Introduction

Hi everyone, welcome to my first RMT. I'm Uncommon Madness and I started playing pokémon when I was 6 (now I'm almost 17) but I've discovered Smogon and competitive play only 15 months ago. After spending some time using Shoddy Battle and visiting this forum I've decided to create this account.
Here I bring you one of the most successful UU team I've made and with it some weeks ago I was able to reach 1607 CRE on the UU ladder under the alt "Toy Boy is Pro".
Without further ado (I don't want to make this boring...) here's the team:

A Closer Look

Skuntank @ Life Orb
Ability:Aftermath
Evs: 252 Atk/232 Spe/24 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spe, -SDef)
-Crunch
-Explosion
-Hidden Power (Grass)
-Taunt
.....
Set Analysis:
Skuntank is one of my favourite UU lead. Its effectiveness derives from it's unpredictability. Most players don't know the moveset this skunk is running and underestimate it's power.
I really like him because not only it has great synergy with other members of the team and is able to deal with common leads but also because with Explosion it can take out every poké that is giving me problem.
Crunch deals massive damage to everything that doesn't resist it, Taunt is to prevent foes from setting up, HP Grass is for defensively bulky pokés like Omastar, Kabutops, Cloyster, Rhyperior, etc.
Defensively speaking SkunTANK (lol?) is not so bad with 103/67/61 defenses also because it has only one weakness and is immune to Psychic moves and Toxic.

-Ambipom: I switch to Registeel to take the Fake Out then switch to Moltres to take the U-Turn/Low Kick
-Uxie: I Taunt predicting Stealth Rock then Crunch on the switch/U-Turn (Crunch deals 46.3% - 54.8% to standard lead Uxie). If they Trick me a Choice Scarf (it rarely happens) I switch to Moltres but Skuntank is still useful as a very fast revenge killer.
-Mespirit: Same as Uxie but Crunch deals 82.2% - 97.5% to Scarf-leads and 71.1% - 84.3% to offensive leads.
-Omastar: Taunt as they try to set up Spikes/Stealth Rock and then Hp Grass (deals 69.8% - 82.6% damage to the standard utility set).
-Cloyster: look Omastar
-Spiritomb: They can't touch me and I Crunch on the switch, if they stay in they take 42.1% - 50% from Crunch (I've seen only Attacking Leads)
-Electrode: I Crunch while they set up Rain then switch to Registeel to take Explosion/Thunder
-Alakazam: I switch to Moltres and proceed from there.
-Qwilfish: 2HKO them with Crunch while they set up entry hazard (I will rapid spin them away later).
.....
EVs and Nature:
with 232 speed Evs and a Naive nature it is able to outspeed Pokés with base 80 speed and a positive nature, 252 Attack Evs to deal as much damage as possible, the remaining 24 Evs were placed in SP.Attack.

Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
Evs: 152 Hp/252 Atk/104 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
-Encore
-Substitute
-Waterfall
-Focus Punch
.....
Set Analysis:
Poliwrath is simply awesome. It resists the very common Dark-, Rock-, Ice-, and Fire-type attacks and is able to counter almost every opposing Water type thanks to Water Absorb. With Encore support it can completely cripple stat boosters and set up a Substitute against a wide range of UU Pokémon. Once Substitute is up it can start to wreck things with it's double STAB.
Waterfall was chosen instead of Ice Punch because Waterfall already does plenty of damage to Venusaur and Torterra and I don't have problems with Altaria.
.....
EVs and Nature:

Adamant nature and max Attack are to maximize it's offensive power, 104 Speed EVs let me outspeed standard Milotic before it uses Toxic/HP Grass and random pokés such as max speed Rhyperior, Leech Seed Venusaur and standard Claydol, Clefable, Blastoise.

Moltres @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
Evs: 252 SAtk/4 SpD/252 Spe
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
-Air Slash
-Flamethrower
-Hidden Power (Grass)
-U-Turn
.....
Set Analysis:
THE Revenge Killer. The movepool is pretty self-explainable: Moltres carries amazing offensive power and thanks to it's awesome double STAB it is able to dent (almost) anything that doesn't resist them and is why I chose to run also Hidden Power Grass. U-Turn is there for scouting and wearing down counters and is a very useful move in general. It's usefulness doesn't stop at revenge killing infact many times I've used it to late game sweep a weakened opposing team.
.....
EVs and Nature:
Pretty straightforward: max Sp Attack with a Modest nature to deal as much damage as possible and max speed to outpace fast threats and other slower scarfed Pokés such as Hitmonlee.

