Rising_Dusk vs. Energy Storm

2v2 Doubles Battle
DQ: 3 days
Switch: OK
Abilities: All
Items: OK
Chills: 0

Arena: Grassy Plains
No features, no cover, no weather, just grass.

Starting turn order:
Rising_Dusk sends out his two Pokemon first.
Energy Storm sends out his Pokemon and attacks.
Rising_Dusk sends his attacks.

Go, Amperon the Joltik (Timid) and Jadescale the Treecko (Timid) (Oran Berry)!

Amperon, get close to Sneasel and hit it with a Thunder Wave, followed up with a Charge Beam on the same Pokemon. Finish up with Thunderbolt on Sneasel again.

Jadescale, pull up a Substitute as fast as you can and then use Leech Seed on Riolu. Then, send an Energy Ball at Sneasel just to put it out of action. Stay deep in the grass and constantly moving, so it's harder for your opponent to hit you.

Joltik: Thunder Wave (Sneasel) > Charge Beam (Sneasel) > Thunderbolt (Sneasel)
Treecko: Substitute > Leech Seed (Riolu) > Energy Ball (Sneasel)

Alright, you two. These guys are going to try to slow you down, so you'll be making up for it with your own Speed and some tricks to stop them!

Sneasel, lead with a Taunt on his Amperon. We don't want to suffer Thunder Wave yet. Then use your Ice Punch on Jadescale to break the Substitute he plans to set up. Finally, on your last turn, Swords Dance to prepare for the next round.

Riolu, you've got a good position as last attacker in each round, so use that to your advantage! As Sneasel sets up the next turn for your benefit, lead with Swords Dance! Then, since you'll go after Jadescale's Substitute is broken on the second turn, smash Jadescale with Brick Break! Don't let up, either! Third turn, hit Jadescale again with Brick Break before your Attack drops a stage!

Result:

Taunt (Amperon) ~ Ice Punch (Jadescale) ~ Swords Dance

Swords Dance ~ Brick Break (Jadescale) ~ Brick Break (Jadescale)

Round 1 Begin!

Another exciting ASB match begins as two trainers gather on a grassy knowl to battle. Rising_Dusk enters his premier battle. Wish him good luck, folks. Opposed is Energy Storm, ready and raring to go. A light breeze filters through the field to kick off this battle of new talent.

Sneasel (not to be confused with the artist formerly known as Sneasel) begins with a swift Taunt, goading Amperon and flaring up its temper. It forgets all semblance of what it was doing, and tries to think of more violent ways to punish Sneasel than a mere paralyzing shock. Watching this display, Jadescale sets up a sturdy Substitute, eating up a large portion of its Health and Energy to protect itself. Riolu focuses its ki and begins a Swords Dance dance, it shifts blue and raises its fighting spirit, preparing for the next action.

Each Pokemon having set up their own strategy, the battle continues. Sneasel launches a swift Ice Punch, throttling into Jadescale's Subsitute and delivering a powerful blow. The substitute remains, but much of it is torn and battered. Jadescale breathes a sigh of relief as it launches a Leech Seed at Riolu. The seed lands and starts entangling Riolu in vines, sapping Riolu's energy. Amperon's rage has not subsided and in launches a Charge Beam at Sneasel. the glowing sphere strikes its mark, and Amperon flashes for an instant after the attack connects, its electricity peaking and raising its Special Attack. Riolu expresses extreme discomfort at the seed but refuses to be overwhelmed, striking what little remains of Jadescale's Substitute and bursting it to pieces. The real Jadescale reappears staring down a glaring Sneasel and Riolu, satisfied at its seeding but otherwise concerned.

Sneasel retreats slightly and follows its partner Riolu's earlier lead, beginning its own Swords Dance. After completeing the dance Sneasel looks at its opponents maliciously. Its smirk quickly fades when Amperon strikes with a powerful Thunderbolt that hits Sneasel's weak spots. It doesn't leave any other impact, but Sneasel's cool smirk is replaced with an angry glare. For its part, Jadescale launches an Energy Ball at Riolu that hits its mark. Still geting sapped by the Leech Seed, Riolu powers on and retailiates with another powerful Brick Break, this time smashing into Jadescale's body with great force.

The field is still calming and cool, but the battle within it is intensifying. Each Pokemon prepares for the next bout.

End Round 1

Alright, it didn't end too bad. We got hit up a bit, but we messed that Treecko up something decent. We need to really put it down, though, and since its Substitute is down we're going to be doing alright.

Sneasel, lead this round with an Ice Punch to Jadescale! Follow it up with an Ice Shard on Jadescale so you don't waste too much energy, but then finish your last turn by throwing another Ice Punch at Jadescale! If at any point Jadescale tries Substitute, replace your action with Taunt on it!

Riolu, you've got that nasty Leech Seed, but you should be ok for some good moves here. Lead off with a Screech on Jadescale! I know you're slower, but it'll be good to support Sneasel! Second turn, use Brick Break on Jadescale! Finally, use Screech on Amperon for your last action!

