All hail the KING!(dra) Standard RMT
Team all hail the KING!(dra)
Intro:
Hello everyone at Smogon, this is my second Rate My Team, and i believe this is one of my best teams to date. But, like every team, it still has flaws, and so this is why i brought it to you people in these forums. As you might be able to tell from the title, this team is about giving kingdra a clean sweep without anything hindering him from doing so. I came to the idea of making a team around Kingdra when i was looking through the tier lists to find a pokemon to build my team off of. I got very frustrated after a while of browsing because mostly everyone uses a lucario or most of the other cliche'd pokemon as a foundation for their team, and i couldn't find anyone, but eventually Kingdra popped into my head. I thought he could do a superior job due to his improved movepool, and a sole weakness. (dragon) After a long while of constructing this team, I tested it on shoddy and it did really good, but i still feel i have flaws. Please rate!
This is a mainly offencively based team, meant to pick off oppenents quickly and end the match fast, as opposed to heavy stalling. (changes are in bold!)
In depth look:
Swampert (M) @ leftovers *** Trident
Ability: Torrent
EV's: 240 HP/ 216 def/ 52 spa
Relaxed nature (+ Def, -Spe)
-Earthquake
-Surf
-Roar
-Stealth Rock
Swampert is whom i have chosen for my lead. He gets the rocks up 99% of the time, due to the taunt leads, and can also serve purpose for another wall if he survives to later in the game. (which he usually doesn't, but thats why i have porygon2). He has some nice resistances and a decent movepool, with a main weakness to grass, which is usually taken by Jirachi or Scizor. The only thing that makes me think twice about putting swampert on a team of mine is that he has no recovery move, But again, his sole purpose is to get rocks up, and Porygon2's job is to wall.
The EV's are the standard mixpert set EV's, Giving me 401 Hp, 297 Defence, and 219 Special Attack, still leaving me with an impressive 256 Attack for doling out Earthquake when needed.
As for the moves, Stealth Rock is so i can get some damage on those switching in. Surf is there for STAB purposes, also to shoo away lead Hippowdons.
Earthquake is there for leads such as infernape and metagross, but metagross usually blows up in my face before i can do anything, but sometimes i get lucky and switch to Rotom-C at the right time and watch him epicly fail. On infernape i also have to be careful of grass know, but not many lead-apes carry that . i picked Roar over Ice Beam because i needed somewhat of a phazer, as set up-ers were getting the best of my team in some cases. Ice Beam is mainly absent from this set because of the phazer need of my team, and because Porygon2 handles the dragons.
I chose the nickname "Trident" because alot of people use "Posieden" as a nickname for Swampert, and i love that one, but i wanted something different this time around.

Machamp (M) @Leftovers *** The Rock
Ability: No Gaurd
EV's: 108 Hp/ 144 Atk/ 252 Def/ 4 Spe
Adamant nature (+ Atk, - Spatk)
-Dynamicpunch
-Payback
-Rest
-Sleeptalk
Machamp is a solid and new member of my team. He replaces Weavile, and isn't a revenge killer, but he's a great bulky sweeper who can still kill ghosts and psychics like weavile did. The rest-talk set has been one of my favorite sets on him for the past generations, as well as alot of other people. This set allows him to absorb status very nicely, even willowisp doesn't bother him. No gaurd makes Dynamic punch never miss, and thats a great help since it confuses the target 100 % of the time, making it harder for big enemys such as gyarados and salamence to set up on my team.
The EV's given allow his stats to be: 348 Hp, 364 Attack, 257 Defence, and 147 Speed. I used this spread for the rest-talk set because it makes him more solid defence-wise. He may not have as much Hp, but this spread works as good, if not better than the standard one. The 4 speed EV's are important to him because it allows him to outrun blissey, while being able to take beatings from tyranitar and rypherior.
Moving onto his moveset, Dynamicpunch is a base 100 power move that gets STAB, making it extremely powerful. It never misses with the No gaurd ability, which is great, and it confuses the target everytime it hits. Once they're confused, they only have a 50% chance of attacking, which is really great, especially when they are trying to set up on me. Payback hits ghosts, and psychics, most noteably those pesky rotom appliances that love to switch in on machamps dynamicpunches. Rest makes machamp a great status absorber, being able to take and status condition and rest it off, while at the same time restoring all it's hp. Sleep Talk allows me to hammer out dynamicpunches and paybacks while im asleep, which is awesome.
"The Rock" is his nickname, because he's an all out contender and is really powerful.

