So this is the team that I entered the second round of the Smogon Tournament with. It's based on two set up pokemon that can set-up on each other's switchins, Cursepert and CM Jirachi. Now that I've lost to Alakapimp, I can post this team without fear of my opponent glancing at it and counter teaming it.
Team At a Glance
Roserade-Focus Sash
Timid
252 Special Attack/252 Speed/6 HP
Leaf Storm
Hidden Power Ice
Sleep Powder
Toxic Spikes
Roserade starts the game off with providing the valuable toxic spikes Jirachi needs to help deal with Blissey and Swampert needs to deal with Vaporeon. Later in the game, if he's still in good health, he can switch into bulky ground and water types and reek havoc with Leaf Storm. I chose hidden power ice over hidden power fire for those annoying gliscor leads but they can also serve as a desperation Salamence, Dragonite counter.
Blissey-Leftovers
Bold
120 HP/252 Defense/138 Special Attack
Stealth Rock
Softboiled
Ice Beam
Seismic Toss
The best special wall in the game. She provides stealth rock and a switch into every single special attacker in the game. She also serves the purpose of luring in Heatran so that he can explode, thus freeing Jirachi of one counter.
Jirachi-Leftovers
Bold
252 HP/196 Speed/62 Defense
Thunderbolt
Wish
Calm Mind
Flash Cannon
The calm mind wish Jirachi set that I'm sure most of you have heard of by now. He is part one of my sweeping duo between Jirachi and Swampert. She can switch in on most of the pokemon that stop cursepert (Latias, Vaporeon, Celebi), setup and attempt a sweep of her own, all while supporting the team in the process. Max HP is a given, 196 speed evs are used to outspeed Mamoswine and the rest were pumped into defense.
Gyarados-Choice Band
Adamant
252 Attack/72 HP/186 Speed
Waterfall
Payback
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Gyarados is a very important member of my team. Why you ask? The most common switchins to Gyarados are:
Rotom-A
Vaporeon
Celebi
Latias
Starmie
Every single one of these pokemon stop Jirachi and Swampert's sweep. Rotom-A can tripple Jirachi with trick and the rest can't be touched by cursepert's waterrfall. Gyarados's job is to lure them out and to hit them with a ton of damage. At the start of the match, I usually payback hoping to catch Rotom-A and Latias as they seem to be everywhere.
Rotom-H-Choice Scarf
Bold
252 HP/108 Speed/150 Defense
Thunderbolt
Trick
Will-O-Wisp
Shadow Ball
Defensive Choice Scarf Rotom set. He is my main answers to Lucario, Scizor and Gyarados. When my opponent sees will-o-wisp, they automatically assume it's not a choice scarf user and I can use this to surprise them later. Trick is also my answer to endgame pokemon such as Crocune, Snorlax and opposing Cursepert, Cursetar.
Swampert-Leftovers
Careful
240 HP/252 Special Defense/18 Defense
Waterfall
Curse
Rest
Sleep Talk
Part 2 of my sweeping crew. Cursepert is my main answer to Tyranitar and Heatran. He can set up and easily sweep unprepared teams. Takes special hits very well and once I get a few curses up, this thing is not going to die easily.
So there's my team. One change I am already contemplating is replacing Blissey with Latias to help me take on Infernape better, then replace Roserade with a Gliscor lead and then add Forretress or Tentacruel somewhere so I can still have toxic spikes. I don't know if these changes will work out though so that's why I'm here.
All suggestions will be considered so I am pretty much open to anything. Thoughts?
