Team Prototype (OU Team)

This team I’ve used for a few weeks it has been giving me alot of wins, but I think I need much refinement. Any suggestions?

Anti-Lead Tyranitar @ chesto berry
EVs: 252 HP, 4 Attack, 252 Spc. Def
Adamant nature
Moves:
Payback
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Rest

With his massive Spc. Def he can take even a survive Hydropump from a 299 Spc. Attack Starmie with life orb taking (83.2%-98%) and can shrug of a surf from it but only taking (65.8%-77.7%). This bulk is enough to survive a life orb Heatran set taking (50%-58.9%). He can wall all non-super effective hits easy. As a lead he can take care of suicide leads, taunt SR leads and most Spc Attacker leads. And with chesto berry he can block sleep without having to worry about another statues effect triggering a lum berry. If he survives into the late game he can rest off the damage and attack the next turn. And with a 335 attack he can still dish out massive damage

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
EVs: 252 HP, 200 Def, 58 Spc Attack
Ability: Clear Body Bold nature
Moves:
Barrier
Toxic Spikes
Surf
Rapid Spin

This set makes for a very unconventional physical tank. I can switch into a not very effective attack and then set up toxic spikes or barrier. I can also rapid spin away other spikes that may cause my team problems. After one barrier his def goes to 474. More than enough to block a swords dance Scizor taking no more than 35% after a Swordsdace, and no more than 30% from a choice band scizor set.

442.png

Bronzong @ Choice band
EVs: 252 HP, 86 Attack, 80 Def, 92 Spc. Def
Ability: Heatproof
Sassy nature

Moves:
Earthquake
Gyro ball
Trick
Stealth rocks

This set allows Bronzong to be an overall wall. It’s able to take most attacks quite well and deal some back with 235 Attack. His ability may be gimmicky but since most Bronzongs run levitate for the immunity, mine gets the luxury of taking a ground “immunity” by extension. Then my current ability blocks from the more common fire type attacks. His moves are there to take out threats like fire, physic rock steel and electric types. With trick I can block people from setting up or switching moves, this allows me to be able to get a few free switch-ins and the ability to block people from setting up.

Dragonite @ Lifeorb
EVs: 252 attack, 252 Spc attack, 4 speed
Mild nature

Moves:
Draco meteor
Fire blast
Extreme speed
Superpower

I have used this to replace my Gyarados. With the move set I can hit with a much wider type coverage than my Gyarados was able to. Previously I had difficulty with killing enemy Forretress and Bronzongs and faster sweepers. This set allows me to overcome those setbacks and without requiring to boost with Dragon Dance. I also will be able to switch into Para-flinchers like Togekiss and Jirachi and hit them back hard.

477.png

Gliscor: leftovers
EVs: 252 HP, 4 Def, 252 Speed
jolly nature

Moves:
Earthquake
roost
toxic
taunt

He is a perfect pairing with Tentacruel since it has electric immunities and ground immunities for Tyranitar, Tentacruel and Bronzong. This set is meant to be a wall breaker. After toxic, I can roost away all damage while the enemy is poisoned and is hurt from sand storm. His ability allows him a 10% dodge. Taunt is there to block walls from setting up or healing the passive damage. Earthquake is good STAB great stab attack that can hit pokemon as the roost.

282.png

Gardevoir @ Light Clay
EVs: 252 HP 136 Speed, 120 Spc. Defense
Ability: Trace
Calm Nature

Moves:
light Screen
reflect
Psychic
Energy Ball / Psych up/ Wish

This is a more than basic Dual screener. It’s fairly durable from special attacks and can provide more support. His ability allows me to steal my opponent’s ability to use it as my own and it is often to my advantage. Psychic allows good STAB and is good to hit Machamps and Breloom that have been causing problems lately. Energy ball has more uses and is good to take out bulky water types, but Psych Up allows me to steal the stat boosts of enemies for my own. Wish provides my team extra support and a recovory move.

So is anyone has any suggestions or tweaks it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

One thing I noticed right off the bat is you don't have Stealth Rock. I think I speak for most of the battling community when I say that it is the best move in the game. Bronzong or Tyranitar would make effective users of it.

