paralyzed, pretty much always guaranteeing you to be around full health well you phaze them, Or even better behind a sub and at full health. With Multiscale activated and the given ev spread, Dragonite has similar special bulk to Blissey, which is amazing in it's self. Dragonites main 2 weaknesses, Ice and Dragon are easily taken care of by Jellicent and Jirachi. Jirachi is a big help to the success of the og by passing it wishes and being able to him. Always keeping him around full health. Dragon tail is the obvious move on this set as dragonite acts as the phazer of them, shuffling around his opponents and dealing damage at the same time. After a while hazards and dragon tail damage racks up and my opponents are put against the wall very quickly with usually no way out. The song Old Ways, Had to be given to dragonite really, as it's the oldest pokemon on the team, first in my though process and first in the pokedex, The original bad ass of dragons
Red (Amoonguss) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 40 SDef / 4 Spd
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Stun Spore
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Amoonguss is a vital member of the defensive core and the spreading of status to my opponents team, being able to paralyze and put them to sleep. Also blessed with amazing typing this little shroom can wall the likes of Keldeo, Politoed and Starmie, assuming Starmie isn't carrying a random psyshock. Also serves as a decent switch for some physical attackers. Spore and stun spore are used to spread status threw the enemy's team well giga drain is used for a reliable stab that gives recovery and hp allows me to hit dragons for a decent amount of damage (considering changing to HP fire so I can take forry and ferro easier). With the release of Regenerator Amoonguss has sprung for the nu tier all the way up to OU and it's leaving a dent in the tier, Being able to wall a lot of pokemon and stay alive for ever, it's quickly becoming one of the most annoying pokemon in the game to deal with. Red is one of the better songs of the mixtape and had to be given to the only red member of the team, and one of the better members.
Music And Liquor (Jellicent) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spd
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Recover
- Taunt
Jellicent serves as the teams spin block and is dragonite best friend when it comes to ice types. Being able to sponge ice beams all day. Scald and toxic seems slightly redundant on the same set but sometimes getting that burn is a beautiful thing. Taunt helps me break down other stalls teams and give them a little bit of trouble, well the 216evs in the defense allows me to tank physical hits for fun. Recovery is needed on this set to pro long jellicents life as it serves as one of the major outs for dnite, and it needs to stay around for as long as possible to keep my hazards up the whole game. paired with wish, jellicent can usually fill its job as a spin blocker for this team. sometimes it struggles to block spin but gets the job done for the most part. Music and Liquor was given to him because I personally thought the pringles guy aka jellicent, looks slightly like a drunk...
2010 till Infinity (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Iron Head
- Wish
- Stealth Rock
Jirachi is the teams stealth rocker and wish passer, one of the best support pokemon this team could ask for, great typing, resists dragon and ice and he can spread para for the team, which is needed for dragonite's success. Iron head is to be annoying with jirachi once things are paralized and stealth rock is to round out the hazards that I need for this team, I find toxic spikes aren't needed because of the amount of para that is on this team, if they are tell me. 252 hp and 224 spdef are used to be a back up special wall in tanking ice attacks for Dragonite. With a defensive core of Jirachi, jellicent, and ammoongus, I find that rain teams can barely do anything to this team, Rain also happens to be one of the most common teams right now abusing the likes of the therian forms and of keldeo. Jirachi is still one of the most annoying pokemon in the game to deal with and always will be with the para flinch combo. and it serves this team well. 2010 to Infinity, because jirachi will always be around in the ou tier, and if its not thats the day pokemon becomes scary.
Don't Need (Forretress) @ Shed Shell
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Spikes
- Volt Switch
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball
The last pokemon on the team is forretree, the every reliable, bulky bouncy ball of steel. Spikes are used to maximize the phazing capabilities of Dragonite and Rapid spin is used to make sure his mulitscale is still in tact when he decides to enter the battle. Volt switch is used to get some scouting well gyro ball is used to hit Terrakion and other things hard. paired with 0 speed ivs to maximize its power. Shed shell is used as an item in case I predict wrong, I'm still able to get my hazards up that way which this team heavily relies on. not much can be said about the bouncy ball except it does it's job well, and has since gen2. Don't need is the obvious name for him because i don't need entry hazards on my side of the field. They annoy me.
In conclusion
This has been my first real stall team this gen, took me a few days to think of, and a couple more days going over it with my tutor. Once again the team is based around trying to get dnite to shuffle everything around and racking up hazards. This team is really fun to play with and annoying to face, having like 4 of the most annoying pokemon in the metagame in my opinion. I'm hoping I can get more then a few suggestions out of this to make the team generally better. my record with it currently is around 20-1 with testing against friends and players on PS. 1 loss was due to some major hax, but a loss is a loss, thank you in advanced- Exeggutor
