Plaque creates Bulky Offense (OU)

Well, this team I made today. Had a couple of matches and won all of them. It's done well and I only see two problem with my team (but you can probably see more problems...) Also thanks to Smogon for movesets.

The Team

The problems I see is with dragons as I only have one pokemon (Heatran) to resist it. The second one is about this team not having a spinner. Anyway, on with the team.

Machamp (M) @ Lum Berry ** My Champ
Trait: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 248 Atk / 16 Spd / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Dynamicpunch
- Ice Punch
- Payback

Wow, My Champ is amazing. Once Smog 9 came out I read the ''Lead Synergy'' bit and saw Machamp with Heatran (next pokemon), then after checking the analysis I had to try it. I mean who wouldn't want a lead who could beat almost every lead?

Dynamicpunch is amazing. With No Guard it has 100% accuracy with STAB AND with confusion when it hits which is always! It can 3HKO Swamperts and hopefully it won't lay down Stealth Rock because of confusion, OHKO Tyranitars (Payback for ghost switch ins), OHKO Heatrans and 2HKO Infernapes! (Dynamic Punch followed by Bullet Punch) Ice Punch kills pokemon like Aerodactyl, Roserade (followed by Bullet Punch) and it can suprise Gliscors with it. Payback is for Azelf's (that ain't Dual Screen). The rest are covered by Heatran (explained later).

Heatran (M) @ Shuca Berry
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock

The pokemon that has great synergy with Machamp, also covering some leads it has problems with. With Flash Fire it can easily swap into STAB Fire moves and launch of it's own fire moves but with amplified power. Not much else to say about Heatran so moving onto the moveset :

Earth Power and Fire Blast are my attacking moves (with Explosion as a last resort) as Earth Power covers Fires, Steels, Rocks while Fire Blast covers Ice, Grass, Steel (again!) and it can probably kill anything that is neutral to it. Heatran is also my Stealth Rocker.

Heatran is a great partner to Machamp because there are two pokemon that Machamp can't deal with and Heatran can. These two are Metagross and Jirachi. Metagross will usually Meteor Mash Machamp straight away and because of Lum Berry I can't confuse Metagross and I think he can 2HKO me and that's where Heatran comes in handy. Heatran can come in on the Meteor Mash and it'll Earthquake straight after but won't kill me because of Shuca Berry. On the same turn I'll use Fire Blast and I will end up winning against it. Machamp against Jirachi Machamp will lose as Jirachi will either flinch Machamp to death with Iron Head or kill it with Zen Headbutt or Psychic. Heatran resists all of those moves and will kill it with Fire Blast.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Hydro Pump
- Light Screen
- Will-O-Wisp

Rotom-W, my spin-blocker and support. I chose the Water one because I had a Fire, I had a Grass, the Ice Rotom I didn't like because of 70% accuracy, and I just don't like the Fan one. That left Rotom-W. Again, I can't think of anything to say, so onto the moveset :

Discharge for STAB and the 30% paralysis to help (specially to Heracross) teammates. Hydro Pump and Will-o-Wisp can mess with Tyranitar if Machamp didn't already kill it aswell as helping against other pokes. Light Screen for psuedo passing.

Celebi @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 232 HP / 32 Spd / 244 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Rest
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn

Always loved this Celebi set. It's so bulky, yet so offensive, it fit's this team well because it's BULKY OFFENSE. :toast: This pokemon helps it's teammates with paralysis and also absorbing status with Natural Cure while killing off pokemon with it's STAB Grass move. Now moveset :

Leaf Storm, STAB, Life Orb = POWER. Rest is for healing off recoil damage, entry hazards and the damage the opponent caused. Thunder Wave is there to help (specially Heracross, again) it's teammates and U-Turn will let him do some light damage, scout, get rid of the special attack drop, and GET THE HECK OUT OF THERE.

Heracross (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Megahorn
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Reading the analysis for this set, I loved it. The EV's let it survive a variety of moves (Zapdos's Heat Wave, ect.) and it can be much more bulkier because of Bulk Up. You may have wondered why I kept saying 'specially Heracross' and now you know why as it helps this set greatly. Now onto moveset :

Bulk Up is the main move of this set, as it boosts attack and defence by one stage, but with Rest and Sleep Talk it can set up multiple times. Once Heracross has finished boosting up, he can fire off Megahorns (too bad I only had space for one move...) and rest off damage and get Guts to boost up his Megahorn even more! This thing can be MENTAL.

Tyranitar (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 48 Atk / 208 Spd / 252 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Superpower

The last member of my team, and the first time I used it. I was suprised at how well it did, bluffing a Choice Band or Scarf (depending on if I'm faster or not) and then firing off my other moves. I think the people I fought people misjudged how fast this Tyranitar was resulting in a death. Now moveset :

Dark Pulse for STAB, Flamethrower and Ice Beam for coverage. I would usually try to use Superpower so it looks like I am choiced but if not I would just use my other moves. Expert Belt is just so useful; if super effective it gets amplified by 20% and also bluffing a choice item! (I think I said this to much...)

Well thats my team! Please RMT and give me any suggestion you have and I'll test them out as soon as possible. :toast:

Hey I got your VM!

IMHO, this team looks more like a suspect team than an OU team- why not try it there until the vote? Anyways, I'd try a SubSplit set over your current set- I don't really understand the purpose of Light Screen, and Sub + Wisp hits Tyranitar if he a concern. It will also help tons with Bulky Gyarados, who currently gives this team a lot of trouble.

Substitute Gengar loves this team, because he is a major threat to nearly every Pokemon. I wouldn't call any Pokemon a counter or even check, except maybe Tyranitar, provided he doesn't have a sub up, which he can set up on any other Pokemon. This is a very strange suggestion, but maybe try chople on tyranitar? You can still bluff a choice item, and can survive a focus blast.

That's all I got, hope I helped. Very solid team.
