Magikarp (Lc Anylisis)- Qc checks 0/2

[Overview]

Magikarp is one of the worst Pokemon in Little Cup. It has dreadful stats,is outclassed in almost every way and has a horrible movepool .

[SET]
name: SashFlail
move 1: Flail
move 2: Bounce
move 3: Splash
move 4: Tackle
item: Focus Sash
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Ivs:Hp 0 / Def 0 / SDef 0

[SET COMMENTS]

This is Magikarp's best set. When the opponent hit Magikarp, it will go down to it's Focus Sash and then it can start Flailing. Now Magikarp is at 1 Hp ,Flail reaches 150 BP, which even of Magikarp's low attack stat it will cause a lot of damage. The IVs make sure that Magikarp is at 1 Hp after being hit.Bounce is Magikarp's best option for hitting Ghost Types and is it's most reliable attack that should be used on high health. It has a good chance of paralysis . Tackle can be used for a PP war and a Jolly nature is to increase it's low speed stat .

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Adamant can be used over Jolly for Magikarp to be more powerful. Splash can also be used to outstall your opponent in a PP war but otherwise is useless.

[TEAM OPTIONS]

Houndour is a good partner, resisting Grass and being able to Pursuit Ghost Types who switch in on Flail. Rapid Spin support is a must so that Magikarp's sash is not broken. Rain is good for magikarp as it boosts it's speed and negates sand and hail.

[COUNTERS]

Any rock, steel or ghost type can switch in on flail with ease as it is resisted. Aron is the no 1 counter with it's high defense and is resistance can set up on magikarp. Misdreavous is immune to flail and can shadow sneak. Anything with priority like croagunk or kabuto can revenge kill it. Snover and hippotas can break it's sash with weather. Any scarfer can outspeed and kill.

Wow, just because Magikarp sucks doesn't mean your writing has to. The analysis isn't even humorous... :(

have you tested the set yet? Not to speak for QC but its a good idea to test sets before hand to check their viability, so that QC doesn't have to first.

I think Life orb actually would work better without the reduced defences. Flail will get reasonable power. Bounce is a good move.

Bounce is better than Flail. Bounce is trong has a paralysis chance and gives you more than one turn to attack.

Bound is not that strong as not enough base power. so it's not the main attack but I made it clearer that it's magikarps best move at high health.

Edit: things like luvdisc have a analysis so magikarp can. Anyway I chose magikarp as it's in this list of things needing doing.

Not many other good lc pokemkom are left so I can do magikarp. Also it will have to be done sometime.

That's fine if you don't want it to be funny, I just assumed that's what you were going for. However, that still doesn't excuse the horrible amount of spelling/grammar/pokegrammar errors in here.

I'm just going to do some of it to show you what I mean.

This is Magikarp's best set. When the opponent hits Magikarp it will bring it down to its sash, maximizing Flail's power. At 1 HP, Flail will have a Base Power of 150, causing a good amount of damage even with Magikarp's low Attack stat. TheIVs are to ensure Magikarp will end up at 1 HP with one hit. Bounce is Magikarp's best option for hitting Ghost-types. Tackle can be used for a PP war and Jolly nature raises Magikarp's Speed.

If you're going to write this, then I'd highly recommend that you take a look at the onsite LC analyses to see how it's done. Otherwise this might as well all be Oglemi's work.

But to be honest I don't think this is worth it. Humor is really subjective so it's unlikely that writing a funny analysis will work out. And nobody would use a Magikarp set competitively. You should definitely devote your efforts to some other LC mon.

Magikarp is just one of those Pokemon that SCREAMS Joke Analysis. I feel that it is a missed opportunity if it ends up being serious especially because it is not even viable in the slightest.

EDIT:
Bounch is a good move.
It's a good move on Gyarados because it recieves STAB, but on Magikarp it sucks

Since joke analyses aren't allowed, I think you should take out Splash.

EDIT: What makes you think Magikarp will live for more than 2 turns? Splash has 64 pp I believe, and I don't think Magikarp can live for that many turns.

There are no PP stalls in Little Cup. Judging by what you just said, I can discern that you've never actually played in Little Cup, let alone tested this set.

Yeah, you no doubt have either very little, or no experience in Little Cup, however, to be fair, those ARE the only four moves Magikarp has...

This isn't the BEST set Magikarp has, it is the ONLY set Magikarp can have to even be able to partially succeed and do any damage to the foe...

@ShinyAzelf - There are only four moves Magikarp can learn, so I suppose Splash HAS to be there for this to be a full set.

You also mentioned Misdreavus in the Counters section which is already banned from standard play in Little Cup. I'm doubting that you've ever played this tier before.

Seriously...

You haven't read the stickies here right? It clearly prohibits joke analyses. Not only is this horribly written, it:

a) Has horrible grammar and spelling
b) Should not be posted

You even misspelled the title.....