I suggest Toxic on Gliscor too; you may have Toxic Spikes already but since you have no spin-blocker and Flyings avoid it, Toxic will probably see more use on Gliscor than U-turn.

You're weak to DD Gyara. If Bronzong Explodes on the wrong target, you'll have some trouble. Giving Gardevoir Defense EVs and Thunderbolt would fix this. You could put one of the screens on Bronzong.

First,Dont Use TTar As a Lead.

  • Use Dragonite > Tyranitar With This Anti Lead Set
    149.png

    Dragonite @ Life Orb
    Mild Nature
    Ev's:252 Atk / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
    Moveset:
    ~ Draco Meteor
    ~ Fire Blast
    ~ ExtremeSpeed
    ~ Superpower

  • Use Stealth Rock > U-turn On Gliscor: To Put Up Rocks And Give Ttar Or Infernape To OHKO Pokemon

  • Use DD Ttar Or NP Infernape> Bronzong: As Gardevoir Is There To Set Up Screens And It Gives Advantage For Them To Set Up Due To Screens.
I Cant Rate Much Now,Later I Will Continue My Rate

GL with the TEAM!

Okay, one thing. Specs on Brongzong... What the heck?! Change Brongzong's item to Macho Brace so it boosts your Gyro Ball, you wont lock yourself into Stealth Rock and it's bigger disadvantage by making fast threats slower.

If you are planning to trick with Bronzong surely it makes more sense to hold a Choice band. That way your physical attacks will be boosted until the point of tricking. If you trick to Blissey you may very well cripple it, you don't want to give it a more powerful Ice Beam until it bites the dust...

ive used choice band and i found discovered that i end up giving it to physical attackers. and that ends up hurting much more

As I Was Saying,Dont Use Bronzong ffs,None Of Your Team Can Sweep And Have Advantage Because Screens is Up( Bar Gyarados),So Read My Post ^_^

Edit: Anti Lead Machamp Destroys Your Team,You Could Use Metagross Instead Of Tyranitar Holdling Lum Berry

i have replaced gyarados with dragonite and changed up my bronzong.
im also thinking of replacing barrier on tentacruel to something else since i dont use barrier too much.

@[DR]InferNAPE i like the dragonite you presented to me, but when i tried it as a lead it wasnt giving results

Hey Zeman interesting team you have there. I have a few suggestions that may help your team out!

Before I get into my rate a few move sets and items need to be fixed. Do not use choice band on machamp instead use macho brace. "Reducing speed 50%" can be useful especially against fast paced sweepers that don't have priority for example gyarados. You would rather trick macho brace to a gyarados then a choice band that just goes to there advantage. Like [DR]Infernape said don't use that tyranitar as a lead. It doesn't accomplish anything meaning tyranitar doesn't set up stealth rocks or prevents stealth rocks from being set up. It also isn't a viable anti lead instead use dragonite lead! I still don't understand the answer you gave to [DR]Infernape.
"@[DR]InferNAPE i like the dragonite you presented to me, but when i tried it as a lead it wasnt giving results" I for one can garuntee that anti lead dragonite gives better results then the current foolish ttar set you are using. Now you if you come to the right mind and use dragonite as a lead then you should choice band tyranitar. It has raw power and easily suprises the opponent by doing great damage with both of its stabs by using stone edge/crunch.

Like starbuck said you are weak to dragon dance gyarados. From the looks of it after one dragon dance gyarados can spam waterfall and earthquake to sweep your team. All you can do is hope that you have reflect up and try to kill with tyranitar or gyarados. Instead of having to deal with this horrendous threat, I would suggest you use defensive starmie in place of tentacruel. You have no use for toxic spikes considering that this team has no pokemon to take advantage of the toxic. By using defensive starmie this would be your initial switch into gyarados and being able to live any +1 attack from gyarados and ohko back with thunderbolt. Starmie provides as a better rapid spinner then tentacruel and does well against skarmory and other spike stacker.
