Description: Here at the Ampers&ium, there is a big & in the middle of the arena, which looks like the ASB Tournament Arena, but what goes on in the arena is heavily influenced by this &. Basically, what this & does is buff everything with & in its name, by move, species, ability, & item. No nicknames, though. Otherwise, go nuts with that Rank 16 Attack Choice B& Rampardos you have always dreamed of using, or that Hippowdon/Excadrill combination for lots of & fun! ^_^

Mechanics:

  • The Ampersand in the arena creates an aura which buffs everything with "and" in its name.
    • The Moves: Helping-Hand, Sand-Attack, Sandstorm, & Sand Tomb, all cost 1 less Energy to execute.
    • The Pokémon: Chandelure, Charmander, Landorus, Mandibuzz, Sandile, Sandshrew, Sandslash, & Stoutland, have the EC of all their moves reduced by 1.
    • The following Abilities get the following buffs:
      • Sand Force now boosts the power of Rock/Ground/Steel-Type moves by 3.
      • Sand Rush now triples the Pokémon's Speed.
      • Sand Stream costs 3 less Energy to activate.
      • Sand Veil's 20% Evasion boost is now flat.
    • The following Items get the following buffs:
      • Binding Band now triples the residual damage dealt by trapping moves.
      • Choice Band now doubles the holder's Attack.
      • Focus Band's -2 BAP effect now applies at all times irrespective of the holder's HP.
      • Muscle Band now increases the BAP of Physical attacks by 2.
      • Power Band no longer halves the holder's Speed & now triples the Sp. Defence boost.
      • RageCandyBar's boost is now permanent until the Pokémon switches out.
      • Rare Candy increases the highest true base stat of Atk/Def/SpA/SpD by a further Rank, & the increase to the BAP of STAB moves is increased by a further 1 BAP.
      • Soft Sand now increases the final damage of Ground-Type attacks by 6.

While Whacamole immediately digs a deep hole into the arena S&ssin (seriously who even names their Pokemon that I think you're missing an "ass" otherwise it just sounds like "sand ass" ¬_¬) begins storing energy, soaking up the two attacks that Dogfish's powerful Pokemon smash it with. Of course Whacamole surfaces and bumps into Meiosis dealing some random amount of damage that we don't really care about.

Then while our friend Sandassin (there is no way I am pressing shift-7 that many times) continues to store energy the little Diglett moves around as fast as its little mole body can move—which is actually pretty fast—and makes several illusory clones. Fortunately for Dogfish he isn't incredibly unlucky for once and manages to strike the right Whacamole on his second try!

Things, of course, immediately go south for Dogfish because that's just how his ASB life is; Sandassin explodes all of his stored energy in a rage that rivals Dogfish when those 0.001% chances come to fruition, just barely knocking Meiosis out. Remember how I said we didn't really care about how much damage Whacamole did to the green blob thing? Well, I lied. Regardless, Harold fights on bravely and deals incredible damage (for a jet of bubbles) to the Diglett, managing not to get itself flinched by it. Dogfish can't be that lucky, though, and indeed he isn't; Harold gets crit by Rock Slide![/box]

In a shocking turn of events luck actually goes Dogfish's way, as the Combee heroically sets up a Tailwind despite the many rocks being chucked its way by an overly angry mole. Naturia fires off a boosted Hidden Power that deals absolutely tremendous not really damage to Buzzie, who is unduly affected by having rocks thrown at it.

Then Dogfish's team manages to launch an offensive, with Buzzie hanging on for dear life as Naturia manages to be almost completely useless again. And then Naturia gets blasted by an attack that deals ridiculous damage for a Combee. The most astounding part is still to come, however; Dogfish manages to win a speed tie, allowing Buzzie to escape getting knocked out and knock Whacamole out itself!
