Team Tournament - R3: Engineer Pikachu vs. Dogfish44

Status
Not open for further replies.
Please do not post in here if you are not me, Engineer Pikachu, or Dogfish44.

Rules:

- 5v5 Triples (Positioning OFF)
- ASB Arena
- All Abilities
- No Items
- 5 recovers/5 chills
- 2 Substitutions
- 2 Day DQ for battlers, 2/3 Day DQ for refs
- Self-KO clause; in the event of a double KO to end the match, the Pokemon that KOed itself through whatever means (self-KOing move, energy exhaustion, etc) loses.

Both battlers chose Switch=OK, so that's what we'll do!

Arena:
Arena: ASB Tournament Arena
Field Type: Neutral
Complexity: Simple
Format: All
Restrictions: No Restrictions

Description: Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about 4.5m wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is 24m wide, 33m long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than 18m). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen. Today, we have a truly spectacular match! This is the triples match of the tournament between The Carnivorous Apples and Team Cruel Brittania. On the left, we have our resident Poison-type gym leader, Engineer Pikachu:

Engineer Pikachu:
376.png

Metagross (Hagane) (U)
Nature: Careful (Special Defense increased by *, Special Attack decreased by *)

Type: Steel / Psychic
Steel STAB; Immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.

Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Clear Body: (Innate) This Pokemon’s body structure makes it immune to status lowering moves used by opponents. (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.)
Light Metal (Unlocked): (Innate) The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Priority is applied to the summed Base Attack Power of a multi-hit move (e.g. Double Kick has priority at 6 BAP, Skill Link Bullet Seed doesn't at 15 BAP.)

Abilities:

Fidgit (Shokoli) (F)
Nature: Quiet (SpA increased by *, -10% Evasion, Speed decreased by 15%)

Abilities:

(Innate) This Pokemon has a great affinity for odd field effects. When it uses one of these effects it increases their duration. Moves affected are Gravity, Heal Block, Lucky Chant, Magic Room, Safeguard, Trick Room, Tailwind, and Wonder Room by an additional one (1) round or three (3) actions depending on the move.
Vital Spirit: (Innate) This Pokemon has a high vitality and alertness making it immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Its normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action.
Prankster (Unlocked): (Innate) The Pokemon is always prepared for engaging in sneaky tactics and trickery, giving its non-damaging attacks an increase in priority level.

As expected, Engineer brings 5 very powerful Pokemon with ridiculously bloated movepools. This should be good! On the right, we have another high profile battler, the Electric-type gym leader Dogfish44:

Dogfish44:
474.png

Porygon-Z [Data] (N/A)
Nature: Modest (+1 Sp.Atk ; -1 Atk)
Type: Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:
Adaptability (Innate):The moves that match this Pokemon’s type have their Base Attack Power increased by two (2).
Download (Innate): At the beginning of the match, the Pokemon analyzes the opponent and downloads data that lets it deal more damage. This Pokemon receives a one (1) stage increase on the offense that strikes an opponent’s weaker defense stat. (e.g. does more damage with special attacks when facing Aggron, which has higher defense, and attack when facing Hypno, which has higher special defense. For ties, Special Attack is raised.) This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
Analytic (DW) (Innate): If this Pokemon attacks second during an action, its attacks have two (2) more Base Attack Power.

Type: Dark/Dragon: Dragon STAB; More in touch with legendary or special auras in arenas. Able to use Hyper Beam and Giga Impact without losing focus. Dark STAB; Immunity to all telepathic and telekinetic attacks, better performance in all darkened and especially twilight conditions. Can use any Dark-type attack regardless of Attraction.

Abilities:
Levitate (Trait): This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Dig, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. All other Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.

Nature: Mild (+SpAtk -Def)

Abilities:
Ability 1: Motor Drive (Innate) - This Pokemon nullifies any electrical attack damage and converts the energy from any electrical attack (inc. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts..
Ability 2: Vital Spirit (DW) (Innate) - This Pokemon has a high vitality and alertness making it immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Dragon STAB; more in touch with legendary or special auras in arenas. Able to use Thrash without losing focus.