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Evs: 52 Hp/252 Atk/152 Def/52 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
-Earthquake
-Ice Shard
-Stealth Rock
-Rapid Spin
.....
Set Analysis:
Moltres and Scyther are 4X weak to Stealth Rock so I had to carry a Rapid Spinner. I chose Donphan because of it's ability not only to get rid of entry hazard but also because it can set up SR himself, has great synergy with the other members of the team and provides useful defensive support. Offensively STAB Earthquake deals a lot of damage to any non-flying/levitator opponent while Ice Shard is very useful to damage threats like Altaria,Scyther, Swellow and Torterra. Assurance was not chosen on this set because Spiritomb takes more damage from Earthquake while Rotom and Mismagius are already checked by Registeel.
.....
EVs and Nature:
They are taken straight from the Smogon set except for the 52 Speed EVs that let me outspeed the standard Rhyperior set with 128 Evs.

Registeel @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Evs: 252 Hp/40 Atk/216 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Iron Head
-Curse
.....
Set Analysis:
This is the classic Cursteel (yeah, that's how I call it...). It is able to absorb status and to wall Specially based Venusaur and most Mismagius like a champ, two pokés angainst which I would have had a lot of troubles.
Once its main counters have been weakened (thanks to the fact that Moltres is able to take Ground-, Fire-, and Fighting-type Pokés) the "Iron Pokémon " is ready to sweep succesfully.
.....
EVs and Nature:
Maximizing HP EVs makes Registeel as defensive as possible while 216 SDef EVs are there to increase Registeel's non-boosted defensive stat.

Scyther @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
Evs: 252 Atk/4 SpD/252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SAtk)
-Swords Dance
-Aerial Ace
-Brick Break
-Quick Attack
.....
Set Analysis:
This is the most destructive member of the team. Swords Dance is the amazing set up move, capable of boosting Scyther's attack to an impressive stat of 638 in only one turn. Aerial Ace is a STAB move with great offensive coverage and with Brick Break the green mantis is able to hit a great number of pokés for SE damage. Quick Attack is a very useful priority move and KOes fast pokés that may try to ruin a sweep while also allowing Scyther to act as an occasional revenge killer.
.....
EVs and Nature:
Jolly nature and 252 Speed Evs are necessary because Scyther needs to be as fast as possible in order to sweep. Max Attack because... yeah... obvious.

Conclusion and Threat list

I've had a lot of fun on the UU ladder with this team because it somehow represents my favourite style of playing.
"Supernatural Superserious" is a very solid team and I hope you'll enjoy rating it as much as I enjoyed making and battling with it.
Thanks for reading.

Black
indicates neutrality; it is a relatively easy Pokémon to handle.
Orange
indicates that the Pokémon does cause switching and stimulates more thought processes of possible scenarios than usual.
Red indicates a cause for serious concern as it has the ability to sweep / cause damage to half of my team.

Offensive Threats

dpicon359.png
Absol -
It can't set up on any Pokémon of my team and is easily countered by Donphan

dpicon065.png
Alakazam -
I usually send in Registeel to take Psychic and switch to Moltres to take the Focus Blast and revenge kill it (It can't set up a Sub against anything). If Moltres is dead (which happens rarely) I'll usually have to sac one poké.

dpicon424.png
Ambipom -
Registeel and Donphan can take Fake Out and pretty much everything else it carries, Moltres can revenge kill it with Flamethrower.

dpicon059.png
Arcanine -
Poliwrath,Moltres and Donphan can take a Flareblitz but not more than once. Usually I wear it down with SR and revenge kill it with Scyther/Moltres or SKuntank explodes on it.

dpicon184.png
Azumarill -
Poliwrath walls pretty much every set. If I predict Return/Double Edge I switch to Registeel and not to Poliwrath.

dpicon257.png
Blaziken -
Moltres and Poliwrath are good counters, Scyther can revenge kill it.

dpicon452.png
Drapion -
Donphan can deal with every set thanks to EQ.

dpicon160.png
Feraligatr -
Once it gets a DD up only Moltres and Scyther with Quick attack can take him down without taking a strong hit, fortunately it can't set up on any poké. I have never met a SD set with this team but Poliwrath is able take a Return.

dpicon297.png
Hariyama -
Scyther and Moltres can take a Close Combat and OHKO it with Aerial Ace/Air Slash

dpicon106.png
Hitmonlee -
Look Hariyama

dpicon237.png
Hitmontop -
Look Hariyama, Donphan can take a Close Combat or two.

dpicon229.png
Houndoom -
Poliwrath can easily wall it, If I predict the HP Flying is coming I switch to Moltres and revenge kill it with Aerial Ace.

dpicon141.png
Kabutops -
Poliwrath stops it cold.

dpicon115.png
Kangaskhan
-
Registeel and Donphancan easily take a Return, many of my pokés can kill it

dpicon470.png
Leafeon -
Moltres is easily able to take a +2 Quick Attack and then score a OHKO with Flamethrower/Air Slash

dpicon467.png
Magmortar -
It isn't very common but if my opponent is very good at predicting I am in troubles. Poliwrath and Moltres don't like to take a T.Bolt.

