4v4 Doubles (GL B7P4)
2 Day Player DQ (3 Day Reff)
10/25 Recoveries/Chills (per team)
3 Substitutions
1 Mega Evolution
Switch = OK
Abilities = All
Items = On
Turn Order = Coin
Arena = Moon Cave
Permanent Night (Light Source is limited) yet the Moon gives you enough to battle.
Positions are ON.

Psychic pokemon get the following boosts (If using some of this moves):

  • +1 Accuracy
  • Zen Mode is always active
  • Non-weather field effect have their duration increased by one (1) round (Trick Room, Wonder Room, Magic Room & Gravity)
  • Guard/Power/Skill Swap last an extra round
  • Psychic pokemon can chose to either go before or after another pokemon with the same speed (Whoever orders first takes priority)
  • Status moves energy cost is reduced by 1
  • Wish and Healing Wish restore five (5) extra HP
  • Lunar Dance fully restores the health & energy it's given to
IF Gravity IS NOT in effect (regular effect):

  • Pokemon with the Levitate ability are completely immune to Ground attacks
  • Pokemon with the ability to Levitate on Command act as if they had the Levitate Ability
  • Pokemon with a WC of 3 or lower can Levitate on Command
IF Gravity IS in effect:

  • In addition to regular effects
  • The Acc of every move is Doubled
  • All Pokemon have their WC raised by 2
  • Pokemon with a WC of 5 (before gaining Weight) or above have Ground attacks moved to the next level of weakness (2x resistant goes to neutral, neutral goes to 2x week, etc...). Flying types and Levitators (both by Ability or Command) aren't affected by this.

Well, given the coordinates, I traveled to this cavern with a fissure on it's ceiling. Miraculously, the crack splits right where the moon travels across the skies, so no matter what time of the year it is, the cave will always be illuminated by moonlight come nighttime. Also, given it's name, it's unusual to see Moon Stone deposits scattered around the cave, jutting out from the walls and the floor. But what caught my eyes - rather, my whole senses - is that something feels... altered around here. Could this be...?

Simone (Jynx) {♀}
Nature: Timid (+15% Speed, +14% Acc, -1 Atk)
Type: Ice / Psychic

  • Ice STAB; Immune to Hail damage, freeze status, and Sheer Cold. Frost Command.
  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities: Oblivious / Forewarn / Dry Skin (H)
  • Oblivious: (Passive) This Pokemon is incapable of being affected by Attract, Cute Charm, Charm, Captivate, or Taunt.
  • Forewarn: (Passive) This Pokemon is more adept than usual at sensing and reacting to the opponent's attacks. As a result, it gets a bonus move substitution that must have a condition in the format "If Pokemon X uses move Y", with no further qualifiers or additional clauses allowed. This bonus substitution may go anywhere in the list of substitutions the pokemon makes, but it must be indicated with "Bonus" or "Bonus Sub" or something similar in front of the bonus substitution.
  • Dry Skin: (Passive) This Pokemon has spongy, yet sensitive skin, causing it to burn in bright sunlight for damage but absorb water and heal damaged tissues in rain. This effect results in dealing two (2) damage/action to this Pokemon in sunlight and recovering two (2) HP/action in rain. In addition, the dry skin is very vulnerable to flames and the Base Attack Power of incoming Fire attacks is increased by two (2). The Pokemon absorbs the damage of water attacks and recovers 25% of HP the damage that would have been inflicted.

Mirage (Bronzong) {O}
Nature: Brave (+1 Atk, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)
Type: Steel / Psychic

  • Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-Type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.
  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities: Levitate / Heatproof / Heavy Metal (H)
  • Levitate: (Passive) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-Type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit.
  • Heatproof: (Passive) This Pokemon's mirror-like alloyed skin protects it from Fire-Type attacks, reducing the Type effectiveness of Fire-Typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.) The damage inflicted by burns is also cut in half.
  • Heavy Metal: (Passive) The Pokemon's body structure is immensely dense, doubling its actual weight. Adds two (2) Base Attack Power to all Weight-Based Attacks. Adds Base Attack Power to Gyro Ball equal to half (0.5x) the Pokemon's Weight Class, rounded up.

