People have stopped burying people in this abandoned graveyard for centuries, but there is still an eerie aura all over the place. The grass looks more grey than green (despite this not affecting Grass-type moves at all), and most Pokemon and people avoid the place instinctively. Some trainers however still visit this place to strengthen the link with their Pokemon, especially Ghost-type ones. A still lake formed in a fissure in the ground, however the dark water makes it impossible to see what lies in its depths

The odd aura of this graveyard has several effects in battle:
  • Focus Blast has 100% accuracy, and the base power of Aura Sphere and Hidden Power is raised by (2). It is very easy to focus oneself's soul in this place.
  • Will-O-Wisp has 100% accuracy. There are always wisps floating around to provide decent enough fodder for this wicked spell.
  • Pain Split has its base energy cost reduced by (2), and all draining attacks are empowered as if the Pokemon were holding Big Root, but without incurring the extra energy cost (this effect doesn't stack with Big Root itself). Life energies are easier to drain and consume in this place.
  • All Pokemon's max HP are reduced to 90. The aura of sorrow which permeates this place withers the strength and the resolve of all the Pokemon battling in its surroundings - even Ghost-types.
  • There are some leftover scrap parts, scattered around the arena. Rotom can tap into them, raising its Special Attack and Special Defense by 1 rank as long as it stays in its original form (without any appliance).

And yet another battle starts at The Ghost Gym, ladies and gentlemen!


This time, ASB's cutest Gym Leader (Sorry Birkal) is up against the newbie with a lot of determination, Jake!

''First impressions are everything!'' ''Ice Demon is here to play.'' were shouted by the respective trainers, with an Aegislash and Weavile being unleashed on the field.


Deciding to study his opponent a bit, Jake orders Ice Demon to Taunt the Ghost/Steel type, preventing any of his shenanigans. However, the leader decided to go straight into the offensive, ordering a Head Smash as Helm unleashes his blade and charges at the Ice/Dark type with deadly intent. This is going to hurt, after all, pointy things tend to be devastating when they hit something.

.....


AMAZING! The Weavile managed to jump out of the way at the last second! Aegislash's momentun is far too strong, however, and the sword is unable to stop his movement, striking a wall instead! Seizing the opportunity, Ice Demon does an amazing kick, Knocking Hem Off the wall and straight into the ground! Naturally, everyone's favorite sword-shield-pokemon-thingie gets up after a few seconds.


A few seconds after realising his item was lost, Helm is ordered to use a Combo. Having more confidence this time, he uses an extremely powerful Sword Onslaught, managing to strike Ice Demon head on!

The attacks cuts the poor Ice/Dark type several times, and when it is done, the Weavile is laying down on a pool of his own blood. Is this the end?

Nope! The Weavile weakly gets up and, in act of desperation, taps into Snorlax's power for Assistance, which leads to....making out with Helm? Oooooh, this is gonna be go---


Awww, Helm fell asleep. Must have been quite a Lovely Kiss. Sadly, as the Aegislash was cooling down regardless, this didnt accomplish much. Ah well.


And with this round over, the leader has obtained a considerable advantage, but will have to order second now, so it can still go any way!

From the handbook:
On the turn after the combo is performed, though, the Pokemon will need to cool down, much like after using Hyper Beam in the cartridges. This cooldown period can be delayed if the Pokemon is frozen, but otherwise takes precedence above all else and does not count towards the duration of a temporary status such as sleep or confusion.

Aegislash should still be asleep. Not sure if that changes your orders zarator but I would like to stay in if it does not.

After a disapointing round, Shauntal returns Helm in order to bring out Ibrandul, the Sableye, while the challenger decides to keep Ice Demon in.


Immediately attacking his opponent's mind in order to Imprison a few moves, Sableye starts focusing.....And he is having a headache now? What the.....Weavile must have Snatched his Imprison to counter attack.

Smiling over his small victory, Ice Demon swiftly Knocks Ibranbul's item Off, severely lowering his offense and defense. Sableye tries to counter attack, but he just cant remember how to use Brick-Break!

Ice Demon then shoots another Taunt, in order to limit his opponent further, while Ibrandul merely Struggles.


And with this, Jake has managed to gain a very small advantage. Will it last?

Ibrandul attempts to stop Ice Demon's next move with a Fake Out, but the Weavile's quick thinking allows him to use Protect, blocking the move entirely.


Weaville then summons Gengar's essence for Assistance, momentraly tapping into his partner and attempts to Hypnotize his opponent, but being a ghost and used to that sort of thing, the Sableye manages to resist the effects!

For his second pokemon, Jake sends out Skippy, the Snorlax. The behemoth instantly feels tired, however, as the arena saps a huge amount of his life energy, taking his HP to hilariously-low 90!


Despite this, the Snorlax is not willing to allow that to stop him, and unleashes an Earthquake for decent damage.


Finally recovered, Sableye jumps straight into his opponent and does a swift strike to the lower part of Skippy's head (Not the jaw, exactly), Knocking Off his item, while the Snorlax retaliates by grabbing his opponent and....sniffing him....over and over....ok, this is getting creepy.


Deciding to free himself, Ibrandul gives a Low Kick on his massive opponent, but his potent Counter combination (Which only managed to hit because of his previous sniffing) caught Sableye completely off-guard, knocking him out!

From the handbook:
On the turn after the combo is performed, though, the Pokemon will need to cool down, much like after using Hyper Beam in the cartridges. This cooldown period can be delayed if the Pokemon is frozen, but otherwise takes precedence above all else and does not count towards the duration of a temporary status such as sleep or confusion.

Aegislash should still be asleep. Not sure if that changes your orders zarator but I would like to stay in if it does not.
Aegislash should have been asleep a1 since the sleep counter does not go down while you are cooling down from a combo, so I am pretty sure Snorlax is not KOed.
