shit: people on irc said to merge sunny day and tr support so i did.

more shit: what are peoples views on a wish set? not exactly sure if it could work but it seems interesting.

[OVERVIEW]

-talk about its versatility. how it can use its ability in chlorophyll to sweep, as well as use its great defense stat and support movepool to.... support things.

[SET]
name: Sunny Day Sweeper
move 1: SolarBeam
move 2: Psychic
move 3: Sleep Powder / Hidden Power Ground
move 4: Explosion
item: Life Orb
nature: Modest
evs: 116 HP / 196 Spe / 196 SpA

[SET COMMENTS]

-makes a great sunny day sweeper in the lc environment with two decent stab moves, as well as being able to go off with a bang.
-not outclassed by things like bellsprout, oddish, etc because of its superior bulk as well as stab psychic, and explosion.
-sleep powder disables a counter (munchlax, avoids sucker punch from croagunk, etc...) and allows eggy to continue its sweep.
-hp ground gives it decent coverage in grass + ground and also hits houndour.
-much easier time with gastly because of psychic.
-outspeeds scarf mankey by a point which is pretty sweet. (obviously kos.)
-free switch in to aerial ace + night slashless gligar.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

-sunny day can be used but generally better off attacking.
-leaf storm is cool for when suns gone but a -2 eggy is a bad eggy.
-evs are for max SpA, max Spe, and the rest in hp to take hits better. atk investment is unnecessary because even with a - nature, it still hits pretty hard.

[SET]
name: Dual Screener
move 1: Reflect
move 2: Light Screen
move 3: Sleep Powder
move 4: Explosion
item: Light Clay
nature: Impish
evs: 196 Hp / 36 Atk / 196 Def / 76 SpDef

[SET COMMENTS]

-one of best dual screeners in lc because of the ability to take out two mons and set up screens effectively.
-not outclassed by bronzor because of water, electric, and fighting resist as well as access to sleep powder & explosion.
-great for setting up frail mons like dd tini, dd bagon, etc. (basically any boosting sweeper.)

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

-evs provide for maximum defensive bulk, while the rest are put in atk to power up explosion and spdef to make for a mixed wall of sorts.
-psychic can be used over sleep powder to prevent gastly from setting up a sub + reliable stab move but gastlys faster and kos with shadow ball so it doesnt really have much utility.

[SET]
name: Field Effect Support (new name....)
move 1: Trick Room / Sunny Day
move 2: Sleep Powder
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Explosion
item: Oran Berry / Heat Rock
nature: Relaxed
evs: 196 Hp / 36 Atk / 196 Def / 76 SpDef
ivs: 0 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

-amazing field support mon because of its awesome movepool.
-scenario: come in on something it switches out. sleep powder. next turn, trick room. you are now faster. if ghost, psychic, if not boom. if running sunny day, hopefully you outspeed. if ghost, psychic. if not, boom.
-when running sunny day, use a spread of 196 hp/196 def/36 spe/76 spdef. this gives you enough speed to beat 21 spe scarfers by a point after sun goes up.
-machop, munchlax, bronzor, and any slow mon works well with tr set up, while things like houndour, growlithe, oddish, and bellsprout work well when using sunny day.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

-any of the screens work if you want to forgo psychic.
-leaf storm is a strong stab that can hit things like tododile, and gligar trying to set up.
-evs on tr for lowest speed possible and max bulk.
-evs on sunny day to beat 21 scarfers as well as max bulk.

[TEAM OPTIONS]

-for sunny day sweeper, houndour makes a great partner to absorb fire attacks.
-sunny day set up mons work too. things like duskull, munchlax, and diglett make good sunny day set uppers.
-for dual screener, any set up mon that appreciates the extra defense is a great teammate. for example, krabby, dratini, gligar, and etc set up easier behind dual screens.
-for tr, slow, strong mons are good teammates. for sunny day set up, chlorophyll sweepers, as well as fire types make good partners.

[OPTIONAL CHANGES]

-a wish + protect set can work but wish isn's as viable a strategy in lc as it is in ou.
-leaf storm can be used on any set, but -2 is bad.
-a swords dance sweeper in the sun can work, but lack of psychic stab makes it to where bellsprout generally outclasses it.
-synthesis could be used on a bulky sun sweeper, but it usually needs the coverage moves.

[COUNTERS]

-snover pretty much counters every set, negating hail and making it eat a blizzard.
-any fire type greatly threatens it, especially houndour who can come in for free on psychic.
-gastly can get a free sub up on psychic-less sets.

yay im done. now approve this shit

With 21 speed along with energy ball/leaf storm, psychic, boom, hidden power, ancientpower (for fires), sleep powder for moveslot choices, I'd think a scarf set could be fairly viable. Sleep powder gives it a niche, and a leaf storm has got to sting most everything. A lack of trick is upsetting though.

Subs should be considered on offensive sets due to the sucker punch weakness.

Outside that, it looks pretty good.

On the sunny day sweeper set, Eggxecute has good enough typing to be both an offensive and defensive powerouse to set up its own sun and sweep much like Mantyke's bulky rain sweeper can albeit with lower base speed. Slashing explosion with sunny day with Oran Berry as an option IMO is a good idea because Exeggute isn't frail enough to completely condemn it to one sweep. Also i think HP Fire is a good option instead of ground seeing as it hits everything Ground hits supereffectively that grass can't hit supereffectively.

Remember: Dry Skin gives Croagunk a fire weakness

(YAY 100th POST! lol)

Hp ground hits stunky, who rapes exeggcute otherwise.

completely forgot about stunky lol.

I still think it should be an option if you have a reliable check to stunky like diglett on your team.
Also i still stand by my other statements about the sweeper set.

Stunky does take decent damage from Hidden Power Fire and Solarbeam, though. Also I'd rather Sleep it to dodge Sucker / Pursuit.

I like Exeggcute leads actually. You Protect (for Fake - turners), Sleep, Sunny Day, and explode. I think it should be added.

This

This strategy is also viable for trick room although Bronzor can do that and more so i guess that's outclassed somewhat.

I agree with Heysup though in that it should be added since exeggcute is the only chloryphill poke that learns explosion and therefore is one of the best Sun starters out there.

I really don't think a whole new set is necessary. A simple mention of it in set comments saying something like...

"Exeggcute can also be used in the lead position, but with Protect over Psychic to block Fake Out users. With Explosion as well as Sleep Powder, Exeggcute has time to set-up screens, as well as give a sweeper a free switch-in from the start of the match"

That's not exactly what I'd put, just a rough.

Onto a scarf set, exeggcute is slow and if you give it a scarf, you have to run timid which really hurts its spa. something like Bulbasaur outclasses that with higher speed and special attack.

About putting Sub on an offensive set, it's unnecessary because sleep powder dodges sucker punch while solar beam hits stunky hard.

About Sunny day on the sweeper set, I originally had a slash there, and ya I guess it does work well as a standalone sweeper, so I'll put it back. Hp Fire is unnecessary. Nails pretty much said what I would say.

Bronzor is easily taken out by a fire sweeper, while Aron... Might not be ohkoed by solarbeam? Basically, bronzor isn't a threat to sunny day.

Ya Hp Fire is in no way the better choice for sweeper sets. You really didn't give any reasoning at all... It has great Dual Stabs, plus two moves to disable any counters. Also, when it's not sunny, with hp fire youre pretty much fucked because hp fire without sun does shit to most stuff and the only case its superior > hp ground is against like... bronzor.

I feel the Field Effect Support set needs to be split since trick room and sunny day require completely different EVs and have entirely different team setups, other than that I find the content to be good, and will stamp it after this change has been made.