Katherine (Gardevoir) {♀}
Nature: Bold (+1 Def, -1 Atk)
Type: Psychic / Fairy

  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
  • Fairy STAB; -1 EN on non-Fairy Typed Nature, Sound, and Scent moves (Stacks with second STAB where applicable). (Nature Power, Natural Gift; Sound Moves; Aromatherapy, Odor Sleuth, Sweet Scent)
Abilities: Synchronize / Trace / Telepathy (H) / Pixilate (M)
  • Synchronize: (Passive) Pokemon with this ability mentally link their condition to an opposing Pokemon and pass on any status inflicted on them to their foe. Due to their body structure, Poison-Types cannot be poisoned, Fire-Types cannot be burned & Electric-Types cannot be paralyzed in this manner.
  • Trace: (Trigger) When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.
  • Telepathy: (Passive) This Pokemon has a mental link with its allies in multiple battles, which allows it to avoid taking damage from allied attacks that damage each foe or the entire field like Blizzard and Earthquake. They are still affected by an opponents spread damage attacks.
  • Pixilate (Toggle) By default, this Pokemon's Normal-type moves are Fairy-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, this Pokemon's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2). If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

Hecate (Aurumoth) {♀}
Nature: Quiet (+1 SpA, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)
Type: Bug / Psychic

  • Bug STAB; Adds an additional guaranteed attack on all multi-hit moves (does not include two hit moves) with a total hit cap of five (5).
  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities: Weak Armor / No Guard / Illusion (H)
  • Weak Armor: (Toggle) No default effect. When toggled, the Pokemon loosens its worn defensive armor so that it will break off when an opponent uses a contact attack, reducing the Pokemon's Defense and increasing their Speed by one (1) stage for each hit.
  • No Guard: (Passive) This Pokemon has an immense confidence from perfecting each of its attacks, giving them all perfect accuracy. As a result, it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when an OHKO move is issued by the opponent does sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally. Additionally, even with their extra skill, the power and exhaustion involved in using OHKO moves prevents them from being benefited by No Guard; they will have their normal accuracy.
  • Illusion: (Passive) Whenever you send this Pokemon out, it can feign the appearance of another member on your squad. If this Pokemon is damaged by a direct attack, the Illusion will cease at the end of the round. Direct damage is any attack that does damage to the Pokemon's HP. Attacks that are evaded, blocked via Protect, or damage a Substitute are not considered direct damage. It will retain the typing and moveset of the Pokemon with Illusion. [Usage Note: PM the ref if you are sending out a Pokemon with Illusion with the info on said Pokemon and one of your squad members in a Switch=KO battle. You must use that squad member later in the battle though.]

....................An old friend has come to challenge me in my domain, how poetic, like an epic tale climatic scene, and just like that we're gonna fight a battle to be remembered for years to come. I see your party as I congratulate you, this teams seems determined to try and beat me for the honor of becoming the first trainer to get my badge,to which I respond: we'll see... But enough with the talking, as I doubt you came all here to watch me rambling about the upcoming battle instead of fighting it. I call to the battlefield to two of my most powerful fighters, first Katherine, whose elegance and beauty are only matched by her incredible powers (and even more incredible support), to which I grant the crown jewel of my collection, the rare Gardevoirite to make sure she unleashes her powers against into the world. My second choice is Yue, her strength is just as legendary as Katherine's, but unlike her, when Gardevoir symbolizes lie and nature, Yue represents the cold embrace of death... although in a completely different way as she reduces her opponents to ashes with the heat of a hundred suns, and with Charcoal to make sure his flame is even hotter, nothing will survive her rage. I trust you two my girls into this battle you're about to get in. I don't have to be a psyquic to see you'll handle this just fine. let's go!

Gardevoirite & Charcoal

So this is the illustrious Psychic Gym, huh? It looks a lot like your average cave to me. I am feeling a bit lightheaded, though...Is it the mustiness of the cave, or perhaps something stronger?...

...Regardless, I can't let it get to me. I have a Gym Battle to fight, my first one ever, in fact! Why did I pick the undefeated GL first, though? Oh, yeah, there was actually a spot available. There has to be a good reason for that.

"So, Gerard, I see you've sent in your powerhouses first. I think I'll do the same. Neville and Severus, take to the field! Neville will take a Life Orb to amplify his offenses, while Severus will take a Link Cable because I don't have his Mega Stone! We'll start off with some trickery and powerful blows."

