Isn't my scarf pretty?

Hey guys this is my third or fourth RMT and by far my best team. I have always loved building stall teams but after playing for awhile they all ended up being the same team with one or two different pokemon. So I decided to build a balanced team that did not need weather or mind weather being around. But the main thing I wanted was at least two pokemon to abuse choice scarf because it is not used very much in today's metagame seeing as how everyone is using choice band and life orb trying to get more power. I thought that if, with the right support, I could hit them before the banded and life orb sweepers could hit me I would win, and luckily it has worked out so far. The team actually started off with a defensive core that I saw Superpowerdude post in the forums, and then I built my offense off of those three mons. Here's the team

Do you like my scarf?

Landorus-T (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- U-turn

Once I decided I was using choice scarf on a few pokemon I knew I wanted two that could hit hard without boosts and could outspeed the unboosted meta game with their scarfs. Landorus-T does both of those, with a scarf he reaches 137 speed which is fast enough to beat all OU except ninjask, electrode, and accelgor. This is the reason I chose the Therian over the old landorus, at first I was reluctant to give up the speed but after seeing that it still out-speeds everyone and gains 20 attack I couldn't resist. The EV's are for max power and speed, jolly is to be a little faster just in case. His move set is one you see on many Landorus. Edgequake for great coverage, superpower for those walls that are everywhere(pink blobs and ferro) it also hits steels such as lucario and heatran. Then U-turn, which is his most used move, I often switch into electric moves then U-turn on their switch to keep momentum in my favor. Landorus is my most important offensive pokemon, the damage that he racks up with U-turn throughout the battle is amazing. Intimidate is a great ability also, it works great against the many physical threats in the tier, switch in the U-turn out before you get hit, leaving the opponent at -1.

Haxorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Dragon Claw

My second scarfer, after Landorus I wanted basically the same thing stat-wise, another pokemon who could come in scarfed and outspeed everyone, then proceed to punch holes in the other team. Boasting a crazy attack I can't believe how little you see scarf-haxorus, his biggest downside is his speed and this fixes that problem. Mold breaker is almost as good as intimidate. So many people forget about it and try to switch their rotom not remembering it's about to die. The EV's are the same for Hax, allowing max power and speed, adament to pack a little more power. Outrage is a must have on physical dragons, earthquake is a great move paired with mold breaker, brick break hits the steels and pink blobs, and I use dragon claw in case there is still a steel left on the other team and I don't want to get stuck outraging against a ferrothorn while it sets up stealth rock or spikes. Haxorus is great for the same reasons as ladorus, it punches huge holes in the team and then runs as one of my defensive mons soak in the hits.

Jellicent (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Scald
- Recover

THE MVP OF MY TEAM, this guy is the reason this team works. He switches into so many moves I don't understand why I haven't put him on every team I've ever run. Leftovers is for staying power, even though with his ability and recover that's no problem. I have a triple water weakness which he uses to restore hp by switching into the scalds and hydro pumps that are all over OU right now. Politoed might be the most popular mon right now and he's useless against this guy. The EV's are from Superpowerdude's set on smogon. Taunt is there for the pink blobs and anyone who tries to set hazards in my face. WoW is his best move, crippling the other teams physical sweepers, scald is there for an attack and recover to stay around as long as possible. This guy is just a tank, he switches into any ice attack aimed at my scarfers, and water attack aimed at my water weaknesses, and switched into someone trying to spin. The amount of free switches he gets in a game is ridiculous. I switch in to a resisted attack and then spam Wow, at any given time the opponent has 2-3 burned pokemon thanks to him.

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Spikes
- Protect
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch

The second part of my defensive core given by Superpowerdude. This is an extremely average Forretress and I love it. Leftovers instead of shed shell for recovery, EV's are taken from smogon. The moves are common, spikes to get some hazard help, protect to scout and get a turn of leftovers recovery, rapid spin to keep hazards off the field, mainly for volc, and volt switch to keep momentum and get the advantage on my opponent, it also helps against the magnets. Forretress is on my team for the same reason anyone puts Forry on their team, he spins away the hazards that my Volcarano hates and he provides me with spikes and a dragon resist. He often gets 2-3 spikes up by switching into a predicted outrage. His fire resist means nothing with heatran in the wings and he can also tank many physical and special hits. A crucial member of this team.

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Roar

The third and final member of my three mon core. Leftovers so he stays around, flash fire is one of the best abilities in the game, EV's are for special bulk, calm nature to soften the special hits he's getting. Stealth rock is the best move in the game and a must have for every team, lava plume for STAB and chance to burn, protect to scout and get a leftover recovery, and roar to phaze out setup sweepers and walls. Heatran completes my defensive core perfectly, with the other two they absorb any attack aimed at my attackers. Heatran switches into fire moves and gets up stealth rock or helps Jelly spread burn, if I have all hazards up I'll use roar on slower mons to add up some damage. I don't really use him to much since he can't handle fighting or ground moves but he always gets his hazards up and absorbs fire moves which is all I ask of him.