Abilities:

Static: (Innate) This pokemon’s body is surrounded by an electric field that has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that use contact moves on this pokemon.
Overcoat (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. Dogfish44's Pokemon seem equally powerful! This match will definitely be one of the highlight matches of the entire tournament. How lucky are we? I wonder who will emerge victorious, and who will fall just short of the win...

In a few moments, both battlers will send out their first three Pokemon (PM me your choices please). Once those Pokemon are sent out, I will flip a coin to determine who goes first! Good luck to both of you, and may the best battler win~

Here we go... It looks like both battlers are finally ready to start! With 6 Pokemon being sent out at once, this is bound to be interesting!

Everyone looks ready to go, and all at once, the action starts! Fidgit moves before anyone can react, using a tricky Skill Swap that shoots out beams at Tentacruel, Electivire, and Cyclohm to switch around the abilities of the Pokemon. Heh, I wouldn't expect anything less from a Pokemon with Prankster. Tentacruel then launches exploding sludge at Electivire using Sludge Bomb, which deals minor damage to the Pokemon. Both Electivire and Cyclohm shoot out a Thunderbolt at Tentacruel... Hmmm... it looks like it didn't do anything? Actually, I think Tentacruel must have been given Electivire's Motor Drive ability, because it's looking much faster than before. Metagross uses this opening to slam into Electivire in an impressive Giga Impact. Krilowatt then unleashes a flurry of bubbles using a Bubble+BubbleBeam combination. It looks like it even dealt a critical hit to Tentacruel, and did some good damage on Fidgit. I would have expected Fidgit to be slowed down by the attack, but it looks as though it stole Cyclohm's Shield Dust, so I guess not.

Metagross, despite its sluggish state, just spewed out an Icy Wind that hit both Cyclohm and Electivire, though Krilowatt manages to dodge it. I think the ice slowed both Pokemon down, since Cyclohm is lacking its Shield Dust ability. Metagross must have been able to move faster than normal due to its Light Metal ability. That's probably why its Giga Impact from earlier was a little weaker than I expected. Anyways, Tentacruel just shot out a huge blast of water with Hydro Pump, and it hit Electivire head of for some nice damage. Electivire tried to retaliate with a ThunderPunch, but that only further increased Tentacruel's Speed. Fidgit then took the opportunity to nail Electivire with an Earth Power, leaving it pretty badly weakened, while Cyclohm's Shock Wave failed to deal any damage to Tentacruel.

This is looking pretty one sided right now, but who knows? The battle is only just beginning.

Engineer starts out by recalling Metagross and Fidgit, and he sends out his remaining Pokemon, Aerodactyl and Colossoil!

As Electivire is running low on HP, Dogfish44 immediately orders it to use Protect, and instantly it forms a barrier around itself. Krilowatt then rams into Colossoil with Aqua Jet, causing it some damage. Tentacruel must still be feeling the effects of Motor Drive, because it manages to react before everyone else and fires an Ice Beam at Cyclohm. Aerodactyl then pours some rocks on Dogfish44's team with a Rock Slide, and Colossoil does the same. Electivire's barrier holds strong, but Krilowatt and Cyclohm take some pretty hefty damage from the two blows. Cyclohm manages to focus through the barrage though, and summons up a hailstorm using Hail. Chunks of ice have started pouring down on the arena! And it hurts! Everyone but Krilowatt and Cyclohm are taking damage... those two must not be because of their Magic Guard and Overcoat abilities.

Electivire, moving before everyone again, shoots a blue bolt at Cyclohm..? It looks like Cyclohm is getting a power boost, so I'm guessing that was Helping Hand. Tentacruel then shoots another Ice Beam at the dragon, while Aerodactyl and Colossoil rain more rocks down with Rock Slide. Oh! Both Krilowatt and Cyclohm appear to have flinched from all the rocks... To make things worse, the attacks did enough damage to make Electivire faint from the hail.