Neville: Knock Off Yue -> Snarl -> Crunch Yue
If Yue uses Protect {self} A1 or A3, change that action to Sludge Bomb Katherine
If Katherine uses Protect {self} A1 or A3 AND the above substitution activates, change that action to Substitute [15] the first time and Chill the second time
If Katherine uses Encore Severus A1 AND Severus's first substitution activates, change that action to Taunt Katherine and push actions back
Severus: Reflect Type Yue -> Hypnosis Katherine -> Sludge Bomb Katherine
If Yue uses Encore on you A1, change that action to Taunt Yue and push actions back
If Katherine uses Protect {self} A2, change that action to Shadow Ball Yue and push actions back

Sub preference order: low to high.

....................Sorry, I send actions on this battle but it seems that my internet failed to me, I apologize and promise that I'll try to make sure my orders are on time in the future. Katherine, it seems our foes have both think of plans to try to make us fail, it's a shame we're here to put a stop to those plans, Katherine, first is first, Megavolve, that will grant us an awesome new dress, oh and a Special boost & a new ability too, but specially the awesome dress! First is first, those subs are annoying but with we can fix that with a cold breeze to allow us to outspeed so those snarls and hypnosis are not a big deal, meanwhile we can make it so that Neville learns to lose a few pounds

Gardevoirite & Charcoal
Katherine: [Trace Pressure] [Megavolve] Icy Wind - Substitute (15) - Encore (Severus)

Yue: Grass Knot (Neville) - Encore (Neville) - Grass Knot (Neville)

EDIT:Thanks for pointing out the errors Dummy007, although I didn't get the "Neville should have 2 more HP [not counting the LO recoil from above]" part as I've already accounted for SpAtk drops in Yue-Darmanitan's Grass Knot A3. Also, I've fixed the part where Gardevoir uses up 6 EN to Trace Pressure upon send-in (forgot that last time, again I'm sorry), and Neville-Colossoil uses 6 EN instead of 7 on Knock Off A1 due to STAB as well. Gerard I think you could reorder if you want to.

Arena: Moon Cave

Well, Charla decided to chip off some of the cave's surface, in hopes of finding something besides Moon Stone in the cave's vein. It is partly my hope that we'll be able to verify the presence of Float Stone veins, but the fact that certain... phenomena gets changed beyond what seems possible, even if ever so slightly, means that there might be a possibility of certain valuable metals. Though it will take a long time of analysis with what Charla has... Anyway, Gerard sent out his favourite team member, Katherine the Gardevoir, to pair up with Yue the Darmanitan-Zen statue. Meanwhile, Dummy led with a severe Colossoil, Neville, and a sneering Gengar, Severus. As Katherine-Gardevoir swiftly Mega DigiEvolve, the Moon Cave is filled with intense Pressure of two Trainers calculating their moves, and four Pokemon trying to outmaneuver each other on their own.

The tension is shattered when Severus-Gengar suddenly bursted into purplish flames that Reflected from the cavern walls, and made Yue-Darmanitan thought that he is kin in Type. So in response, the latter directed attacks at Neville-Colossoil instead, tripping him over with Knots made from sparse mould and Grass. Katherine-Gardevoir, however, wasn't fooled, and she cursed her opponents in lilting language, sending Icy shivers down their spine. Or it could be just the Winds. Snarling, Neville-Colossoil retaliated by Knocking Off the Charcoal held by Yue-Darmanitan, while Severus-Gengar leered at Katherine-Gardevoir, trying to Hypnotize her with his new outlook. Though oddly, the latter displayed no responses at all.

All of a sudden, the Moon Cave echoed with applause, Encoring and bewildering Dummy's team. Dummy narrowed his eyes, grimly planning the following steps of his foiled tactics.

Neville's Life Orb is missing everywhere.
Snarl is a sound move and therefore hits through Substitute, so Gardevoir's Sub should still be at full HP and Gardevoir should be at less HP. This also means that Neville should have 2 more HP [not counting the LO recoil from above] and Gardevoir should be locked at -2 SpA this round.
Hypnosis's EN Cost is incorrect. It is normally 7 + Pressure, but Gengar is Psychic-typed, reducing the EN Cost by 2 [1 for STAB, 1 for arena effect], so Gengar should have 4 more EN.
Due to Link Cable, Gengar has +1 SpD rank, so he should take 1 less damage from Icy Wind.
Both Encores should cost 1 less EN, due to arena effects.

