In ADV, via use of the Pomeg Berry to reduce HP of the lead Pokemon to -1, you could train a Pokemon while it is in its egg. It gets exp and can evolve. When it hatches, it remains at level 5, but if it evolved from training, your egg hatches as the evolved form. This allows thing like level 5 Raticate or Tyranitar.

I see no reason to ban these Pokemon from standard play, but I just wanted to make this thread to have this "on the record" so to speak. Once Shoddybattle has limitations on levels, evs, and the like, I would like to see such Pokemon considered legal.

There's no reason to have the glitch illegal since it does literally nothing competitively.

So yeah, they should be legal.

Unless you're playing by rules that involve level restrictions. Like Dragonite and Tyranitar in L50-and-below play. There are also a few moves in Little Cup that can't be obtained without such a glitch.

We don't make our rules for non-standard forms of play. If a person is hosting a level-50 tournament, then it's up to them to decide what to allow.

Simple enough, not a really game breaking glitch, so there seems to be no reason to ban it.

(Just cause I know some people will quote this back to me later, Platinum and now HGSS weather is unavoidable in battle, so it is impossible to ignore that glitch)

Then this thread should be moved to the LC subforum, because it most directly affects them. The Pomeg Glitch allows for moves that were previously unobtainable on L5 Pokemon to be obtainable (like all level-up moves of Staryu and Porygon, and Extremespeed + Belly Drum Zigzagoon).

I'll just make an announcement about those three pokemon, as they are the only ones who will truly make an impact.

The little cup rules can decide whether to allow this, I guess. I'm more interested in the level 100 sets of rules, where this serves solely to let people use lower-level stuff than usual. I'm not familiar with LC enough to say anything about it.

Also unless I'm missing something, this only allows genderless Pokemon to learn moves they can learn by level-up, but don't need to evolve to do. In other words, I'm not seeing how it changes Zigzagoon.

You need to level Extremespeed Zigzagoon past L5 to get it to learn Belly Drum.
