GWS leads with Fletchling and Protowatt, while ProtoLucario responds with Riolu and Embirch! Before ProtoLucario's Pokemon can respond, Fletchling flies up high into the sky, while Protowatt dives to hide deep underwater. Riolu tries to hit both opponents with Rock Slide, but the attack misses both targets. Embirch tries to attack with Petal Blizzard, but it misses Protowatt and Fletchling, only hitting Riolu. Fletchling then divebombs the weakened Riolu using Fly, while Protowatt gets in another hit with Dive! This doesn't look good for Riolu, who is already shaking from the three blows.

Fletchling wastes no time and goes in for a second strike, this time using a powerful Acrobatics to score an impressive amount of damage on Riolu! Protowatt continues the assault, using Muddy Water to attack both Riolu and Embirch. Riolu counters with Power-Up Punch and Embirch with Earth Power, but Gale Wing Srock's team seems to be clearly in the lead right now.

Suddenly, both Fletchling and Protowatt disappear again, one going above in the air and the other underwater. Riolu attempts to strike with Rock Slide, but it is again no good. Embirch too retries its previous tactic, but the Petal Blizzard only hits Riolu. Riolu is KOed! ProtoLucario recalls Riolu right before Fletchling can land its next Fly. Meanwhile, Protowatt comes back up to hit Embirch with Dive.

GWS is definitely in the lead right now, but ProtoLucario has a chance to bring in a fresh Pokemon to turn the tide. Anything could happen next!

Unfortunately you can't use the same Lucky Egg (or any item) more than once in a battle. The Infinite uses per battle in the NDA just means the item is not consumed at the end of battle (the way a Berry or something like Air Balloon would be). This isn't the first time this has come up, so we're gonna work on a way to clarify how it's stated in the NDA. So for this battle, Chimchar can't also use Lucky Egg, sorry :(

Alright, with Riolu down, ProtoLucario chooses to send in Chimchar next! Gale Wing Srock takes the opportunity to recall Protowatt for Embirch. Two Embirches are out now... that's gonna get confusing!

Fletchling is the first Pokemon to act, and it starts by chirping out a Taunt at the fresh Chimchar. Chimchar doesn't like that, and responds by torching GWS's Embirch with Flamethrower. GWS's Embirch counterattacks with Rock Tomb, which manages to lower Chimchar's Speed! Now Chimchar is the slowest Pokemon on the field. ProtoLucario's Embirch ends things by using Swagger on Fletchling. Fletchling's Attack goes way up, but it also looks intensely confused.

Fletchling tries to start whipping up a whirlwind, but it hits itself in confusion! Ouch! GWS's Embirch doesn't let up on the offense though, and launches a mighty Fire Blast at ProtoLucario's Embirch. Both of ProtoLucario's Pokemon futilely try to Counter... perhaps the substitutions were glossed over when ordering?

Both of GWS's Pokemon see another round of Counters coming. Fletchling sets up despite the confusion with Swords Dance, putting its Attack incredibly high. GWS's Embirch assaults Chimchar with Leech Seed... but the attack seems to have missed! Either way, both the Counters that ProtoLucario's Embirch and Chimchar attempt fail again.