I'll order once the stats are updated. I'll also let Gerard reorder if he wants to.

One more thing I just realized: In-game, an Encored move randomly selects a target from among the opponents in a multi-battle. Does it function the same way in ASB? If so, that could drastically change the round's outcome.

AFAIK the target of encore is locked with the move in ASB, though I agree in that I would like to see the changes take effect before reordering (I will probably keep my actions but just in case)

IRC (Matezoide I remember, and probably starwarsfan) discussion deemed moves that are locked by Encore will lock targets as well. Unless you can get Council to contest that ruling, let's go with that for now.

(Sorry about the 2 HP thing. For some reason, I thought Mega-Gardevoir attacked after A1. My bad.)

An eye for an eye, Gerard. Or, in this case, a Pokemon for a Pokemon. Neville does not take defeat without a serious struggle.

"Neville, take Yue out. Severus, you'll waste an action here, but at least you can nearly destroy Katherine's pesky subs (Substitutes AND substitutions). You have been phenomenal, both of you, in spite of the brief time this battle has lasted."

Neville: Snarl -> Suckerpower [Sucker Punch + Superpower] Yue -> Cool Down (Snarl)
Severus: Hypnosis Katherine -> Night Shade Katherine -> Pain Split Katherine

Priority attacks will halve BAP when combo'ed with different moves. Also, due to being Taunted A1 Gengar will simply fail Hypnosis A1 then Struggle at random opponent A3.

Katherine further Taunted Severus' supposedly slimy looks, which got the latter into a fury when he thought he could share the burden and pain in his heart to a lady. Meanwhile, Neville, who was not even raised to anger during the last round, finally exploded when he was tripped down with a Grass Knot one last time, ferociously Suckering the Darmanitan doll with an overpowering force that nearly shattered the latter. That outrage left him too exhausted though, as Katherine simply screamed him out of the fight with that shrill, Hyped-up Voice snotty pompous teenagers used to use when socially bullying downtrodden people. She and Yue then turned their attention to Severus, again toying with him with Moon Rocks and Gleaming mirrors as he was unable to do much besides Struggling to control his inner rage and shame. On the other side of the cave, though...

"Zheng, I think there might be something from this patch of walls. I can't seem to sense any plant life around here."

Unfortunately, Katherine's KO sub means that Severus eats a Shadow Ball to the face A3 instead of a Dazzling Gleam. It doesn't change my orders, though.

Grr...I completely forgot about the priority BAP reduction. Fortunately, this means that I should get most of a turn to hack away at Katherine without her having an ally to back her up. At least, that's what it means in theory...

"Neville may be down, but he's not my only Psychic-slayer. Ron, take to the field with this Focus Sash! We're going to end Yue once and for all, and maybe take down Katherine as well. Maybe."

Ron: Taunt Katherine -> Light Screen -> Shadow Ball Katherine
If Yue uses Endure A1, change A1 to Encore Yue and push actions back
If the above substitution activates AND Katherine uses Taunt Ron A1, change A2 and A3 to Fairy Wind Katherine -> Shadow Ball Katherine
If Katherine uses Protect A1 AND your first substitution does not activate, switch A1 and A2
Severus: Night Shade Yue -> Shadow Ball Katherine -> Sludge Bomb Katherine
If Yue uses Protect A1, switch A1 and A2
If Ron's first substitution activates, redirect A1 at Katherine
If Katherine uses a P/E move AND you are targeting her, change that action to Lick Katherine

....................Sorry sweet, but Yue is a survivor! [Play Destiny's Child theme]

Yue: Protect - Endure - Psychic (Severus)

They say that when you're prepared to sacrifice something, only then when you'd be able to defeat overwhelming odds. And that when you let your guard down at the brink of victory, that's when you start to fall. Despite the lost of a powerful member, Dummy forges on, using Ron the Whimsicott to set up support while Severus-Gengar rations his moves, smiling maniacally all the while. But it seems the Ghost-type Pokemon cannot resist the allure of dancers, because all it takes is a coy smile from Katherine to get Severus turning all Shades of Night. Again.

