Why this set should be on site:
Wall breaks and sweeps at the same time.
Can outspeed many choice scarfers after agillity
Makes a decent skarmory/flygon counter depending on final moveslot choice
Can OHKO blissey after s-rock with c-combat.

Aditional comments:
The ev spreads are to outspeed + base 115 scarfers respectively
Aura sphere for breaking skarmbliss and Dragon pulse if team has no trouble with skarmbliss

Teammates:
If using:
Dragon pulse: pokemon that can take down skarmbliss +tentacruel such as eq/fire blast/ccombat/t-punch infernape help it alot.
Aura sphere: Powerful Pokemon that have trouble with skarmbliss as team mates are the only reason to use aura sphere.
Spikes and s-rock support. Zapdos works well as it deals with bulky waters well.

Counters: Timid Scarf starmie can revenge kill it. Paralysis can cripple it as it agillity allowing team member to take it out.

Why go mixed when physical is generally more powerful across the board? Splitting EVs doesn't get anywhere, and doubling up on coverage is meh. If Luke doesn't OHKO, it usually doesn't make it, and a moveset of CC / Crunch / Ice Punch / Agility is superior in pretty much every single situation.

HP Ice is better than Dragon Pulse because its an easy OHKO on Gliscor. Dragon Pulse is only better for the OHKO vs Kingdra, something VERY few non-boosted, non-Explosion attacks can boast. But considering Gliscor is a great counter to most other Lucario sets, and a common switch-in if they expect a SD, the chance to KO him is too good to pass up. Also, unlike Gliscor, Kingdra is easily 2HKOd by Close Combat. It also ensures a OHKO against even the most specially defensive Dragonite (with or without SR).

I would also recommend giving it a full 220 speed EVs to outspeed +nature scarf 115s. Even with the loss in attack, you still OHKO Blissey with Stealth Rock.

Personally, I like the idea of running this along side Zapdos, who can take care of bulky waters, who can stall you all day for Life Orb damage with their Wishes, Rests, Calm Minds, etc. Zapdos also has great synergy and could possibly BP you your Agility (or a welcomed Charge Beam boost but that's a bit much), so Lucario can run both coverage moves. Plus it faints Gyarados who totally sets up on you.

Since you will be boosting speed, consider replacing Dark Pulse over Shadow Ball for the flinch rate.

Good luck and all with getting the approval of people who actually matter...

Actually SpA > Atk on Lucario, but it's better as a Physical Attacker sometimes though. But i agree with the rest of the post.

Id like to know how this is better than ice punch / cc / crunch

Agreed.

Lucario just doesn't fit as a mixed sweeper, with Swords Dance and access to Close Combat and ExtremeSpeed, its a threat to everything. [Except Ghost types, but those are dealt with with Crunch]

Lucario in a nutshell.
He outspeeds just about everything he needs to bar Gliscor and Jirachi, where things like Starmie and Jolteon etc are dealt with by a +2 LO Extremespeed, for basically everything else, Close Combat hits hard, ridiculously hard, killing even arguably the best physical walls, Skarmory with SR up. The thing is, just with Close Combat + Crunch + Extremespeed, he can quite easily walk through weakened teams, where he can OHKO a ridiculous amount of pokemon just after a Swords Dance, where physical counters such as the aforementioned Skarmory or Swampert can't even deal with him.

Mixed Lucario makes for a weaker Lucario, as he struggles to nail OHKOs without stat boosts, and moves such as Aura Sphere or Shadow Ball don't have the raw power that Close Combat has before or after a +2.

@ Shizzle: Am I getting it wrong or is SD Lucario the only succesful Lucario set there according to you? The Agility has advantages over the Sword Dance version so it isn't outclassed at all.
Gengar, Rotom-A, Gliscor, Dragonite, Choice Scarf Heatran, Magnezone, Choice Scarf Tyranitar, and Jirachi all counter SD Lucario.
Agility Lucario is a very good late game sweeper and it can defeat all this aformentioned counters with a simple moveset of Agility / Close Combat / Crunch / Ice Punch.

About this set, I have to agree with most posters here about this set probably isn't that effective. You should just go either completely physical or special but using a mixed moveset forces you to spread your EV's so you cannot have maximum power in one of the attacking stats.

@Delko, the point I was trying to make was that Lucario with SD can beat just about any Physical Wall, whereas Mix Lucario loses to a list of walls...or rather, fails to OHKOs them, and hence takes a huge hit back.

You don't want Aura Sphere on this set at all. You want Hidden Power [Ice], and there's no need for Attack EVs at all. One, Blissey isn't switching in anytime soon. Two, Close Combat, from Rash and 0 Atk EVs always OHKOs Blissey with Stealth Rock, and even without it, it has a fair enough chance (I think the min is like 97%). The main reason I would use a Mixed Agility Lucario is for OHKOing things like bulky Rotom-A with Rash Life Orb Shadow Ball, something Adamant Life Orb Crunch cannot do.

This is how I think the set should look.

Lucario @ Life Orb
Nature: Rash
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 Atk | 252 SpA | 252 Spe

  • Agility
  • Close Combat
  • Shadow Ball
  • Hidden Power [Ice]

Shiny Pidgey's set looks a lot more promising than yours being able to OHKO blissey and rotom-a which as mentioned, crunch cannot. Anyways a mix luke is outclassed by mix ape, even if it pulled of an agility.

There is no point of using a Mixagility set at all when the AgiliLuke set does the same thing, but more. Scarf Rotom-A is already OHKOed by Crunch after rocks (87.1% - 102.9%). Sure LO Shadow Ball (252 Sp.Atk) does approximately 20% more damage than Crunch (252 Atk) vs Defensive Rotom-A, but your making your STAB Close Combat weaker which is not good when your trying to hit Pokemon neutral with your STAB for greater damage like Skarmory. Yea, add Aura Sphere instead of Close Combat then you lose 30 BP or Aura Sphere for other moves then you lose coverage. Oh.. and Gliscor is already OHKOed by Ice Punch (96% - 114.1%, guaranteed after Rocks). I don't even want to calculate other shit like Flygon or Dragonite since the damage is already obvious.

goddam..

TIP and pretty much everyone else is right, I think its quite obvious this is outclassed by the physical agility lucario.

I'm rejecting this, sorry.