Result:

Ice Punch (Jadescale) ~ Ice Shard (Jadescale) ~ Ice Punch (Jadescale)
IF (Jadescale attempts Substitute) THEN (Use Taunt on Jadescale instead of current action)

Screech (Jadescale) ~ Brick Break (Jadescale) ~ Screech (Amperon)
IF (Jadescale faints) THEN (Redirect all attacks to Amperon)

Ok, this looks pretty bad, but we've got this under control.

Amperon, I want you to use Thunderbolt on that Sneasel, then Pin Missile, and finish with another Thunderbolt.

Jadescale, since apparently everyone hates you now, why not pull off a little Double Team to make two clones or yourself. Then Screech Sneasel to help Amperon's Pin Missile, and finally, use Energy Ball one more time to try and finish it off.

Joltik: Thunderbolt (Sneasel) > Pin Missile (Sneasel) > Thunderbolt (Sneasel)
Treecko: Double Team (2 clones) > Screech (Sneasel) > Energy Ball (Sneasel)

In the case that Sneasel faints, redirect all moves to Riolu.

Welcome back folks!

Sneasel is the first off the mark, with a strong Ice Punch that sends Jadescale flying. Amperon strikes back with a dastardly Thunderbolt, and a bit far away, Jadescale creates a pair of clones using Double Team. RIolu is confused as to who's who, and uses Screech on one of the clones, while a bit of its health is sapped away.

Eager to taste more blood, Sneasel presses its advantage with an Ice Shard, which puts Jadescale at great risk of fainting. However, Jadescale lets loose a piercing Screech, dropping Sneasel's defense. This is the signal for a painful Pin Missile from Aperon, which connects a full 5 times. It really isn't Rising_Dusk's day is it? Finally, Riolu strikes true, KOing Jadescale with a Brick Break.

Riolu has gained a KO counter!

Sneasel is rather upset, and uses Ice Punch on its new target Amperon, and Amperon responds with a critically hitting THunderbolt, leaving Sneasel teetering back and forth. Finally, to end the set of orders, Riolu Screeches at AMperon, lowering its defense.

Energy Storm, your orders please.

Well this is nasty, but at least I can ensure a KO.

Amperon, hit Sneasel with a Thunderbolt. If it doesn't faint, Pin Missile. If it still doesn't faint, Thunderbolt again. After Sneasel goes down, redirect all moves at Riolu.

Thunderbolt (Sneasel) > Pin Missile (Sneasel) > Thunderbolt (Sneasel)

When Sneasel faints, redirect all moves towards Riolu.

Alright! Excellent work, Sneasel and Riolu! Let's wind this down!

I know you're beaten up, Sneasel, but since you're faster you can get one last hit in—maybe two—on Amperon before going down. Ice Punch, Ice Punch, and Ice Punch! Do as much damage as you can in your final flurry!

Riolu, you're still strong, so you've got to prepare for the end-game here. Lead with a Crunch to do some damage, then follow with Swords Dance. This will set you up for a strong sweep next round. Finally, end it with a Crunch to do some more damage!

Result:

Ice Punch ~ Ice Punch ~ Ice Punch

Crunch ~ Swords Dance ~ Crunch

Sneasel starts off with a suicidal Ice Punch, which smacks Amperon hard. AMperon strikes back with Thunderbolt, and the shadow thief falls.

Amperon has gained a KO counter!

Riolu moves last, and brings its fangs down on Amperon, Crunching and making it wince in pain. Amperon attempts to fire a serious of pin missiles at it, but unfortuantely, they miss! Riolu uses the chance to perform a dance as though it held a sword. Whatever that loony dance was, it raised its attack!

To round things out, the two remaining Pokemon trade a Thunderbolt and a Crunch, and then await further orders. They're both breathing hard, but neither is giving an inch to the other.

Alright! Good job Sneasel, you did well in your final action and made all of this possible!

Riolu, we need to end this NOW! We can't let this take too many turns, so do the following exactly as I say! Use Reversal on the first turn, but be extra careful on your order for the second turn! Try to use Reversal on the second turn, but if your Reversal gets disabled, use Crunch on the second turn instead! End the round with Quick Attack as your third action!

Result:

Reversal ~ Reversal ~ Quick Attack
IF(Reversal gets Disabled) THEN (Use Crunch instead of Reversal as second action)

Welcome to the final round of this battle between Rising_Dusk and Energy STorm!

Riolu leads off by compressing the energy from its wounds in a Reversal, and fires it out at Amperon! However, before it gets hit, Amperon is able to squeeze out a Charge Beam, dealing some more damage to Riolu. The next turn, Amperon uses Thunderbolt to push RIolu into even lower HP, but this proves to be a mistake, because Riolu gains even more power on its Reversal attack, and leeves Amperon teetering on the brink of fainting! FInally, Riolu moves forward with a Quick Attack, ending the match on a winning note for Rising_Dusk!

I actually really enjoyed this battle. Stat boosts and strong attacks make ASB really fun to watch in my opinion since it makes it replicate the real game more. Nice job guys ^_^

Being my first doubles battle, I must say that was a very amusing and action-packed battle. Good game, Rising_Dust and good job!

Just wondering, why does Amperon get 2 KO counters?
