Battle is currently in progress. Please refrain from posting unless you are a combatant or "the word of God."

Rules:
3v3 Singles
DQ Time: 3 Days
2 Recovers / 3 Non-100% Recovers / 6 Chills

A non-100% recover is a "draining move." This means stuff like Wood Horn, Drain Punch, and Giga Drain may be used 3 times per team throughout the entire match. Remember that Chills now restore 12% energy.

Arena:
Newbie Island Arena

Based in the wonderful island of yore, Newbie Island, where nobody can count above five and everything that's not a trainer is a punching bag. In the corner, they have a section of this palm-tree and surf island set aside for practice (or real) Pokemon Battles. This small arena is sandy, allowing Pokemon who can dig to do so. However, given that the rest of the island is for the training of newbies, this roped-off section of sand for Pokemon Battles is only a 40-foot diameter circle. Anyone attempting to escape outside the confines of the low walls is outside the protection of the arena, and can summarily be plausibly attacked or flattened by new trainers seeking cheap experience.

If you go outside the circle, there are new trainers that will attack you. They are as follows: Youngster (Pidgey; 50%), Picnicker (Hoppip; 25%), Bug Catcher (Butterfree / Beedrill; 10%), Fisherman (Goldeen; 15%). The moves they will use will not be revealed until they attack.

Everyone should know how turn order goes now.
Duck, you're up!

M. was lounging around at his final destination--the newbie island. After a hectic run through the jungle to get to his destination, he was enjoying the scenic island view. Young Swimmers frolicked in the tide, and aspiring cooltrainers and ace trainers glowered at one another from aside the battle ring, as though daring one another to step in and fight.

Deciding he had lazed around long enough, M. got up and walked through the sand, stepping casually over the rope barrier. "Alright, which one of you ladies wants to battle, hm?" Unsurpisingly, the greenhorns did not seem very confident, not willing to risk their Pokemon as brazenly as M. would.

"I'll battle you!" one ducklike trainer stated, coming over and sending out a Bagon with some nickname M. didn't catch. "I am M. Sandwich, and you are about to lose this battle, sir or ma'am! Go,

Privatyke!
"TYKE"

Give 'em all you got, Corporal!"

((Woops, kinda moved out of order, hehe. No worries))

"That's pretty big talk - c'mon Bellamy, let's take a bite outta that Sandwich!"

Duck adjusts his gaudy light-blue baseball cap, grabbing it by the bright yellow bill. Thrusting his pointer finger out over the arena, he calls out his orders to Bagon.

"Let's start off with a Dragon Dance! Then, get in nice and close to hit him with your Headbutt! Finish off with a vicious Shadow Claw!"

EDIT: Squishy blob -- fire away, ref!

"Alright, Good luck and Have fun!" M. looked old school saying that, he knew, but it didn't mean he couldn't still be polite.

"Corporal. let's lead with an Ice Punch! Show it your superiority. Then, Bulk Up! and punish it with a Drain Punch!"

I'd like to start with a note that I will not be using nicknames for this battle until Privatyke is knocked out (I am not typing that name over and over again).
Round One Start!
Inside the 40-foot circle, the sand is still as the cool beach air softly drifts. The palm trees stand tall in the circle, and some coconuts look like they may fall down (hint hint). The waves are small, and the air has a salty taste to it. Outside the circle, trainers, both strong and weak (for noobs), battle amongst themselves.

However, the combatants inside the circle are no newbies. On one side stands Bagon the dragon-to-be, standing proud. On the other side, stands Privatyke, blissfully unaware of his surroundings. Bagon begins by performing a fighting dance. The Dragon Dance stimulates Bagon's muscles, raising its Atk and Spe by one stage! Privatyke is not impressed with this, and punches Bagon hard with Ice Punch; it hits Bagon for significant damage, pushing it towards the outside of the arena.

Bagon, muscles stimulated, dashes towards Privatyke and headbutts him hard. However, Privatyke seems unaware of the extra power behind the headbutt, but realizes that the Headbutt hit him right on a bruise, resulting in a critical hit. Privatyke takes advantage of this turn to surround himself in a red aura, Bulking Up all his muscles, which raises its Atk and Def by one stage! Privatyke looks at the Bagon with a smug smile; Arghonaut is going to be quite proud.

A little bit irritated at the lackluster damage dealt last round, even with the critical hit, Bagon slashes down at the Privatyke with Shadow Claw. Dark slash marks are left on Privatyke, but again, it doesn't seem to show signs of taking too much damage, especially with its newfound muscle strength. Privatyke immediately counters by punching Bagon hard with his energy-filled hand. The Drain Punch deals heavy damage and restores some HP to the Privatyke!

Round One End.

MapleSandwich, your turn.

(You can just abbreviate it Corporal, Engineer, I'm never going to type that monster nickname out myself either...I might as well change it after this battle.)

"Alright, you're kicking some ASS out there, Privatyke! Even your old wounds can't hold you back in this battle! Let's see how far we can reduce the damage being done: Bulk Up to start, then Drain Punch, then Bulk Up again. We'll aim to get out of this with as little pain as possible, Corp!"

Edit: Squishy blob.