Volcarona (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Hidden Power [Rock]

After having two scarfers and three defensive mon's I figured a special sweepers was needed to come in at the end and clean up. I was looking for a pokemon who could sweep after one turn of set up and I instantly thought of Volc. EV's are for power and speed, life orb is there because he isn't coming in until the end when I have in almost in the bag. Quiver is must have on any volcarano, bug buzz is STAB, I picked fiery dance for the chance of a SpA boost, and hidden power rock is for coverage. This guy HATES stealth rock so if he wants to get the free turn of set up Forry must clear the field. The idea is that my two scarfers have punched huge holes in the other team and my defensive core has spread status and put up hazards. After that I bring in this guy, get one QD, two if my opponent lets me then try to sweep. As weird as it may seem to say, this is my least important pokemon, most games Landorus and Haxorus have knocked everyone out and I never even bring him in.

Thanks for reading my RMT, I would greatly appreciate any advice or criticism. The defensive core is pretty set but if you have a better idea than I am running let me know, especially Volcarano I don't really use him that much.

This is a pretty interesting team you got here bro.

Since your not sure about Volc, try another sweeper that appreciated the same synergy. Dragon dance-Dragonite can be just as an effective sweeper and the use one 2 dragons can overwhelm most teams. Dragonite also appecaites hazards up and spin support in the wings. That would require that you forgo scarf-Haxorus though for a choice banded or dragon dance version to more effectively weaken teams. It can also work the other way with dragon dance Haxorus, with Dragonite weakening up teams for it as well.

Also I feel normal Landorus or scarf-Terrakion may be a better scarfer for the team. The reason I say this is because Landorus-T can not revenge Salamence at +1 speed because of it's naturally higher speed, while those can. The power loss is negligible ironically (its less than a life orb boost) and the speed it worth it. Terrakion can also provide a more effective stop to threats like Volcarona or dragons to kill with rock slide for sure, but it may not be worth the u-turn loss.

I would also suggest toxic on Heatran either over roar or protect to make sure you can actually kill of Volcarona in the end game as well as crippling many switch in pokemon.

Dragonite (F) @ Lum Berry Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- ExtremeSpeed

good luck

After going over your team a few times I've noticed a few things that need to be fix.

Your Volcarona is completely walled by other Heatrans, change it's hidden power
to ground. And another thing is the Haxorus set, brick break is good in the sense that it destroys reflect and light screen but Haxorus would much rather enjoy superpower. The raw damage is needed to get past the likes of Ferrothorn.(2hko) And in the rare scenario you come across a low hp Pokemon behind a sub Haxorus would much rather have duel chop over dragon claw.

On a side note I think you should really think about how you'd plan on dealing with rain teams. I seriously doubt Jellicent is going to stall out an entire rain team by itself.

On a final note, Landorus-T doesn't bring much to your team besides intimate and an immunity to ground moves. His 91 base speed really holds him back from out speeding common scarfers Personally I'd run scarf Hydreigon in his place. It's another dragon to the roster but I'm assuming you have Landorus-T to punch holes through things or U-turn out...well Hydreigon does that too only he's a bit faster.

Hydreigon (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
- U-turn

Hey man nice team I am glad my core has gotten a little recognition the combo of those three WALL EVERYTHING!!!! Except for Thunderous-T while being able to preform common support tasks e.g Hazards setting, status spreading, rapid spinning. I also really like the concept of this team in using the core to help support blazing fast offensive mons.

First off Hidden Power Ground>HIdden Power Rock on Volcarona because of the notable KO it gets on Heatran and Hp rock doesnt really offer to much recovery wise. Also the abundance of rain teams and the fact that you are running Life Orb on Volcarona makes Giga Drain>Bug Buzz A great option as Tyranitars are growing more scarce so the loss of stab isnt missed especially as it helps Volc get some Suprise Ko`s in rain once it has got a quiver dance or two because westwen is right in a metagame surrounded by rain Jellicent cant be your only check especially with Thunderous-t floating around. Plus the Hp recovery you get with a life orb Giga Drain is insane!

Also your team could go with a late game cleaner aside from Volcarona due to all the hazards support this team gets. Scarfmence>Haxorous comes to mind as this poke can pick up moxie boosts quite easily if you have hazards up while still attaining blazingly fast speed. If you are going to use Scarfmence you should keep Landorous-T imo as it helps counter terakion. Thanks for giving my core a try and coming up with a creative team! For those to reasons I think you desevre a Luvdisc! Also welcome to smogon :)
