Buck teeth are more then just for chuckin' - an NU Tournament Warstory

Well, I was taking a look at the NU forums about a week ago, and I noticed that Sceats was holding the very first NU tournament on the forums. I was pretty excited since I was really looking forward to play in it, and I really enjoy playing NU.

Then came the time for the pairings. I was paired up with a person named MonkeyMizzle. I've never heard of this person before, nor have I ever battled him. I was really lacking on a good team, so before I tried getting in contact with him, I hit the drawing board.

With a couple of tests here and there, I've come up with an awesome team. It's essentially like the Dual Screen Azelf + Pure Baton Passer Gliscor + Metagross, but I brought that into the NU metagme. My team consists of one simple strategy, to pass on the boosts Gligar that achieved and passing it on to Bibarel. Gardevoir helps me increase Gligar's chances by setting up both of the dual screens and then using Memento to bring Gligar in safely. After that, I gather one Agility and one or two Swords Dance boosts to pass them on to Bibarel, and with Bibarel's Simple ability, it's a force to be reckoned with.

This was pretty fast paced, I quite enjoyed the battle.

However, I felt that the commentary was a bit lacking.

Decent effort though.

Agreeing with Erazor. I didn't enjoy the fact that each turn of commentary was a line and a half. Oh well.

Good game, nontheless, and great battle.

Well it was my first warstory I've done.

Thanks for the comments, it will definitely make my next one better.

Hehe, I was wondering at the end "WHY THE HELL ISN'T HE BATON PASSING IT". That was a pretty cool ending. Good warstory.

a good try for a first warstory although the comments were lacking this warstory made me use bibarel again

good job fuzznip 3.5/5 for me

I thought it was a good warstory. The comments were good enough for me and to the point. Too bad I already knew the ending because I was spectating it :p.

It only needed roost, and it would be able to PP Stall primeape until it KOed from recoil. Considering Primeape was most likely choiced, judging by the switch out from bibarel.

Hey, first off I liked the Warstory, NU battles can be so much harder to predict properly and it looks like both sides did that decently well in this match.

on a side note where the hell do you get those tiny little pictures used before each round? I've wanted to write out a Monotype battle warstory and I swear i can't find them anywhere.

Why did Gligar keep using agility? Would'nt it have been better to SD, just in case Quick Attack wasn't strong enough? It worked but still...

When it has -4 def lol

Why did Gligar keep using agility? Would'nt it have been better to SD, just in case Quick Attack wasn't strong enough? It worked but still...

He didn't pass the boost anyway...but yeah if he had roost he should've SD'ed the first turn and then just kept roosting and primeape would kill itself with struggle.

I'm pretty sure the moveset was Swords Dance, Agility, Baton Pass, Taunt so he couldn't have done anything different really.

If he baton passed Bibarel would take the incoming close combat and die... unless he used Swords Dance and not agility so he would be slower then Primeape. Yeah he should have BP's a swords dance.

I really enjoyed it, I think its funny how now that the NFE ban has been lifted, everyone is using them :)

I enjoyed this warstory. While the commentary was a little sparce, it was a great battle. I feel like your opponet was a great predicter, he was outpredicting you at every move in the beginning, but then he overpredicted a few times and gae you the momentum you kept for the whole game.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, Gligar's moveset was Agility/Swords Dance/Taunt/Baton Pass. I didn't have Roost to outstall it. I just thought about using Swords Dance instead of Agility, I guess I wasn't thinking there at that time.

Oh well, Bibarel did a sweet ending. x)

@Reaver12: You get those little sprites on pe2k.com. Scroll down a bit until you see a link called sprite resource, click that. Then you'll see in the D/P section that there's another link that says animated icons, have fun.