Jirachi @ Life Orb *** Wishmaker
Ability:Serene Grace
EV's: 80 Hp/ 252 Spatk/ 176 Spe
Timid nature (+ Spe, - Atk)
-Calm mind
-Grass Knot
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
This little guy is my main special sweeper. He was recommended to me by "ancien regime" as a replacement for heatran. At first, i was a bit reluctant to change heatran, as i would have no sure way of countering scizor, but it all worked out for the better. This set doesn't really abuse the Serene Grace like almost every other set does, but it sure as hell brings out jirachi's ability to be a great special sweeper, especially since people expect the scarf/ physical sets nowadays. The life orb is for boosted power while not being locked into one move all the time. I used a timid nature to get the most speed out of this with the EV's given as i can. He works great by absorbing grass attacks for swampert, also. Over all, he works great on my team.
With the given EV's, jirachi reaches: 361 Hp, 299 Special attack, and 308 Speed. The hp is for surviving while calm minding up, and is a leftovers number of 22, with a chance to use it 9 more times if it takes no damage(which wont happen due to life orb). The special attack goes way up because of the life orb and calm mind boosts it even farther, not much to say there. The 308 speed allows me to outspeed un-dragon danced gyarados' and 1HKO with thunderbolt.
Jirachi has a pretty versitile movepool. Calm mind allows me to raise my Special Defence and Special Attack to do some damage and take a hit or two, Psychic is there for STAB reasons, and to get fighting types to thier knees. Grass knot is to get those bulky waters and ground types, Swampert for the most part. For the last slot, i have thunderbolt, which takes care of Flying types, and waters.
"Wishmaker" the name of his movie. maybe i'll think of something better soon..

Poryon2 @ Leftovers *** The Ugly Duckling
Ability: Trace
EV's: 252 Hp/ 216 Def/ 40 Spatk
Bold nature (+ Def, - Atk)
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Thunder Wave
-Recover
This little duck is what holds my team together. Litlmc01 suggested this to me, along with Rotom-C, and, as always, i was a bit reluctant of doing the changes. But i decided to give them a try, and they worked! I originally had Blissey in Porygon's place, but after thinking it over, i don't need a special wall as much as i thought that i did. After i switched to this guy, i began screwing over all sorts of pokemon, namely Salamence, Gyarados and heatran. Also, earlier today, i was facing my oppenent on shoddy when they had a dugtrio out, and they launched an Earthquake at Jirachi. I swapped Porygon2 in, and he took the hit like a beast. Then, he realized that he couldn't escape because i traced his "Arena Trap", and KO'd him with Ice Beam. Blissey can't do that! This guy is just what i was looking for.
The Ev's set me at 374 Hp, 297 Defence, and 256 Special Attack. The Hp is to ensure maximum surviveability, and so i can take some hits while recovering. The defence, while it seems mediocre, is accually great, but because of his ability. Trace cuts the attack of intimidators like top of the line threats such as gyarados and salamence, making them close to useless. The 40 EV's in special attack is for some extra power, and to ensure the 1HKO on gyarados and salamence. Nice.
Porygon2's a very important member of this team, so he has to have a great movepool to go along with it. Thunderbolt is to deal with gyarados mainly, but it also puts other bulky waters in their place, if they dont invest the majoraty of their EV's in special defence. Ice Beam is like automatic pest control for dragons, and ground types alike, 1HKOing the majoraty of both types which is great, considering there are alot of each type out there. I orginally had Toxic over thunder wave, but after a while i realized that it didn't help with getting Kingdra's sweep on the way. Thunderwave cripples sweepers from being able to set up or sweep in general with ease. Recover is there so i can regain health, and keep my tanking ability's at top notch, while at the same time taking down some major threats.
Cmon' you've all heard of the ugly duckling right?

