Shoddy on Mac

Hey, I just started using Shoddy on Mac. When I try to battle, the battle window is too long, and I am not able to resize it - I can't reach the bottom and there is no resize button available at the top. Is there anyway to get around this? As I cannot battle due to this.

I just updated Java and now I'm having this problem as well. The team builder is also bugged; the "item" field is almost completely hidden, although it's technically clickable as you can see a couple of rows of pixels where it ought to be.

same thing is happening to me. does anyone out know a fix yet??
i will research what was in the latest java update. and let you all know if i find anything.

edit: seems several programs stop working when os x has a java update.
i am going to reinstall 10.5.7 to see if it helps

I'm not sure if what I did was correct but it worked.

What i did was open Java Preferences and move Java SE 6 to the top like in this pic

That doesn't have anything to do with the screen size problem.

The screen size problem was broken with the last GUI update. Post screenshots so people have an idea of what to fix.

What people are describing here is obviously separate from that, user chris is me. I doubt screenshots will be helpful.

Regardless, I had the same problem and messing with my Java Preferences somehow fixed it. Whether it is only a temporary fix or not I have no idea.

Edit: In case it might be useful, I believe this image shows the problem

I am having a separate problem. Whenever I try to open Shoddy on my mac, it opens in a text file instead. I cant seem to get it to open with java, so I'm a bit stumped.

"Messing" with the java preferences isn't magical, you are changing which version of java is used to run shoddy battle which could be very important

Try opening Terminal (/Applications/Utilities) and putting in this command
Code:
javaws http://shoddybattle.com/client/shoddybattle.php

WIN! Thanks so much.

I'm still having the same problem, and Whispered's fix didn't seem to work for me, should I just try downloading an older version of Java and see if that works?

Pretty much everybody has said that updating to the newest version fixed it so I would make sure that you have the latest version and move that one to the top. If you have an old version of OS X without the new versions, you should upgrade

I'm on Mac OS X 10.5.7 on my brand new Macbook Pro, so I don't think that's the problem, I'm downloading the latest update though, so we'll see how that goes, thanks bearzly

EDIT: I downloaded version 10.5.7 update 4, which was released on June 15, and I'm still having the problem even after using Whispered's suggestion, I'm going to try to get update 3 and see if that helps

I have a macbook pro with 10.5.7 and the latest update and I don't have any problems so it doesn't make much sense.

how do i get to the java preference list on whisper's pic?

Applications->Utilities->Java->Java Preferences

Uh, i posted a solution to the large windows issue on the bug tracker. A while ago actually.

Make sure that in your java preferences that Java 1.6 is at the top. If that fails, try clearing your java cached (also found in java preferences)
