Introduction Sub Forum?

Smogon could use an introduction forum just to have a way for new users to have a place to post without having to feel intimidated by many of smogons big posters
 
we used to have one called the welcome wagon but most of the posts are just "hi im ___" which don't really do anything.
 
Generally we prefer users to just lurk and observe until they are comfortable and then to just jump right in. Intro forums don't really accomplish anything.
