Well we come back after a long absence with the first new TLR since the forum shift, complete with skill based capture, & a revamped payout system! We come back here to the Four Swords Quest where a budding trainer is attempting to take on the odds & land a musketeer! Will he do it? We will find out.

FOUR SWORDS QUEST

In an ancient time, Pokémon & people used to battle in vicious wars - this occurred even before primitive Poké Balls were made that turned the tide against what humans considered to be a savage & dangerous world. Some Pokémon were so powerful that humans had to seal them away, placing four swords in four different locations.

The war is over & time has long since passed. The seal was recently broken, and unscrupulous trainers have been attempting to loot these ancient sites. Needless to say the inhabitants were not pleased, & the sealed Pokémon re-awakened. Do you have what it takes up to stand to these Legendary Pokémon?

Mystic Marsh - Marsh Entrance

The Mystic Marsh is an ancient place, said to be a location where a legendary Pokémon was trained. The identity is obscured in legend, but it was foretold that only someone who had met the Pokémon's teachers would be able to enter the marsh, with trespassers facing a brutal fate. As a seasoned explorer, & also having fulfilled the conditions to enter, you are called upon to investigate. Will you accept the mantle?

Accepting the mantle, you boldly venture into the marsh, your quick paces marked by the distinctive sound of the muddy ground. You are not greeted by any Pokémon as you go through, & reach a turn in the path. Two Pokémon, apparently standing sentinel, turn to face you, & move in for battle!

Mystic Marsh Entrance

The entrance to the marsh has both solid ground and water for Pokémon to utilise. Otherwise, there is nothing special.

Mystic Marsh - Marsh Entrance

Your team wasted no time getting into the action, ganging up on the Corphish & badly wounding it, as the two Lackeys tried to fight back with a barrage of rocks which could do little more than just chip damage the party. The Necturna survived the barrage relatively unscathed as she proceeded to dispatch the Corphish with one final attack, as the Cyclohm proceeded to paralyse the Mienfoo with an electric jolt. The Mienfoo then jumped into the air while the Tangrowth called forth the sun, only for the Mienfoo to crash into it with her foot. The round went pretty well, but is it worth risking capture this round?

Deciding which path is best to go down, you decide to go down the left path. You could not help but to think you were about to walk into a storm...

Mystic Marsh - Mystic Marsh Storm

You find the end of a path, but the beginning of the next a few metres away. Before you can reach it however, a torrential downpour begins, soaking you & your Pokémon to the bone. You look desperately for shelter, but there is none within reach. Resigning yourself to a nasty cold, you move forwards, until you run into some kind of... frog? It is purple in colour, which makes you wary. It makes a loud noise, & another one emerges from the ground to join it. One of them grabs Mienfoo & runs, while the other grabs Majora's Wrath, & makes for the opposite direction. You can catch up with either one in 2 rounds, but will need to battle it before getting the other one. The rain also stops, but that does not seem to be too much of a positive...

Meanwhile, both the Croagunk Taunt your Pokémon, and then Swagger to weaken their sense of direction!

Suddenly you could hear a voice similar to the one in Mysterious Cove. "Looks like you have fallen for a double trap. Two Pokémon have been trapped & have been taken in opposite directions. You can reach one of your trapped Pokémon in two rounds, but you can only reach the other if you take one out... This is treated as two separate singles battles, so be wary."

(NOTE: Croagunk A has trapped Majora's Wrath, Croagunk B has trapped Mienfoo)

On one side of the battle, one of the Croagunk quickly poisons the Tangrowth who hits herself in confusion, before being belted by a couple of poison attacks. The Tangrowth then attempts to fight back, dealing some damage, although its Earthquake attack was strangely weakened... You do not know why, but it just happened.

On the other side of the battle, the Croagunk unleashes a fury of poison attacks, poisoning the Mienfoo while she hit herself on the first action, before the Mienfoo hit back with a flurry of powerful attacks that sees the Croagunk weakened by a margin, & with the Mienfoo freeing herself of paralysis...

Both of the trapped Pokémon took lots of damage this round, & with taunt preventing massive healing... Yeah this round did not work out that well. You can catch your Tangrowth in another round.
