Welcome all to curtain call at the opera!

Very fairylike I know.

Rules:
3v3 Singles (Challenger brings 3, Leader brings 4)
2 day DQ
2 Recoveries / 5 Chills
3 Substitutions
1 Mega Evolution
Items: ON
Switch: OK
Abilities: ALL
Arena: Fairy Gym Arena

Anyways, welcome one and all to the inaugural Fairy Gym competition. Newly christened from his victory in the qualifiers stands the anointed Fairy Gym Leader, Elevator Music. Widely heralded as the strongest ASBer in the game, Emma as he is fondly known has elected to take these claims to task and has refused many of the amenities offered him by his position as a gym leader. This match takes place in a land, much like another land, but not that land. A carbon copy of the ASB Arena, the Fairy Gym Arena is alike in all respects except one, the fairies that roam the stands are vicious bastards and will horrendously murder you if you exceed DQ by even a minute. Best stay within. In another peculiarity, Elevator Music has chosen not to bring his allotted Pokemon excess, choosing instead to match his opponents Pokemon. A risky choice Cotton, let's see how this plays out. I think it could go either way, show us the combatants!

Team Gerard
Kirot (Metagross) {O}
Nature: Careful (+1 SpD, -1 SpA)
Type: Steel / Psychic

  • Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-Type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.
  • Psychic STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities: Clear Body / Light Metal (H)
  • Clear Body: (Passive) This Pokemon’s body structure makes it immune to status lowering moves used by opponents. (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.)
  • Light Metal: (Passive) The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Priority is applied to the summed Base Attack Power of a multi-hit move (e.g. Double Kick has priority at 6 BAP, Skill Link Bullet Seed doesn't at 15 BAP.)

Katherine (Gardevoir) {♀}
Nature: Bold (+1 Def, -1 Atk)
Type: Psychic / Fairy

  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
  • Fairy STAB; -1 EN on non-Fairy Typed Nature, Sound, and Scent moves (Stacks with second STAB where applicable). (Nature Power, Natural Gift; Sound Moves; Aromatherapy, Odor Sleuth, Sweet Scent)
Abilities: Synchronize / Trace / Telepathy (H) / Pixilate (M)
  • Synchronize: (Passive) Pokemon with this ability mentally link their condition to an opposing Pokemon and pass on any status inflicted on them to their foe. Due to their body structure, Poison-Types cannot be poisoned, Fire-Types cannot be burned & Electric-Types cannot be paralyzed in this manner.
  • Trace: (Trigger) When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.
  • Telepathy: (Passive) This Pokemon has a mental link with its allies in multiple battles, which allows it to avoid taking damage from allied attacks that damage each foe or the entire field like Blizzard and Earthquake. They are still affected by an opponents spread damage attacks.
  • Pixilate (Toggle) By default, this Pokemon's Normal-type moves are Fairy-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, this Pokemon's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2). If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

Elphaba (Misdreavus) {♀}
Nature: Timid (+15% Speed, +17% Accuracy, -1 Atk)
Type: Ghost

  • Ghost STAB; immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag abilities. Ghost Types can switch out while affected by a partial trapping move, but they will be damaged every action by their effect.
Abilities: Levitate
  • Levitate: (Passive) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-Type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit.

Keep your eyes on Azumarill and Metagross from the combatants. Each of these Pokemon carries a nice set of resistances via their secondary typing that makes it difficult for the opposition to hit super effectively and both Pokemon carry a hefty amount of power behind them. But enough rambling from me, let's get to the match! The traditional flip of a coin will determine the opening, with Heads representing the Gym Leader and Tail the Challenger.

Have a clean, fun, match gents.

Go Katherine! This is an opponent made just for you, as his annoying tricks, while powerful, won't give him the edge against someone of your caliber. Don't let his nonthreatening and quirky look fool you though, under those 3 pounds of make up there's a pretty dangerous monster, so keep your guard up don't fall for any of his funny antics and we should be able to walk out of here with a bad of pixie dust. Here have your precious Gardevoirite, may this beautiful pearl be the jewel that will top the crown of our victory!

Katherine: [Trace Filter] [Megavolve] Hyper Voice ~ Moonblast ~ Hyper Voice

...* If Bariyaado uses Taunt & you're Not Taunted then use Magic Coat (once) & push actions

This match starts off not with a bang but a whimper as Emma decides he really really really doesn't like this matchup one Fake Out and two Wide Guard's later and a grand total of 1 damage has been done. Yeah. One damage. It was negative before the damage floor kicked in. Good job Emma.

After a depressingly droll first round the challengers come out of the second gate with decidedly more pizzazz about them. Gardevoir beings by warding off Togekiss' ability to pinpoint critical areas of weakness with some African tribal chant about luck while Togekiss implodes a ball of dusky energy against its skirts. The two Pokemon then trade blows with the Fairy godmother zapping the true fairy with two well placed Thunderbolts, weathering a cutting burst of air and another ball of shadows in return. The match has been even so far, what does our challenger have in stre next for the incumbent Leader?

Katherine, you're doing a wonderful job so far, but I need you healthy for this match. So I believe I'll let my newest star come out and finish the job for us. Are you ready for her?

Gardevoirite..........................Dusk Stone.

Elphy, as my new friend, I trust you can fight this battle the way it should be fought, Togekissu is a remarkable opponent, but she's not invincible, and neither is his trainer. So time to make this star mon join her kind!

Elphaba: Thunder ~ Thunderbolt ~ Thunder

.....* If Togekissu uses a Sky Attack combo then use Protect & push actions

Togekiss: Tailwind ~ Air Slash ~ Air Slash
IF (paralyzed when you would attack) AND (Mismagius is not paralyzed) THEN (use Psycho Shift)

Mr. Mime should have acted first A1 since Tailwind was still in effect (and still is), thus Mismanages should have 14 less Hp (19 Hp)Edited accordingly

Anyway, Elphaba, you've done a wonderful job, it's time for you to get a little rest and for Kirot to come out and finish this creppy little clown!

Togekiss used Endeavor! (-31 EN)
37 fixed damage

Metagross used Iron Head! (-5 EN)
no crit (13)
(8+3+1+3)*1.5=22.5

Metagross used Bullet Punch! (-3 EN)
no crit (3)
(4+3+1+3)*1.5=16.5

Togekiss fainted!

Both combatants elect to switch out their active Pokemon with Elevator Music bringing back the weakened Togekiss while Gerard counters with newcomer Kirot the Metagross, a relative heavyweight in this gym. Togekiss jumps right out with a hefty Endeavor attack, doing the maximum possible damage for a single action attack by the Togekiss while Metagross counters by smashing Togekiss with a brutal headbutt and then finishing it up with a bullet train punch to the face; Gerard takes the lead 3-2! Despite having the advantage in Pokemon the Hp totals remain in a dead heat with it being anyone's game. With Emma ordering second, the enxt round may prove to be the decisive strike in this match!