Man, this is looking bad for Dogfish44. Can he turn things around..?

Arena: Hail (3r)

With Electivire down, Dogfish44 recalls Cyclohm and sends out Porygon-Z and Hydreigon to take the field! Hydreigon prepares to go on the attack, but before it can, both Tentacruel and Aerodactyl hide in the water and air respectively. Hydreigon then rains some of the rocks Aerodactyl and Colossoil were using before down on Colossoil with Rock Slide. It doesn't look like it did that much damage, but I guess it caused Colossoil to flinch[/b]. Krilowatt then uses Muddy Water, though it only hits Colossoil. Porygon-Z releases a brilliant Psybeam at Tentacruel, but it doesn't manage to hit it deep down in the water. Suddenly, Tentacruel comes up and smacks Porygon-Z with Dive, and Aerodactyl slams into Hydreigon with Fly. The hailstorm that Cyclohm conjured up is still going on, and it seems to be affecting everyone bar Krilowatt.

Tentacruel cleverly takes advantage of the storm by summoning a Blizzard to strike all of Dogfish44's Pokemon. Aerodactyl then uses Rock Slide again, and it looks like its caused Porygon-Z to flinch. Hydreigon uses Rock Slide as well though, and uses all the rocks that Aerodactyl just made against it. Colossoil manages to work through the barrage this time, and strikes Hydreigon hard with a Megahorn attack. That looks like it did some heavy damage... Krilowatt tries to cover its ally with another Muddy Water, and I think it scored a critical hit on Aerodactyl. At the end of the round, the hail takes its toll again. Everyone seems to somewhat worn out at this point, especially Hydreigon. What will happen next..?

Arena: Hail (2r)

Dogfish44 orders his Pokemon to do whatever they can do to damage the opposition. However, before they can react, Colossoil uses Fake Out on Krilowatt, while a Blizzard from Tentacruel and a Rock Slide from Aerodactyl cause Hydreigon to faint. All Porygon-Z can do is boost itself with Agility, and Krilowatt just flinches. The hail continues to drop down and hurt everyone except Krilowatt.

Tentacruel then soaks the remaining two Pokemon in Muddy Water, which causes Porygon-Z's accuracy to fall one stage. That doesn't stop it from using Protect on Krilowatt though, which it throws up just in time, as both Aerodactyl and Colossoil start using Rock Slide again. Porygon-Z just took a lot of damage to spare Krilowatt, and it seems worth it as Krilowatt unleashes an intense Sheer Cold+Blizzard combination that thoroughly batters Engineer Pikachu's team. What a crazy move! As the hail continues to fall, everyone is looking pretty beat, especially Colossoil, Aerodactyl, and Porygon-Z.

Arena: Hail (1r)

As the battle starts to draw to a close, Tentacruel dives back into the water. Good timing for it, as it causes Porygon-Z to miss with Pain Split. Aerodactyl launches more rocks on the opposition with Rock Slide and manages to knock out Porygon-Z, while Colossoil follows Tentacruel's suit and digs underground. This was also a wise move, as Cyclohm lets loose a mighty Blizzard that definitely would have fainted Colossoil if it had hit it. Aerodactyl unfortunately cannot escape the icy blast, and is knocked out. Krilowatt sits there cooling down from its combination, but suddenly Tentacruel hops up out of the water to smack it with Dive, and Colossoil emerges from the ground to strike using Dig, knocking it out. The hail continues to fall in the arena, damaging both of Engineer Pikachu's remaining Pokemon, but it doesn't look like it'll make a difference at this point.

With just Cyclohm left standing on Dogfish44's side of the field, Tentacruel and Colossoil mercilessly pick off the dragon with a Blizzard and Earthquake respectively, knocking it out and securing the win for Engineer Pikachu. The hail falls down to damage the two left standing one last time, but both Tentacruel and Colossoil manage to stay standing. The sky then clears, and the battle is officially over!
