My OU sand team (>o.o)> (The kirby face is awesome xD)
Introduction:
As the name says I've named that team ''Revenge'' because I have two revenge killers on it.
The reason that I'm doind that post is because my other two teams weren't my style of play, that after proving many teams in bw2 I saw that was more like offensive than stall.
See my other two teams (one of them wasn't rated =d):
Sand team: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3482261 (Peaked 1350 at PO)
Balanced Weatherless team: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3477954 (Peaked 1325 at PO) and (1570 at Showdown).
I've been playing balance for about.... Two years? Yeah, probably for about two years, when I started playing pokemon competitively.
In fact that wasn't a bad idea, that team is balanced too, but I think that my other teams were more balance-stall than offese so the only thing I was doing it was changing pokemons every time.
Another thing I have to say is that I tryed Hyper Offense too, but since Deoxys-D isn't OU now I feel that Hyper Offense teams are not the same and are ''a bit hard to play'' in my opinion.
Probably the rank that I normaly have at PO (1200-1300) /Smogon (1500) isn't the best, but I feel that I'm not bad at playing but I don't really have ''imagination'' when I do a team because that every team that I do looks standard and has smogon sets ( and I want to improve at making teams in every tier ).
After saying this I'll starttalking writing about my team:
The team:
Teambuilding process:
The first version:
Tyranitar (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Fire Blast
First of all because my other sand team had Hippowdon so I wanted to give Tyranitar a chance in BW2. The bad thing about Tyranitar is his type.
Landorus-T (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Gravity
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
I tought that a good partner for Tyranitar was Landorus-T, so I put it into the team.
Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 28 SAtk / 232 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder Wave
- Pain Split
Rotom-W is in every team that I use (that or Celebi). Most of sand teams use the Tyranitar/ Landorus/ Rotom-W core, so I tought It was a good idea to use team in my team because of the BW2 metagame.
Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Charge Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Because of my experience I tought that Rotom-W wan't enought to defeat other walls like Jellicent, Vaporeon or Slowbro, so I tought that magenzone was a good idea. Also magnezone was able to trap Scizor, wich is common.
Alakazam (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
I saw that gastrodon was going to be a trouble because I had no grass moves, so I tought that a Alakzam with Psyshock was the best way for me to solve that. Also Alakzam is capable to hit other walls with Psyshock which is good.
Salamence (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
Alakazam was my stallbreaker, but I tought that I needed something more, a late game sweeper, so that's why I chose Salamance.
Salamance has a incredible stat atack and also a good dw ability. I think that salamance is onw of the best late game sweepers nowadays.
The second version: (the changes)
A closer look:
Tyranitar (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Fire Blast
First of all. Why tyranitar? Because my other sand team was with Hippowdon and I wanted to give a change to Tyranitar in BW2.
Tyranitar is my lead, and my weather induced, witch is great. That tyranitar is know by everyone who has a Lati@s beacause is the main counter of that pokemon(s). That's why I always choose that set when I try to use Tyranitar.
Another thing that I have is Fire Blast beacause I have no spinner. With Fire Blast I can do some Damange to some lead liek Ferrothorn or Forretress that have Stealth Rock. If I use Fire Blast and I don't miss my opponent won't be able to use Spikes (unless he changes and then he uses spikes in another turn, but that's obvious).
Pursuit not only help with Lati@s. It helps too with Celebi, that is common, (but most of them have Batton Pass).
Also Crunch can hit Ninetails / Politoed with prediction If you have no other options.
Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Dual Chop
Garchomp is one of my favourite Dragon in OU nowadays. It's good to see Garchomp back =DDD.
Garchomp with the Choice Scarf version is a good revenge killer, a good late game sweeper and my Dragon checker, wich is good beacase Dragons destroy my team when Magnezone is dead. Also Magnezone can't take a Earthquake or a Low Kick but can take a boosted Fire Punch for Dragonite. The problem is that Magnezone can only OHKO him if Multiscale is broken. If I have a lot of problem I can sacrifice it and then send my Alakazam and revenge kille it with its Hidden Power [Ice].
Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Charge Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Magnezone, Known as ''The treapper''.
Magnezone is my steel trapper and sometime my sweeper. Yes, my sweeper, when I have a +6 SpA thanks to Charge beam and the opponent's Ferrothorn that was only using Stealth Rock and Spikes xD.
At +6 If the opponent doesn't has a Garchomp or a Breloom with Mach Punch is dead.
That pokémons helps me to deal with rain teams, wich is the a good and also to hit some water pokemons like Jellicent or Vaporeon.
Magneone can also resist Tornadus Hurricane's stab move, but Tornadus has Focus Blast. Anyway, is a good check.
Landorus-T (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Gravity
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
''Be Ladorus my Friend'' Said Tyranitar.
Landorus is one of the best parnerts for Tyranitar beacause of It's typing, defense and ability. It can wall the biggest threat for a sand team wich is Terrakion (in my opionion) and kill it.
Also you will notice that I'm not using the current Ev spread and that's beacause with the 112 Ev's in Speed and the + Spd nature I can otspeed Toxicroak with is a threath in that team and I wanted to solve that.
Also I can outspeed Dragonite and check Volcarona, wich is a threat too, and hit them with Stone Edge wich is cool but has only 80 acc.
Alakazam (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
As I said before, Alakazam is my revenge killer and also my wallbreaker.
Alakazam is perfect for my my team. With Psyshock I hit Walls like Blissey and Fighting types like Keldeo or Breloom.
Then, I have Signal Beam to hit Celebi.
Focus blast is to hit trappers like Tyranitar with can deal some damange with Pursuit ( That's when I say ''Pleeaaaaaaseeee hit Focus Blast, hit''). Most of the time I'll change If I don't know if it has Pursuit.
And Hidden Power [Ice] is to hit some dragons liek Dragonite or Salamance wich are a trouble for me sometimes.
In fact I could say that Alakazam is the pokemon that CHECKS EVERYTHING in my team. The problem is that If Alakazam is dead I have to think a lot =d.
Focus Sash is so pro =DDD.
And finally I have Rotom-W, Know as the ''The Washing Machine''
Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 28 SAtk / 232 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder Wave
- Pain Split
Rotom-W is the only wall I have to deal with rain (magnezone isn't a wall), but I don't think that iss't a problem beacause as I said ''Alakazam CHECKS EVERYTHING''. Well knowadays I don't a lot of problems, I'm not the best at teambuilding too LOL.
Thunder Wave is a good chance to cripple some pokemons liek Lati@s with is the best Rotom-W counter nowadays.
Hydropùmp is good to deal with some pokemons like Landorus (even in sun). The problem is that Rotom-W get's walled by subtoxic Gliscor If I miss a Hydropump.
And Finally I have Pain Split and no HP [Ice] beacause Alakazam has HP [Ice] and Magnezone cand outspeed Gliscor. The problem will be the substitute.
A final look:
Ah, and the importable version, ofc:
Importable:
You can keep the name or not, It does't matter, but If you like rock/ metal you can check the names on youtube there are the name of some songs =D.
And now listen to the song I'm listening If you want =P.
And for ladder rememeber that the best way to win is to rest =D.
All the changes will be in RED.
Feell free to rate my other teams If you want =D It will help me to improve that team or others.

Changing Alakazam's item to Focus Sash:
Alakazam (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Alakazam was my stallbreaker, but I needed something to defeat some threats, so I tought that giving Focus Sash to alakazam was going solve that problem. Alakazam saved me a lot of times.
Changing Slamance to Garchomp:
Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Dual Chop
You will think, why? Because with Rocks up I wasn't able to switch into Salamance a lot of times and the only think that was doing is using Outrage at the end of the battle and Garchomp was RESISTANT to rock, so that as going to help a lot.
Also with the combination with Tyranitar and Garchomp I was able to OHKO every dragon type, because Tyranitar can Wall Latios most of the time and Garchomp can OHKO some dragon types in OU but has trouble with Dragonite and Scarf Garchomp.

Alakazam (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
