My OU team with the best starter ever!

Hi there, and welcome to my RMT. I hope you will enjoy your stay, and help me to improve my team! I probably overlooked something anywhere, so if you can help me point it out, I will appreciate it a lot!

Here we go!

Just for a little nitpicking, I'd run U-turn over Hidden Power Fighting. You'd be a madman to try and 2HKO Tyranitar with Hidden Power when it can easily take you out with Stone Edge, and with the growing popularity of Careful 252 HP / 252 SpDef CBTar leads, you'd be in for a sad, sad surprise. The team actually looks pretty solid, but personally I would run CB on Heracross, since you lack something that hits really hard.

But when I change HP to U-turn, I can't hit Heatran anymore... just to name one. You're right about Tyranitar, it isn't worth it, and I will switch out when I encounter one.
I also like the speed a lot on Heracross, IMO it is just to slow without to work effectivily. I might consider it... but again you're right about my team not having something that hits really hard.
Hmm, teambuilding is as hard as ever again... ^^

My team does amazingly well on Shoddy =)

And I added a threat list so you guys can rate my team even better! ^^

Any ratings are welcome, please feel free to post!

i say U-Turn over Flamethrower. It actually looks like a solid team but you might want thunderbolt on starmie as well for CBDos if HP Elc does not kill. U-Turn allows you to hurt tar and get out of the Stone edge although I don't like jirachi being the only way to take it. CBTar actually hurts your team but with hera you should be okay. Watch out for Deoxys since its speed and wide variety of attacks can hurt the attackers of this team. I guess Jirachi and Spiritomb handle this but Maybe Jirachi wants Body Slam on his set to give more paralysis. Then you could consider Choice Band on hera since they should be paralyzed.

You can't say "the rest are 2hko" because those that survive, will probably fuck you, example: Gyarados Stone Edge, Zapdos Thunderbolt, Aerodactyl Stone Edge. Switch.

Anyhoo..

Provided that Gyarados isn't the starter, it will without a doubt sweep the whole team. Simple as that. DD here, Taunt there, DD again, Waterfall here, let's Taunt here, maybe use Splash, DD again, sweep some more. I'd do subtle things to fix this. The easiest of course would be to add Thunderbolt onto Starmie.

Another issue we're going to see is SubCMJirachi, who seems as if it can destroy the team or at least leave it ridiculously handicapped. There's not really anyway you can remove this threat immediately short of adding a Tyranitar, which would only work over the Heracross spot. If not, use your own CMJirachi or try a CMSpritomb to take it 1 on 1.

Heracross could be annoying as well. Obviously there's no clear cut way to stop all these issues, but the closest thing would possibly be Dugtrio, who could revenge kill various threats. Gliscor can help against Jirachi and Heracross.

Jirachi is great. But I do think it'll work more effectively with Salamence. As Salamence could be the hardhitter you miss on your team. Next, Jirachi can expand the lifespan of salamence with wish and covers all of Salamence's weakness and salamence covers Jirachi. Those 2 as a team together is a solid one. I'm just making a suggestion so you don't have to take salamence if you don't want it, just don't feel offended please.
Jirachi can wall some but I do think that you can add a better SR physical waller such as skarmory or forretress. There are alternative routes to cover the psychics as you already have a blissey as special wall.. Spiritomb doesnt fill some special role here. So mayb switch it for a nice Sweeper. Overall a nice team.
Well thats what I have to say for now

Kind regards,

Gary

Zapdos actually ohko's Hera with a drill peck, and stone edge doesn't kill the bulky Zaps. I forgot if Zap is faster than hera, but I always remember the joy of OHKOing the poor little bug.

As far as I can see, decent team. I have the feeling that I've played you before on Shoddy.

Thanks for the ratings all!

Hmm, I guess I'll put Hidden Power Fighting back on Moltres for Heatran, and U-turn over Flamethrower, which I don't use that much anyway.

And to deal with Gyarados I will replace Ice Beam with Thunderbolt on Starmie to see if it's a big deal. I will lose some dragon coverage... Will this change be worth it?

I don't know about switching Scarf to Band on Heracross... The speed is so much what it needs... Anyone else has an opinion about this?

@ Aeroblacktyl: You're right about my 2HKO'ing. I'll U-turn against them and see what they throw at me from now on.
I don't think Hera is that much of a problem. It won't do much to Jirachi, since there aren't much versions around that carry Earthquake. Also Moltres can outspeed it (even Scarf) and OHKO it.
SubCMJirachi might be a problem yes. But I'm not replacing a Pokemon for only one specific threat... I'll just have to see how I handle it when I encounter one. Or do you have an easy solution to the problem maybe?

Oh, and I really like Spiritomb in my team. It blocks Rapid Spin, I can switch into Fighting/Normal/Psychic attacks with ease, and it spreads burns really easy. It can also hurt a lot Pokemon with the right prediction, which isn't that hard with a Spiritomb =)

Again, thanks for the ratings, and please continue to help my team!

Changes in the OP are bolded.

Just for future reference...

383 attack vs 280 defense, 120 power(*1.5), 404 max HP: 43.81% - 51.49%
383 attack vs 280 defense, 120 power(*1.5 *1.5), 404 max HP: 65.59% - 77.23%

Scarf and Band against your Jirachi.

As for the Jirachi thing, you can try to fit in Light Screen on Blissey, that way it's safer to switch in Moltres into Jirachi, and then take a Bolt for half of what it normally does, break it's Sub, and scare the bejesus out of it.

~ You say that 'you don't fear Ninjask' yet Protect carrying variants totally and utterly screw you up. Mostly due to your lack of a phazer. Please consider.

~ You say that status isn't a problem, but you lack anything to reliably take sleep. What do you do when Breloom comes out? Sure, you can just predict the Spore and let Starmie/Blissey take it, but then you'll have to switch out ASAP or it'll kill you. And then, of course, it's free to sleep something else. Aromatherapy or potentially ReSTalk something (Probably Hera) would help with that.

~ I'm sure that your lead works very well, but bear in mind that the vast of Gengar leads are Scarfed, so you'll still lose to the no.1 lead. Of course, it's not the end of the world as you can just switch to Bliss, but I'm the nitpicky type.

~ Lol walls. You'll have an awful lot of trouble breaking them. Banding Hera would certainly help, though then you still will probably have problems with anyone who runs Gliscor and adequate special walling capabilities.

~ You're relying on Jirachi for an awful lot of physical walling stuff. That's fair enough as you've covered most of your bases pretty well (Apart from Taunt DDTar, which is the one that immediately jumps out at me as being problematic, as well as maybe Heracross) However, you might want to consider losing Stealth Rock, sticking it on something else, and using Protect to give him a bit more longevity.

~ Otherwise, pretty nice :) Props for Moltres usage :p