dpicon082.png
Magneton -
With a bit of prediction skills I am able to kill it with Moltres or Scyther

dpicon429.png
Mismagius -
Registeel can set up on it if it doesn't carry HP Fighting. If it does I immediatly switch to Scyther. If I lose the speed tie Moltres deals 61.1% - 72.1% with Flamethrower = KO with a bit of prior damage.

dpicon146.png
Moltres -
My team biggest threat. If SR is not down I'll usually have to lose one of my Pokémon to take it down.

dpicon139.png
Omastar -
Moltres and Skuntank carry HP Grass, Poliwrath can set up on most sets.

dpicon062.png
Poliwrath -
My own Poliwrath is the best counter, I encore Substitute/Bulk Up/Waterfall and proceed from there.

dpicon464.png
Rhyperior -
Poliwrath can encore a Substitute, Skuntank deals massive damage with HP Grass and Moltres revenge kills the Rock Polish set.

dpicon123.png
Scyther -
Registeel can set up on it if it carries Bug Bite instead of Brick Break. Moltres can easily revenge kill it.

dpicon277.png
Swellow -
Is set up fodder for Registeel.

dpicon389.png
Torterra -
I have to play smart with this guy. If I fail and it gets a Rock Polish boost Donphan is my best hope. Fortunately the normal scenario is: Ice Shard deals 53.2% - 62.8% + 10% LO Damage + Wood Hammer recoil = I win.

dpicon003.png
Venusaur -
Registeel can set up against Special Variants. Both Scyther and Moltres can take a Leaf Storm (or even a Sludge Bomb) and KO it with a STAB move.

Aggron
- Donphan walls it and OHKOes with EQ.

Dugtrio
- Registeel and Skuntank can be trapped, everything else destroys it.

Ludicolo
- If I face it in the rain I usually play mindgames, constant switching beetween Registeel/Moltres/Poliwrath...

Nidoking
- Not a serious threat, most of my team can KO it with ease.

Sceptile
- Scyther Registeel can set up on it , Moltres can revenge kill Physycal variants.

Toxicroak - The Physical set is walled by Donphan and the special one by Moltres.

Defensive Threats

dpicon009.png
Blastoise - It is set up fodder for Registeel, Poliwrath walls it like a champ

dpicon113.png
Chansey -
Is set up fodder for Registeel

dpicon344.png
Claydol -
Poliwrath and Skuntank are able to wall this guy without problems.

dpicon091.png
Cloyster -
Skuntank can threaten the lead set and stop it from laying down Spikes, Registeel and Poliwrath can set up on it.

dpicon346.png
Cradily -
Poliwrath with Sub+Encore can easily stop it, Registeel can easily set up on it.

dpicon232.png
Donphan -
Moltres and Poliwrath do a good job.

dpicon481.png
Mesprit -
Skuntank.

dpicon350.png
Milotic -
Poliwrath can set up against the standard set, if it runs the offensive set with Life Orb I have to predict a bit.

dpicon031.png
Nidoqueen -
Donphan 2HKOes it with EQ, Poliwrath with Waterfall and Moltres with Flamethrower.

dpicon195.png
Quagsire -
Skuntank and Moltres with HP Grass can threaten it, Poliwrath can beat it with a bit of prediction.

dpicon377.png
Regirock -
Donphan walls most variants, Poliwrath and Registeel can set up on it.

dpicon379.png
Registeel -
Donphan is a very good counter. If it runs the Curse set Poliwrath can Encore the Curse and Moltres can 2HKO with Flamethrower.

dpicon479.png
Rotom -
Moltres can revenge kill weakened offensive variants Skuntank can live a T.Bolt and OHKO with Crunch. In most cases I'm able to beat it without sacrificing one poké... in most cases...

dpicon080.png
Slowbro -
I have to predict a bit before beating it. Usually Skuntank goes WTF Boom.

dpicon442.png
Spiritomb -
Moltres is able to deal with non-lead variants as they usually Will-o-Wisp on the switch. Registeel can set up on it while Poliwrath can encore a Dark Pulse and proceed from there.

dpicon480.png
Uxie -
I've rarely seen a non-lead Uxie. Registeel can set up on them.

dpicon110.png
Weezing - Registeel can set up on it while Moltres can absorb a Will-O-Wisp and 2HKO with Flamethrower even specially defensive variants.

Clefable - Donphan deals a lot with EQ, Scyther with Brick Break and Registeel can usually set up on it, even if it encores.

Slowking
- Skuntank is a beast...