"Dangit, Bel; this simply isn't a great matchup for you. Don't you give up on me, though - I have faith in ya, and so do your comrades!

Let's negate that defence boost - stare him down with your meanest Leer! Then move in for another Headbutt! If you manage to make him flinch, follow it up with another Shadow Claw. If not, Leer him down some more!"

Round Two Start!
Back inside the small circle, the deck knighthand stands confidently, full of vim and vigor. Bagon is a bit more tired as it slowly whittles away at the Privatyke's health. Bagon starts things off by Leering at the foe Privatyke. The Privatyke seems a bit less oblivious to this and promptly counters with a Bulk Up. The Leer and the muscle bulking combined raise its attack by one stage!

Before the Privatyke can do some more exercising, the Bagon rushes forward and quickly Headbutts Corporal's large stomach-torso thing. Privatyke tries to return fire by punching the Bagon with an energy-filled fist, but the suddenness of the headbutt makes it flinch involuntarily!

Bagon runs back at Privatyke and slashes him with dark claws, leaving more slash marks on the Privatyke's bulky body with Shadow Claw. Privatyke doesn't seem to affected by this, however, and stimulates his muscles once again; Bulk Up raises its Attack and Defense by one stage!

Because this seems to be going slow, I might choose to add something interesting next round.

"Well done on that flinch, Bellamy! Let's keep our momentum going! First, let's scare him a bit; let him see your fiercest Roar! Next, Focus your Energy -- we need some big hits! Finally, let's use the terrain to our advantage. Headbutt him into on of those palm trees and see if we can't get some coconuts to hit him!"

"You can stand up to hits TWICE as fierce as that without a scratch on you, Corporal, why are you flinching!? That's a darn shame. Make up for it by showing it an Ice Punch that will make it cry frozen tears, forget flinching! Then, nail it with a Drain Punch to make up for last round. Finally, give it one more Bulk Up to show it how confident you are! And use your bulk to stand strong--don't move an inch!

Round Three Start.
Bagon appears much more tired than the seemingly untouched Privatyke, though it seems that Bellamy has a plan...

The Bagon lets out an extremely fierce Roar. Corporal seems to be unphazed at all, but his muscles are now significantly less stimulated; that's pretty good for Bellamy! Privatyke responds by punching the Bagon hard with an Ice Punch, hitting for a large amount of damage; the Bagon is pushed closer to the edge of the ring as Bug Catchers from all around wait anxiously for the first combatant to slip out.

Using a Focus Energy, Bellamy pumps himself up, raising his critical rate to an absurd amount (not really, but oh well). Corporal doesn't seem very impressed by this either (see a trend?) and proceeds to punch the Bagon hard with Drain Punch, which has the added benefit of healing himself for a bit.

Bellamy rams Privatyke with Headbutt, slamming into the Privatyke for critical damage. Privatyke skids back and is knocked into the lone palm tree at the center of the circle. The top of the tree sways ominously as two coconuts fall from the top, bouncing off of Corporal's head for five damage each. Corporal shrugs off the pain of the coconuts and stimulates his muscles yet again, raising its attack and defense by one stage.

Sorry if this is relatively flavorless; I'm in a bit of a twist here.

M. shifted nervously. He was out of Drain Punches, so it was about time he stopped stalling and just finished the fight off. There was no reason to prolong it any longer, this Bagon was toast. "Finish the job--Ice Punch it! afterwards, set up a Substitute (18%), and then Ice Punch it again, far away! Aim outside the circle if you can!" M. was anxious to see this matchup end, he needed to make headway in this battle, and the trainers outside the circle were watching a bit...too close.

"Remind me to teach you a thing or two about reliable Dragon-typed STAB moves, eh Bellamy?"

Duck frowns, adjusting the bill of his garish cap in a familiar nervous tic.

"This battle ain't exactly going in our favor, but let's not get discouraged. First -- those mouthbreathers outside the arena are starting to piss me off; show 'em whose boss with a Roar, and make sure they don't get any funny ideas. Maybe they'll be convinced to attack the Corporal instead! That roar might've affected Privatyke as well, but in case it didn't, Roar again -- show him we're not intimidated by his bulk! Then, go in for another Headbutt -- try to butt him outside the arena, making him vulnerable! If you've still got an action left, Focus your Energy for the next round!"

Round Four Start!
As MapleSandwich unwittingly miscounts to three, Bagon prepares for his final stand. He did his best, but unfortunately it was not enough to take down the mighty pirate underling. Right? Maybe, maybe not.

Bellamy prepares himself, storing in a lot of air in his stomach. Then, he lets out an earsplitting Roooooooar. Everybody around him is shocked; Privatyke is once again affected, and the trainers congregating around the perimeter of the arena quickly flee the scene. It seems that they won't be back for a while. Privatyke tightens his fists and smashes Bagon in with an Ice Punch. It looks like the Bagon isn't going to be taking much more of those.

Next, Bellamy Headbutts the Privatyke again, attempting to push the rather rotund deckhand out of the circle. Like sumo wrestlers, they push and grapple, one trying to push the other out. However, the deckhand seems to be unwilling to move as the Headbutt fails to forcefully move it. Luckily, it seems that Corporal has flinched again!

