The Unscrupulous Tiering Director Tournament - Round 4
Signups / Round 1 / Round 2 / Round 3
If you haven't heard, we've decided to revise Smogon's tiering system. Everyone knows that the OU council is run by people who don't actually play, and suspect tests are just ban-happy bandwagoning fools who don't appreciate what Blaziken and Shaymin-S contribute to the metagame. Our new system will be a democracy: everyone will have a say. The Unscrupulous Tiering Director Tournament Rules: Standard OU rules apply - No Ubers - Evasion Clause - OHKO Clause - Sleep Clause - Species Clause - Drizzle + Swift Swim Clause - Moody Clause - Wifi Battle - Timed Battle This is a BW2 Tournament. Battles are to be played by default on Showdown, but can be played on PO if both people agree.
Sign-up Instructions
Whatever you ban will remain banned for EVERYONE in the tournament--that is, until you lose. If you lose in this tournament, you will be deemed unqualified to act as a tiering leader and will be assassinated by Smogon administrators in the middle of the night. Your bans will be revoked at the beginning of the tournament's next round. You may ban something even if other people have already banned it. Bans enacted by multiple people will remain in effect until all people with the same ban are eliminated. You cannot change your bans! Nobody likes a flipflop tiering leader. Substitutes' bans will not take effect. Substitutes will adopt the bans of the players whose positions they take. --- I have included the banlists both in the form of a spreadsheet and in hide tags below. Notable bans (does not include everything): - Drizzle (Politoed) and Drought (Ninetales) are banned; all other forms of inducing weather have been unbanned - All entry hazards are still banned. - Spore is still banned. - Scald is still banned. - The only two remaining item bans are Rocky Helmet and Eviolite. Meloetta, Genesect, and Shadow Tag Gothitelle are all banned, seeing as they did not exist at the beginning of this tournament. Notable unbans: - Auto-sand has been unbanned. - Choice Scarf has been unbanned. Say goodbye to basic Speed tiers. - All non-OU Pokemon are available for use, including Zurusukin. - A bunch of BW2-exclusive threats have been unbanned, including Keldeo, Breloom, Tornadus-T, and Amoonguss. Thundurus-T remains banned, though. - Draco Meteor and Outrage are unbanned now, along with every Dragon besides Dragonite. - Hidden Power is unbanned now. Activity wins: 50. DC. vs 106. Evil 76. Ginku (Ninetales / Spikes) These two battlers are known more for their prowess (or lack thereof, in Ginku's case) in the lower tiers; however, both have proved that their abilities transcend all metagames, Ginku having somehow made it to the finals of several recent tournaments, and DestinyUnknown having landed a spot on Spain's WCOP team. Will Ginku hail in the start of a new German era of dominance, or will DestinyUnknown show him who the true European power is? 116. Lady Bug (Jirachi / Baton Pass) vs 62. myzozoa (Thundurus-T / Baton Pass) Lady Bug has been in a highlight match every round I think. But he hasn't sent me any logs so fuck him. (Stealth Rock / Jirachi) Small tournament champion Heist is like the old man who sits in the park and plays chess with random people every day. Will this be that match, or will Heist hold onto his coveted position? 69. Zebraiken (Thundurus-T / Spikes) vs 93. toshimelonhead (Substitute / Spore) Longstanding tournament player toshimelonhead faces the newer yet on-fire Zebraiken.
