Hello everyone! I am here to post another future Pokemon team I thought up myself. It was a real brain teaser to think up which Pokemon would be best to put in. However, after alot of thinking, the Pokemon team is ready to be rated and ready for action.
Let's get started on presenting my Pokemon team, shall we?
Metagross
Nature: Adamant
IV's: 31/31/x/x/x/31
EV's: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spe
Held Item: Occa Berry
Meteor Mash
Hammer Arm
Bullet Punch
Stealth Rock
First up is Metagross. This Pokemon is able to sharply damage opposing Pokemon and put up Stealth Rock. No Pokemon trainer will take this Metagross lightly.
Meteor Mash is it's signature move with it's huge power along with the STAB bonus and a chance to increase it's Attack. You can never have a Metagross without this move.
The move Hammer Arm may lower Metagross's speed, but it is useful for hitting Pokemon that are resistant to Meteor Mash like Ferrothorn and Heatran.
When the opponent is low on HP, Bullet Punch can finish it without letting it use it's final move. This move works really well for battling fast Pokemon.
Like I said, Metagross can set up Stealth Rock as an entry hazard to the opponent since it can also take hits really well. When Stealth Rock is up, my Pokemon will not have a problem with Focus Sashers.
It also holds Occa Berry to take a strong Fire type from the opponent like Infernape and Ninetales. However, it will not have much effect if the Fire type move was a critical hit.
However, there are threats that are a concern when using Metagross. Ground and Fire type Pokemon mostly have an advantage to this Pokemon. But the biggest threats for Metagross is Volcarona, Charizard and Moltres. These Pokemon can completely shut it down if Stealth Rock is not on the field. Once they are on the field, I instantly switch Metagross for another Pokemon.
Haxorus
Nature: Adamant
IV's: 31/31/x/x/x/31
EV's: 36 HP/252 Atk/220 Spe
Ability: Mold Breaker
Held Item: Lum Berry
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Dragon Dance
Taunt
Haxorus is the physical sweeper for this team. With it's huge attack along with Mold Breaker that can hit Pokemon with Levitate and Pokemon with Sturdy and with this moveset. Haxorus can pulverize opponents when used at the right time.
Dragon Claw is the STAB move for Haxorus which can leave a gash on Pokemon. I chose Dragon Claw over Outrage because Outrage can lock Haxorus into one move and can leave itself vulnerable to other Pokemon. So despite Dragon Claw having less power than Outrage, it can still be a problem for my opponent.
The other powerful move is Earthquake. This gives Haxorus more type coverage and can leave non-flying Electric, Fire, Rock, Steel and Poison types hanging. Especially those with Levitate like Rotom, Eelektross and Gengar.
Dragon Dance can put Haxorus up to it's full potential. This is the reason why Haxorus is a great Pokemon.
Taunt can stop Pokemon that can stall and set up entry hazards so they can only use attacks to it.
Haxorus can still be stopped though by Ice types and opposing Dragon types who are faster than it. Skarmory and Ferrothorn can be threats to Haxorus because they can fight back with a powerful move when taunted so I have to be careful and not take any risks on just using Haxorus all the time.
Chansey
Nature: Bold
IV's: 31/x/31/x/31/x
EV's: 252 HP/216 Def/36 Sp.Def
Ability: Natural Cure
Held Item: Eviolite
Seismic Toss
Thunder Wave
Toxic/Aromatherapy
Softboiled
What's this? Chansey instead of Blissey? Why's that? Well, let me tell you. With the held item Eviolite, Chansey has more defense than her evolution. Not only that, she has a great supporting moveset as well.
Seismic Toss is the only move for Chansey to do a fixed amount of damage depending on her level. Since alot of trainers have Pokemon that are level 100, the move can do 100 damage for every time it is used. Great move if you ask me.
The move Thunder Wave cuts opposing Pokemon's speed by half and there is a chance for them to be paralyzed and miss a turn. Useful for stopping sweepers.
The third moveslot can either be Toxic to take down some stalling Pokemon or Aromatherapy to heal all status problems on my team. Both are really good moves but I slightly think Toxic is the better choice. But I'll leave you trainers to decide on that one.
Finally, Softboiled is for restoring HP if things get bad for Chansey.