Bellamy quickly pumps himself up with Focus Energy again as an Ice Punch comes flying his way. The force from the punch flings the Bagon pretty close to the edge of the arena, though the trainers aren't present at the moment. Bellamy looks extremely tired; who knows how long he'll last?
Round Four End.

"Good job with that flinch, Bellamy! Keep it up! Let's try somethin' cool -- charge your left hand with shadow energy and your right hand with draconic power, and hit him with a Shadow Claw-Dragon Claw one-two punch!... er, slash! Let's finish up by trying our luck with another Headbutt!"

((I recently finished a match and taught Bellamy Dragon Claw; I don't know if I'm allowed to use it yet, but seeing as you're allowed to evolve a Pokemon mid-battle, I figured it would be okay. If not Engineer, maybe you could up the energy cost of it for this battle, since he just learned it? Or if I'm simply not allowed to use it, replace Dragon Claw with another Headbutt.))

M. was just about finished with this Bagon. Corporal had it on the run, no need to prolong the chase...especially when a sea dog like Privatyke was doing the chasing. Stepping up strong, M. issued his commands.

"Corporal, take a moment and just chill out. Show that Bagon how pitiful its attacks are. You're not impressed at all. Smirk, shrug it off, brush that dirt off your shoulders. Then, hit it hard with an Ice Punch! Finally, knock it head over heels with your patented Arm Thrust technique! Give it the one-two...and the three-four-five!"

Not allowed to use D. Claw, sorry >_>

Rules:

Round Five Start!

Quite tired now, the Bagon wearily attacks the Privatyke with hit after hit. However, it seems that Privatyke is not taking much damage at all... When will Corporal finally decide to finish off Bellamy?

Bagon rushes forward and slashes Corporal with sharp, shadowy claws. The extreme sharpness digs deeper into the skin than expect, resulting in a critical hit! However, Corporal doesn't really seem to take much damage at all, instead opting to chill out on the sandy shore by the sea, inhaling the familiar salty breeze. It restores the Privatyke's energy by 12!

Next, Bellamy backs up a little bit and rushes forward at Corporal again, ramming him hard in the stomach with his armored head. This makes the Privatyke take some more damage. Unfortunately for him, Corporal has wised up to this technique, smacking him hard with an Ice Punch as he absorbs the impact of the headbutt. Bellamy walks away from the Privatyke, feeling extremely exhausted. It seems that any attack will finish off the weakened Bagon now!

However, Bellamy isn't quite ready to keel over and die yet. Pretending to stagger, he makes his way towards Corporal, inching slowly towards the smug Privatyke. Suddenly, he launches himself forward and smacks Corporal in the side, causing him to fall over on his side. Privatyke tries to instinctively retaliate with a thrust of the arm, but the suddenness of the attack shocks him into doing nothing!

Round Five End.

Maple, your turn.

M. groaned. He really didn't need this kind of nonsense right now. "Roll over and die, lizard breath! Corp, Aqua Jet this punk into submission! Knock it down, too! Then Chill again, if it's fainted, and set up a Substitute (17%)

If the Aqua Jet doesn't faint it, just step on its head or something to knock it out, we don't have the energy to waste on a barely-alive Pokemon. Then Chill."

Duck grinned at the apparent frustrations of his opponent.

"Way to go, Bellamy; you stuck it to that bastard as hard as you could, and for that, I'm proud of ya. If you've just had it, I understand -- you've earned a rest. But if you can eek out one more hit for us, make it another Dragon Claw! Put your all into it!"

You can't use Dragon Claw. I will replace it with your highest-power action (namely Headbutt).

Duck, your turn.

All other actions issued after an entire side is knocked out are rendered null.

((Sorry about the Dragon Claw thing, I keep forgetting which match is which :x))

Duck winces as he calls back his Bagon.

"Don't worry about a thing, bud; Greebo will take it from here!"

Greebo(*) Scraggy (M)

"Okay Greeb, let's try to drop this guy as quickly as possible. Let's give him a round of 3 Thunder Punches!"

(You can do that? I thought you were only allowed to use the same move twice in a row...)

M. felt much more confident finally seeing his opponent's Pokemon fall. However, he knew now was no time to get overconfident, there was a much longer road ahead to take care of.

"Okay, start off with an Arm Thrust! Knock your foe off balance! Then, while he's off-kilter, do a short Bulk Up. Finally, hit it with a Drain Punch." M. cheered, hoping to boost his tired Pokemon's spirits.

iirc you can spam moves, but the energy penalty goes up.

Round Seven Start!

As Bellamy is recalled back into the Pokeball with a burst of red light, another ball is tossed out. With a flash, Greebo the Zuruggu is sent out. Greebo rushes towards the weakened Privatyke, smashing him with a fist full of electrical energy, dealing significant damage. Corporal responds by thrusting hard with his arms, but he can only hit the Zuruggu twice due to his weakened state. It still deals some good damage, though.

Greebo is knocked a bit off balance, but he quickly regains footing and punches Corporal hard with another electric fist. It deals significant damage, and Corporal is knocked to the ground, unconscious.