Meanwhile, Ron-Whimsicott gets really frustrated at Severus-Gengar's ability to control himself, shaking in fits and throwing cotton fluffs about, especially when Katherine-Gardevoir Taunted him further with a reflection of himself. Yue-Darmanitan simply sits still, Protecting her mind and Enduring her body against the attacks, which seems nigh on impossible without the Psychic powers fortified by the Moon Cave.

....................I've been trying several combination of moves but none leaves me satisfied, so I'm afraid we're gonna have to retreat, there's no shame on retreating. Simone take the stage, show the world how powerful our pretty darkhorse is. Just take this to start your sugar rush and crush our enemies under the storm.
.........Charcoal...................................Rare Candy
PS: ZhengTann Whimsicott has 90 Hp (minor hp and energy fixed that don't change my course of actions)

....................TOur opponent is a fierce battler, he has shown us as much during this match, but we're strong too, and this is the time to prove it!
Gardevoirite & Rare Candy
Katherine: Chill - Dazzling Gleam - Chill
* If Severus uses a Protective or Evasive move A2 then use Chill and push actions
* If Severus uses a Sucker Punch combo against you when you're to use Dazzling Gleam then use Chill and push actions

Yue: Icy Wind - Blizzard - Blizzard
* If Severus uses Sucker Punch against you then use Light Screen, the first time, and Reflect, the second

I'm being forced into a tight spot. This isn't the kind of thing I would normally do, but I'll have to do it. You've done very well, Severus.

All right, you two, let's show our opponent what we're capable of! I think Gerard may have underestimated how much we can do this round. (Also, I'm really sorry for this, Severus...)

Ron: Knock Off Simone -> Endeavor Katherine -> Shadow Ball Simone
Severus: Night Shade Simone -> Disable [Blizzard] Simone -> Sludge Bomb + Sludge Bomb Katherine

Using his superb speed and agility, Ron the Whimsicott quickly Knocked Off Simone the Jynx's Rare Candy before the latter even had a chance to open the wrapping. Cold with anger, she blasts Dummy's team with Icy Winds. Luckily Severus the Gengar wielded some natural hocus-pocus to silenced and disabled any more of her chilly Blizzards. All the while Katherine the Gardevoir stood to the side, trying to look alluring and Dazzling. It is not until she was attacked by Dummy's team that Gerard realised her poseur act is doing far more harm than good. Dummy certainly put up a terrific fight, so much so that Gerard would definitely be considering bringing in Wilde to play.

(Whimsicott has R2 Attack, so Knock Off should have done a little less to Jynx.)

His Pokemon are resilient, powerful, and crafty. We're in a tight spot, with Severus as good as fainted and Ron on the ropes. Fortunately, Harry can deal with Simone rather well, and Katherine and Yue are both hanging by a thread (admittedly, a really annoying Endure-able thread). I'm a bit worried about Vogue and Wilde, but I think my best bet this round is still to...

Ron, you've done incredibly, but I'll need your talents later. Harry @ Heat Rock, it's time for you to shine! Counterswitch, Gerard?

....................I'll say it, I'm impresed, even so I can't let you win of this so easily and I'm more than sure I can pull this off. Katherine, Simone, I believe in both of you!

If only that combo had Poisoned, we'd be in spectacular shape right now. Alas, Harry, you'll have to get through this round yourself. Good luck.

Well, Severus, it's been fun. Go out with a bang. Harry, the fate of this battle is in your feelers!

Harry: Fire Spin Katherine -> Heat Wave -> Fire Blast Simone
If Katherine uses a P/E move A1, Flamethrower Simone A1 and push actions back
If Katherine uses Pain Split, replace Heat Wave with Flamethrower Simone
If Katherine uses Endure A2 AND Katherine is not trapped in Fire Spin, Fire Spin A2 and push actions back
If Katherine has fainted, redirect actions at Simone
If Simone has fainted, redirect actions at Katherine

Severus: Cool Down -> Shadow Punch Katherine -> Sucker Punch Simone
If Katherine uses Protect A2, redirect that action at Simone
If Katherine uses Protect AND Simone uses Protect, Chill and push actions back
If Katherine has fainted, redirect actions at Simone
If Simone has fainted, redirect actions at Katherine
