Hello! Although it's pretty obvious, I'm a first time poster here on Smogon. I've been battling on simulators for a while now, but never really got too deep into it. Well, now that finals are almost over I figured now would be as good a time as any. So, without further adieu, here's my first take on a rain team:
[size=+2]Team Building Process[/size]
[size=+2]Team Analysis[/size]
Politoed @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def*, 4 Spe
Bold* Nature
-Scald
-Ice Beam
-Protect
-Toxic
Originally, Politoed was specially defensive, but the change to physically defensive has been great. He is able to Scald Tyranitar with much more effectiveness now, hopefully burning it and hindering its usefullness. The moveset was kept the same to deal with dragons with Ice Beam, as well as bulky water types with Toxic + Protect.
*Tornadus-T @ Life Orb
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Timid Nature
-Hurricane
-Focus Blast
-U-Turn
-*Hidden Power Ice
I decided to switch Torandus to his Therian counterpart with the suggestion of CyberOdin, and I've gotten much better results. A Life Orb boosted Hurricane is not significantly different from Tornadus's Petaya Hurricane, and Tornadus-T checks a larger part of the metagame and is able to keep momentum on my side thanks to U-Turn. Heat Wave wasn't really effective, as it did less damage to most things than Hurricane already does, so I changed it to HP Ice to counter dragons and the other genies more effectively.
Scizor @ *Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 2548 HP, 252 Atk, 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
-Bullet Punch
-Superpower
-Bug Bite
-Pursuit
Bulky Scizor just doesn't cut it in today's hyper-offense metagame, so I switched his set to CB Scizor, and it's been a great change. He packs enough power to break down a huge portion of the metagame, especially ice types that give this team some trouble. Bug Bite is for annoying grass types that think they can wall me, and Pursuit has been amazing to trap things like Gengar and Latios, who have been pretty popular to run into.
*Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP, 232 SpD, 24 Spe
Calm Nature
-Giga Drain
-Toxic
-Recover
-Stealth Rock
Specially defensive Celebi is an absolute beast in Rain, primarily checking Breloom as well as Jellicent and other annoying pokemon to this team. Toxic allows me to, combined with Politoed, break down a lot of walls that would normally be able to wall this team. Giga Drain + Recover can be a deadly combo, forcing her counters to deal a pretty hefty amount of damage to actually KO her. Stealth Rock is there simply because nothing else on the team is going to run it.
*Landorus @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Modest Nature
-Earth Power
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power Ice
- Rock Polish
Sheer Force Landorus is a scary threat to face. He is primarily on this team to ensure sun teams don't run through me, but he is deadly on his own after a Rock Polish. Earth Power just does some insane damage, and Stone Edge and HP Ice provide excellent coverage.
Keldeo @ Choice *Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Timid Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Secret Sword
-Hidden Power Ice
-Surf
Probably the slot I'm least sure about, Keldeo still packs quite a punch. Hydro Pump is insane in the rain, and as long as the opposing team doesn't have a water absorber, is going to hit for a ton. Secret Sword is perfect on Blissey and any other special wall predicting a Hydro Pump, and HP Ice is for flying and dragon types that resist his other moves. Surf is there just in case I need a guaranteed hit. I changed Specs for Scarf after removing Garchomp, and he has become an effective revenge killer.
So, there it is, my first RMT. I'm not sure if I got all the formatting right since this is my first post, but I've seen a lot of other RMTs so hopefully I didn't mess it up too bad. Let the comments begin!
Also, I'm not sure how to resize pictures yet, so bear with the gigantic pokemon for now.

I started out with a very interesting Tornadus set I'll get to later in the post. I knew if I wanted to make full potential of Tornadus, I needed rain to abuse max accuracy Hurricanes. So, in went Politoed
[pimg]186[/pimg][pimg]671[/pimg][pimg]212[/pimg]
Next, I needed a physical sweeper that could pair with Tornadus. Bulky SD Scizor has been my favorite OU set for a long time, and is even more effective in rain.
[pimg]186[/pimg][pimg]671[/pimg][pimg]212[/pimg][pimg]677[/pimg]
I needed a pokemon that could take rock type attacks aimed at Tornadus, as well as a pokemon that could pack some more power than what I had now. So, specs Keldeo seemed like a perfect choice.
[pimg]186[/pimg][pimg]671[/pimg][pimg]212[/pimg][pimg]677[/pimg][pimg]628[/pimg]
Ferrothorn was put in next to shore up my physical defense, and is a beast under rain. Also my entry hazard setter.
[pimg]186[/pimg][pimg]671[/pimg][pimg]212[/pimg][pimg]677[/pimg][pimg]628[/pimg][pimg]450[/pimg]
I knew I needed a revenge killer for my last slot, and when looking at my attack types, I noticed dragons can give me some trouble. Garchomp fills both roles nicely, and his Earthquake is a great check against steel types that think they can switch in.
