Fun In The Sun And No Rum

I decided to try and put together an OU Sun team. I was satisfied with the results of my first RMT when I just wanted to casually play but now, I'm looking to be able to win more consistently. With that, here is team Fun In The Sun:

Ninetales (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 124 HP / 132 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Overheat
- Power Swap
- Protect
- Will-O-Wisp

Ninetails serves as the lead for my team. It brings the sun on to the field as soon as it’s summoned. That gives it a formidable STAB Overheat, allowing it to OHKO anything that does not resist it. Protect allows it to scout the opponents move set and Power Swap can catch Volcarana off guard when it uses its Quiver Dance. Will-O-Wisp is available for Pokémon that might resist Overheat, allowing for some residual damage.

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Fire Blast

Tyranitar can be a revenge killer or defensive muscle. If Politoed has come in and Ninetails is knocked out, Tyranitar can offset the rain summoned by Politoed. His STAB Crunch gives Latios and Starmie something to think about. Fire Blast can take pretty good advantage of Ninetails Drought. Stealth Rock is always viable since no Pokémon resists it and Ice Beam provides some good coverage.

Sawsbuck (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Horn Leech
- Jump Kick
- Megahorn
- Wild Charge

Sawsbuck takes full advantage of the sun. Choice Scarf Latios can’t counter it and Tyranitar is, at worst, 2HKO’d by Horn Leech. Jump Kick is available if Chansey/Blissey wants to wall it. Wild Charge provides an option against Flying type Pokémon who don’t have a dual Ground typing. Megahorn rounds out the coverage, able to at worst 2HKO anything that doesn’t resist it.

Swampfire (Infernape) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- ThunderPunch
- Mach Punch

Infernape adds some more speed and STAB Fire and Fighting prove useful for what I commonly run into. Toxicroak likes to switch into Sawsbuck but Infernape can come in and usually 2HKO it with Close Combat. He's also useful for his priority STAB Mach Punch. Overheat provides needed Fire STAB, though Flare Blitz could be a better overall option.

Darmanitan (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Brick Break
- Flare Blitz

Darmanitan is able to deal with the Ground types who want to take it out with STAB Earthquake and deal with Dragonite, who likes to switch in, using its Rock Slide. Flare Blitz is an OHKO on anything that doesn’t resist it. Earthquake provides valuable coverage vs a range of types, most notably against other Fire types.

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Trick
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Surf

Latios rounds out the team. Its STAB Draco Meteor is able to deal with Dragonite, Salamence, Hyrdreigon and Haxorus. Surf is a viable option to deal with a rain team as well as Tyranitar. Trick enables Latios to transfer its Choice Scarf onto another Pokémon and use its moveset in full, provided it doesn’t steal another Choice item. Hidden Power Fire ensures it won’t be stopped by Scizor.

I think the team is pretty good but I'm open for constructive criticism and suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I feel that you should run iron fist on infernape as it provides extra damage on mach punch and thunder punch. Sawsbuck should have nature power (earthquake) instead of wild charge. The biggest change i would make is replacing darmanitan with specs gothitelle.

Gothitelle @ Choice Specs
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Trick

I dont know how well T-tar fits on this team. When you said "Fire Blast can take pretty good advantage of Ninetails Drought." I got confused: as soon as you sedn out T-tar, the prevailing weather will be sandstorm and none of your pokes are built to operate that way. also with infernape, swap overheat with flare blitz; it just doesnt hit hard enough without EV investment in spattk.