Chansey is a great choice for the team. However, there are threats that can take down this Pokemon with ease. Fighting type moves for starters are super-effective to it. But Conkeldurr is the most feared. The reason is if Conkeldurr is paralyzed or poisoned, it might have the ability Guts to maximize it's attack and wipe out Chansey with one single punch, enough to make the Pokemon scrambled. Gliscor is also another threat if it has Poison Heal. It will instantly wall Chansey and can set up Swords Dance to start sweeping. The move Trick is also a problem if the holder is holding a Choice item. If that item is held to Chansey, she will become crippled and only use the move chosen.
Starmie
Nature: Timid
IV's: 31/x/x/31/x/31
EV's: 6 HP/252 Sp.Atk/252 Spe
Ability: Natural Cure
Held Item: Life Orb
Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Rapid Spin/Psyshock
Here is the special sweeper in my team, Starmie. This Pokemon is not to be messed with because it has a great amount of Sp. Atk. It also has great type coverage against other Pokemon.
Hydro Pump is Starmie's best move since it's a STAB move. It uses all of it's might to try and flush out Pokemon with the help of Life Orb. Fire, Rock and Ground types will be OHKO'd by this move.
Ice Beam can take down Flying, Grass and Dragon types like Salamence and Breloom.
Thunderbolt is another move for better type coverage to opposing Water types.
The last moveslot is another choice. There is Rapid Spin to wipe out entry hazards on my side of the field or Psyshock to take down special walls like Blissey. Again, it's a tough choice but Rapid Spin can be more effective for the team.
Starmie does have it's threats though. The types this Pokemon is weak against is Dark, Ghost, Bug, Grass and Electric. Starmie will have trouble if any of these Pokemon types are out. The Pokemon does not have much defense unlike the other members on my team. So there could be a chance it can faint after taking a hard hit from a tough Pokemon. Especially a Choice Banded or Scarfed Pokemon. Despite this, Starmie can be a great asset to my Pokemon team.
Chandelure
Nature: Modest
IV's: 31/x/x/31/x/31
EV's: 6 HP/252 Sp.Atk/252 Spe
Ability: Flash Fire
Held Item: Leftovers
Flamethrower
Shadow Ball
Substitute
Calm Mind
Not only Chandelure has great amounts of special attack but it can also take hits pretty well. This is why I chose this moveset for the Pokemon.
Flamethrower and Shadow Ball are both STAB moves with good type coverage against certain Pokemon types. Grass, Ghost, Psychic, Steel and Ice types.
Chandelure can make a decoy of itself by using the move Substitute to protect itself against status inflicting moves and certain hits that are super-effective against it. With the Leftovers recovery, it is destined to play long games.
And then there's Calm Mind to raise it's stats. It might also have a chance to sweep the opponent's Pokemon team if used correctly.
With the ability Flash Fire, it can take any Fire type hit it faces.
With that said, it's time for it's threats. Chandelure will not be able to take Water, Ground, Ghost, Dark and Rock type moves really well. It can also be a victim to Taunt and Trick as well because when that happens, Chandelure won't be able to set itself up and create Substitutes. And that will be a problem for it.
Heracross
Nature: Adamant
IV's: 31/31/x/x/x/31
EV's: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Ability: Moxie
Held Item: Choice Scarf
Megahorn
Close Combat
Stone Edge
Pursuit
Last but not least, here is my Choice Pokemon. With Choice Scarf, it can almost outspeed any Pokemon that is not Choice Scarfed and with the ability Moxie, it becomes more powerful every time it knocks out a Pokemon. Very dangerous in my point of view.
Megahorn and Close Combat are both STAB moves to it and deals a great amount of damage to the opponent.
Stone Edge is for more type coverage for Heracross. It's great for taking down Fire, Flying and opposing Bug types.
If there is a Pokemon that is weak against Heracross and is going to switch for another Pokemon. Pursuit inflicts double damage to it.
Even though the Choice Scarfed Heracross is the fastest Pokemon in the team, speed isn't the only thing to look at. It's the threats that can easily take it down as well. Fire and Psychic types like Victini are a concern if either Stone Edge or Megahorn misses. If that happens, Heracross could be a sitting duck...or...stag beetle. Gengar with Disable can make this Pokemon struggle before the move wears off. Lastly, paralysis and burn can shut Heracross down to a minimum because both of these status inflicting problems will slow it down on it's tracks.
And that is my new Pokemon team so far. Not what I have in mind but it's worth a shot to battle with.
Please let me know if there are any improvements I need to make to my future Pokemon team in order to make it better.
Thank you for reading and happy battling! :)
