The Ref's Mind: The mind is a powerful thing, so its time we used it to maximize the opportunity to have interesting battles! The battlers have somehow found themselves inside the creativity center of the referee, and they are at his mercy! the ref can make anything happen, and controls all aspects! from the arena setting to the accuracy of moves to the color of the pokemon! for example, the first round might be in an volcano, and if a player uses a bug type move twice his opponent will lose 10 energy! the match can be as simple or as intense as the ref wishes. "The battle in the "ASB Arena" begins with Seth firing a ball of fire at - wait, Seth? The slowest of the group? Something's odd, wouldn't you say? Hmm? A Trick Room came out of nowhere? Strange... (>:]) Anyway, Seth fires a Will-O-Wisp at Marquis, but it goes sailing off into oblivion. Marquis retaliates with a Rock Slide, sending rocks at Seth and Lir and knocking both off the feet they don't have. Lir, escaping from the rocks, fires a Beam of Ice at Dame, whose high speed has become a handicap in this tricky room. Dame recovers quickly, however, and gathers Air in front of its wing, before Slashing it at Seth.
"The little Litwick retaliates with a Flame Burst at the Scratchet, splattering both of SimonSays' Pokémon with firey embers. Marquis absorbs the blow, though, and Focuses all his Energy on scoring critical hits. Lir fires a Hydro Pump at Dame, who sends a Wave of Thunder back at the Jellicent, speeding him up by slowing him down in a tricky room.
"The now super-speedy Lir attempts another Ice Beam, but is sadly too paralyzed to pull it off. Seth helps out his partner, though, by Blasting the Togekiss with Fire. Marquis uses Rock Slide again, scoring critical hits on both Seth and Lir, while Dame scores a legitimate crit on Lir with Air Slash (*cough* Super Luck *cough*).

"The Pokémon continue to battle in the strange vacuum, while my voice booms out of nowhere, commentating the match. Dame opens the match off by gathering Air (which there apparently does seem to be some of) on her wing and Slashing it at Seth, causing him to flinch. Lir seems outraged at the attack, and fires a Beam of Ice at the Togekiss, freezing it in midair. Fortunately, her brand-new Levitate ability seems to be helping keep her aloft - if indeed there is any gravity in this same place. Marquis sneaks past Togekiss, however, and his Super powerful punch is enough to knock Seth out.
"Lir, now positively outraged at the Scratchet, fires Scalding hot water at him from somewhere within his beard. Marquis responds with another Punch, Draining some of The Jellicent's health!
