background: in making this team i wanted to start out with a unique lead that i had yet to see that dealt with as many of the common leads i've seen used. With it i came up with a custom made gliscor which in turn lead into the rest of my team. Sandstorm is usually active, hence the sand while 1/3 of my team was steel types soo i added silver
team at a glance:
The Lead
gliscor @ focus sash
Sand Veil
Jolly
84atk/252spe/168 hp
moveset:
earthquake
taunt
stealth rocks
u-turn
description:
this is a gliscor i designed to be able to deal with most of the common OU leads. heres a description with how to deal with a few of them
metagross : either taunt then stealthrocks or earthquake is a 2HKO on the occa varriant
azelf:u-tun out to scizor who will either bullet punch or u-turn to ko
areodactyl: u-turn to scizor or tyranitar who can KO with bullet punch or aqua tail respectively
infernape: taunt then stealth rocks, or 2HKO with earthquake
these are just a few examples of how to deal with common leads, sand veil was given over hyper cutter because of tyranitar presence in my team allowing gliscor to come back later in the game with the added sand veil help
jolly was chosen to allow it to outrun lucario
Revenge killer/cleaner
Scizor @ choice band
Technician
Adamant
248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
moveset:
bullet punch
superpower
pursuit
u-turn
description:
its just your avg everyday choice banding scizor, capable of revenge killing many of the threats of OU as well as luring those pesky heatrans and magnezones as well as other pokemon who may stop later tyranitar and latias sweeps, cause i mean, whats more helpless than a scizor locked into bullet punch right?
The beast sweeper/sandstorm support
Tyranitar @ life orb/ leftovers (can't decide)
Sandstream
Jolly
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
moveset:
dragon dance
stone edge
crunch
aqua tail
description:
like the name says, hes a beast, let him come on in after one of my other guys falls, or off a good prediction with scizor or gliscor letting him get in for free.then dragon dance up and proceed to sweep. He also lures in the ever common scizors, letting me clear them away for my latias to come in later
Pathcutter/revenge killer
Magnezone @ choice scarf
magnet pull
naive
252SpA/252Spe
moveset:
thunderbolt
flash cannon
hidden power
explosion
Description:
as the name suggests this is a revenge killer, but more specifically a pathcutter, a pokemon who comes in and gets rid of certain pokemon who would otherwise block my tyranitar and latias from getting a sweep. it loves to come in on scizors who try to ruin my tyranitars parade by trapping and killing them. It is also very useful in revenge killing those pesky dragons that are oh too common in OU
added protection/physical wall
weezing @ leftovers
levitate
relaxed
252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpA
moveset:
thunderbolt
hp ice
flamethrower
explosion
description
this guy makes sure i don't get swept by things like salamence and gyrados and heracross allowing my strategy to go on as planned. ironically even though hes a wall hes managed to take out large portions of teams on his own just by staying alive and hitting them with the move thats super effective on them, then exploding when need be.
And the last thing they saw was red and white
Latias @ leftovers/life orb (can't decide D:)
levitate
timid
252 SpA / 252 Spe
moveset:
surf
dragon pulse
calm mind
recover/grass knot
description
one all the dust has settled and my opponents team has been weakened, with all of the latias counters removed latias can roam free, switching in on something it resists or coming in after one of my other pokemon has exploded or when it gets a u-turn and then calm minding and sweeping.
for the final move i couldn't decide between the grass knot or recover as well as its item, recover would help with life orb for sure but grass knot also helps to gain that 2HKO on tyranitar which i am not ensured will be removed by then.
well thats my team feedback is much appreciated as even though this team is doing pretty well so far, something feels off about it
