The Dark Knight, really if you haven't seen this movie you are missing out on one of the finest pieces of cinema in the past 30 years. Not only is this a perfect adaptation and interpretation of the Batman universe, but it is a gripping crime drama for the ages. The Film takes on concepts of anarchy, self righteousness, true evil and the ability to fight that evil. Of course Heath Leger's Performance is a stand out and one of the best movie villains of all time, but the entire cast pulls out the best in themselfs. Aaron Eckhart as two-face shows how the slightest push can send a seemingly flawless peron into insanity. The Joker pulls you to the edge of your seat and never lets go while he's on screen. Every word, every movement makes you fall into his psychosis. The Joker in this film is the pure embodiment of evil, and chaos, he creates chaos just for the sake of it, to try and push people to his level of insanity and create mass hysteria -- which he does very easily. Christian Bale reprises his role as Bruce wayne/Batman and pulls it off flawlessly, his posture and tone in speaking perfectly reflects the cocky rich guy attitude, while still being able to show something deeper than that, as Batman he shows the frustration of living with the pursuit of the police and politicians as a vigilante. This relates back to one of the central themes of the film, whether a hero with a face, whom the public can admire and look up to is better than the faceless hero who acts like symbol of justice, but lacks the identity of one who is in the public. The opening sequence which introduces the joker, is quite possibly one the best, if not the best, bank heist scene ever, rivaling that of "Heat". The Dark Knight is a gripping crime drama that never stops building up the suspense for a tragic ending. it's a perfect film in every which way.