Hmmm, I'm not a great rater but I just HAD to comment since you're using my favorite Pokemon to use in UU - SKUNTANK.

You are right, he's ridiculously underestimated and therefore, very fun to use. I've never used him as a lead (I use him as a Psychic/Ghost killer with Pursuit, Sucker Punch, Taunt, Explosion, Lum Berry). He makes a great partner for fighting type sweepers like Hitmonlee. ANYWAY, I really love that Pokemon and he looks like a very interesting lead.

My only other thing is that it's strange to see Donphan without Assurance. Without it, Ghosts like Rotom and Mismagius can block you all day. And if you have rocks up, well, your two sweepers are kind of dead. Just some food for thought.

That Poliwrath is a beast. I've never used one, but I've fought them before and they're a bitch to take down. You have to be very careful of status, though. Toxic and Burn both put an end to his fun.

Anyway, I'd say good luck with the team, but at 1610 CRE, I hardly think you need it :D

@Kalamadude:

Yeah I know, Skuntank and Poliwrath are simply amazing.
Anyway "Assurance was not chosen on this set because Spiritomb takes more damage from Earthquake while Rotom and Mismagius are already checked by Registeel."
Both moves are viable, it usually depends on the team I'm facing but in general covering Torterra, Altaria and Swellow is more important than covering Mismagius and Rotom.

[Note: I'm waiting for more detailed rates.]

With sr up nothing on your team is going to want to take a scarfed close combat from heracross. Luckily you can revenge it though.

Hmm...the first thing I see about this team is that it is weak to SR + any Ghost with Levitate. Donphan's Ice Shard just does not do enough damage to them. I would recommend either changing Ice Shard to Head Smash or Assurance, so that you have a solid attack to hit them with. If you were to make this change it might also be smart to change your Moltres' Hidden Power to Ice so that Altaria doesn't sweep you clean. You can't really hurt Milotic all that much anyway with a scarf.

Another option would be to restructure your team so that Skuntank is a Pursuiter as opposed to a lead, which would allow you to take care of other Ghosts so that Donphan's other attack doesn't need to hit the Levitate mons.

Another weakness I see is offensive Milotic and Venusaur. There are lots of opportunities for them to come in, and nothing on your team can really come into it more than once before dying. I am not entirely sure how to fix this problem without changing this team considerably.

overall I think this team lacks focus. It appears that it prepares for a late-game Scyther sweep, but it doesn't have any way of breaking something like Rhyperior or Registeel without them simply switching to something that will take little damage.

Maybe the answer is to remove Moltres and put leftovers skuntank in that slot. I recommend leftovers because you might need to use it as your Venusaur switch-in.

Meanwhile, I would put a spiker in your lead position. Qwilfish is a pretty good choice, as is Roselia.

With a spiker, you can slowly run down opposing threats to Scyther by forcing switches.

@Aqueos: This team was made more thant two months ago and when I posted the RMT Heracross wasn't UU Yet.
You also have to consider that 90% of the time SR are not on the field (thanks Donphan) and both Moltres and Scyther can easily take a CC/Megahorn and OHKO with STAB.

@Anachronism: Thanks for the rate.

Ice Shard is the only thing that stops opposing RP Torterra (and the rare DD Altaria) from sweeping the team so I'll probably replace HP Grass with Pursuit on Skuntank.

Against opposing Milos and Venus I always send out Registeel to scout which set are they running and to absorb Sleep Powder. If Venusaur runs the offensive special set Registeel can set up, if it runs the physical one Moltres and Scyther can come in on EQ/SD/Power Whip and revenge kill it.

Offensive Milotics are kinda difficult to counter with this team but since they don't invest in defenses they are easier to take down and Skuntank often Explodes on them anyway.

Scyther can't beat Rhyperior/Registeel even at +2 but I manage to KO/weaken them most of the times before starting to set up Swords Dances.

Rhyperior goes down with a little of prediction: If I see the EQ/RP coming I switch to Moltres to OHKO after SR damage if I predict Stone Edge/Sub Poliwrath can come in, encore the move and set up.

Against Registeel I always switch in Donphan, if it tries to set up with Curse I immediatly switch to Poliwrath, Encore it and 2HKO it with Moltres.

I'll definately try out a Qwilfish Lead (I've once battled your lead Roselia and it was a bit of a fail... :P ) even if I'll also need a Spin-Blocker and that will screw up my team a bit.

Again thank you for the awesome rate.

yeah...I kind of had to do the rate faster than I would have liked. I kept putting Venusuar instead of Rotom for some reason >_> I think Sub Charge Rotom would be a problem.

Yeah, if you give Skuntank Pursuit then you can keep Ice Shard, but you need a way to remove floating Ghosts for sure.

If you use a Spikes lead you might be forced to use Spiritomb instead of Skuntank :/
