Baby Metagame

I believe that having a Baby metagame would be a very nice and interesting addition to the metagame. The Rules, in my opinion, are simple

  • Has to evolve
  • Has to be lowest form
  • (Maybe) Pokemon who couldn't evolve in a previous generation are not eligible
Quite a few pokemon work differently then their evolved forms, and base stats are different and would make for an interesting new metagame, if analyzed correctly and set rules were made.

By "couldn't evolve in a previous gen", I think you'd need that to be "couldn't evolve in 3rd gen". Otherwise, things like Porygon wouldn't be eligible.

Little Cup is for you, then. There's a thread on it, here. It's kinda cool, but it's more than just babies, they must be level 5 or under.

They have something like this in PBR, has to be level 5 and NFE. It's fun. Of course certain things like Scyther would be banned.

Yeah, certain things would be banned. By rule number 3 Sneasel and Aipom (who would be dominant sweepers) are banned, Scyther would be banned by clause, and a few others.

Actually, Charmander would be so much better since it's a little bit faster (65 base compared to Gible's 42). Wasn't Dragon Rage/Sonicboom banned from little cup, though?

Oh jeez. Abra and Cranidos get banned (same attack as Heracross on Cranidos...)

Dragon Rage and Sonicboom are banned (though Seismic Toss/Night Shade should still be allowed as they do 5 damage).

Also, since all Pokemon are level 5, they can only have moves they get from the Move Tutor, Egg moves, or TMs. Unless they learn a level up move before Level 5. Also, I think EVs are banned, since you can't EV train a Pokemon really when it's level 5.

Last I checked, Set Damage moves were banned (Sonicboom, Dragon Rage, Seismic Toss, Night Shade)

and it doesnt have to be AT level 5, since you can set wi-fi battles to lvl 100, that woudn't be effective anyways, plus, most people here use shoddy anyways and lvl 100 should be no problem

Well there was a set of Little Cup rules on a different forum and that was the consensus reached. I'm pretty sure those are the typical rules.

You can ev at level 5 just fine when you hatch at level 1.

And you can breed normal levelup moves onto babies as long as both parents have the move.

Suprised no one mentioned Larvitar. Guts + decent offense with good STABs make him threatening indeed. >_>;

I love the diea. My Teddiursa owned a couple of pokemon :D, even some of the OUs. Of course it has counter which pwns. I once took down 3 pokemon with it alone :D

mantyke/munchlax./happinyy would prevail, having either really high hp or really high sp.df.
Two of those pokemon you just stated have any use. Happiny is absolute crap as it cannot use the calm mind boltbeam or seismic toss stratigy that blissey uses. Even though I really REALLY hat to say it, mantyke is inferior to munchlax (:'() as far as special walling goes. Munchlax has insane stats for little cup and is gifted with curse to boost it's stats in the same vain snorlax can.

ah, A snorlax family member is useable again, Oh the nostalgia.

I have a whole box on my Diamond game that is devoted to Little Cup pokes. With Exp Share and vitamins and whatnot, you can pretty much fully EV train level 5 pokes so they are as powerful as possible for Little Cup. It's tedious but doable.

And yes, Cranidos and Abra are sick.

Abra, Ponyta, and Cranidos (same attk as metagross ffs) are banned. Munchlax is too iirc. Seismic Toss and Night Shade are still allowed.

There was a thread on another forum filled with pages of me arguing Scyther for LC Uber. They eventually just banned everything with a base stat over 100.

Medicham, Huge Power Azumarill, and DeepSeaTooth Clamperl are banned in most LC metas, Thick Club Cubone I'm not sure about.
