Hidden away for centuries, a monster resides at the bottom of the ancient castle. And he is not happy to be disturbed.

Sand pours down from the higher levels in the gigantic throne room of the Relic Castle in Unova. But, that is not nearly so impressive as the set of columns and stone stairs leading up to the ancient throne, or the scope of the chamber. And those fail to capture the potential danger of the angry Volcarona hovering above you.

The arena revolves around both the natural layout of the room, and Volcarona intimidating non-bugs and assisting bug-types in his home.

-No natural water
-Hail, Rain Dance, and Sunny Day may not naturally be used
-Sandstorm costs three less energy to summon
-Trapping moves cost two less energy and last for an additional round
-Any rock move that requires natural rocks used by a non-bug type will result in Volcarona (neutral nature) attacking the user with Fire Spin. This shall be interpreted as Rock Throw, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, Stone Edge, and Stealth Rock.
-Swarm is automatically active for all Pokemon who have it
-Fly and Bounce will only evade contact moves during their semi-invulnerable phase
-Volcarona is a proponent of honorable combat. As such, it will use String Shot on any combatant forced out by an opponent through Roar, Whirlwind, Circle Throw, or Dragon Tail. This will lower the speed of the affected Pokemon by one, but prevent them from being forcibly switched out.

And the first round begins! The Leader sends out Armaldo with Expert Belt, while the challenger responds with Pyroak with Life Orb. An odd choice, but hey I don't judge.

As the battles starts, Armaldo stay in guard and receives a very strong blow from Pyroak and uses all that power against it with Counter. Which it doesn't learn. And yet it worked!

With some unexpected speed, Armaldo is then the first to attack and assaults with its...Psychic powers? odd again. Pyroak counters with Wood Hammer for less damage than expected.

Finally Armaldo attacks with Counter once more and after the final Flare Blitz, Pyroak bites the dust.

Of course by now you've noticed that Armaldo isn't Armaldo. The Leader has sent out AURUMOTH DESTROY OF WORLDS with a handy Illusion. I assume expecting Camerupt, but the end result was even better haha.

The Challenger has probably the only not-quiet camerupt in ASB. And that surely made a difference here.

Armaldo received more damage and focus sash stoped it from countering properly. But it managed to get stealth rocks up.

Still too soon to choose what is more important here, so let's just watch.

The leader tries to stop the vicious attacks of the challenger's newly sent out Honchkrow, but (un)fortunately, it wasn't enough. Even not being able to use Foul Play, Honchkrow still managed to find its way to victory with Struggle.

And with that the Leader is still in the lead, but the battle is now too close for confort. The next pokemon sent out will make or break this, so stay tuned.