Rotom-C @ Choice Scarf *** JohnDeere
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 4 Hp/ 252 Spatk/ 252 Spe
Timid nature (+ Spe, - Atk)
-Leaf Storm
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Trick
This guy is quite the handy tool to have around!(no pun intended) With its 3 immunities, and 5 resistances, this things only weak to dark and ghost. I used to have a Rotom-S in his place for taking out fighting types such as mixape. But then Litlmc01 told me that on fighting types, my stabbed thunderbolt it only 3 damage points away, and that i should switch to Rotom-C instead. So i did. It was no suprise that this worked as good if not better than i had it described to me. On his set, it allows me better coverage with only 3 moves, and he has trick. He may have the same stats as the other Rotom variations, but he works a lot better than any of them would for this team.
With the EV's given he reaches 298 speed, and 309 special attack. Before i go in depth with this, i would like to complain about the 19 point speed drop in the rotom appliances. whats up with that? Ok, now that thats settled, The 298 speed is pretty puny, but with a scarf, it hits 447 speed. Now thats outrunning everything unscarfed/boosted barring ninjask.(in OU) This allows him to effectively counter mixape,( the majoraty don't have scarf.) and gyarados after a dragon dance, or maybe even two, depending on how many EV's are put in speed.
I think that Rotom-C has a very nice movepool to go along with his unique typing, so i'm taking advantage of it. The most crucial move in this set it leaf storm, because it can rid the feild of swampert and hippowdon. Anything that doesn't resist it will get a big chunk taken out of them because of it's impressive base power of 120. Thunderbolt tames gyarados and bulky waters that don't invest in special defence, so i can avoid the stat drop of leaf storm. It also helps kill off skarmory, which is a big help. Shadow ball gets rid of ghosts, and hits everything for neutral damage aside from normal, dark, and steel types. Last on the list, my favorite move of the set, is Trick. God i love this move. If i'm facing a wall like skarmory, swampert, blissey hippowdon, ect. then i can trick my scarf onto them. If you don't beleive me, then ask them how they feel about having a scarf. They hate it. Trick can sometimes win me the game if i use it at the right time, by cuasing a switch out, then depending on who's out, i can switch in someone else (prefferably kingdra) and set up for a sweep.
"johndeere" you guys get the joke, right? RIGHT?! 0_-

Kingdra (M) @ Life Orb *** Neptune
Ability: Swift Swim
EV's: 252 Atk/ 240 Spa/ 16 Spe
Lonely nature (+ Atk, -Def)
-Hydro pump
-Rain Dance
-Draco meteor
-Waterfall
Ok, time to tell you about the star of the show. He was originally a Dragon dance kingdra, but after it got suggested, I started using the rain dance set. This thing is 10 times more powerful and dangerous as the Dragon Dance set is. It's easier to set up, too, which is a huge help. The idea of this set is to get in, rain dance on the switch, and begin to sweep. Normally, if you use hydro Pump or Draco Meteor, people will switch to their special wall, leaving it open for a waterfall to ruin it's day. It could be the reverse way, too. I've killed off many-a-skarmory by having them switch into a waterfall only to be Hydro Pumped to their death. It's just insane. I thank the creator of this set for making it, i love it.
The EV's given bring me to 317 attack, 286 special attack, and 210 speed. While the attack seems mediocre, the base power of the moves in the rain are incredible, which i'll talk about later, but it still packs a big punch, especially with life orb to assist it. With the special attack EV's given,(in the rain) Hydro pump 1HKO's Scizor, 252Hp/0 spdef fortress and skarmory, while having a chance to 1HKO metagross with max Hp. With the speed, he can outrun modest scarfed porygon-z's and timid scarfed heatrans.
As for his movepool, Rain dance makes sure he can outspeed a number of things, mainly the ones listed above, but some others, too. Hydro Pump in the rain outclasses anything in the OU physical metagame, being a base power of 240, factoring in STAB and the rain. Draco Meteor is there to hit anything for massive damage(base power 210 with STAB) that resists the water moves. Waterfall factoring in the rain and STAB, has the power of a dragon danced waterfall, which is very impressive. So overall, this set is monsterously powerfull, and is capable of sweeping whole teams once it's counters are gone.
"Neptune" is the Blue, cold planet, also the god of water.
