ORAS OU A Dragon and His Mole

This is the team i have been using for quite some time and decided to post it because I felt like I did a pretty good job on working out the kinks, although it kinda killed my rating on showdown.

Intro
The whole point of this team is to whittle down the opposing team with a volt-turn, rocks, and recoil to enable the Zard-X sweep. Every Pokemon on this team is just support for Zard-X.

Team Analysis

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
The evs allow Zard-X to take hits such as Rotom-W's Hydro Pump while roosting up until it misses. It works for other mons such as Specs Raikou and Heatran. It also allows it to outspeed Mega-Lop after 1 Dragon Dance. Fire Punch over Flare Blitz because recoil kills late game sweeps and if brought in properly he can easily get to plus 2 or 3.

Dugtrio @ Life Orb
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Memento
This is a simple max attack max speed set. It can revenge kill mons but it is completely situational. Its main job is to trap Heatran and ohko it with earthquake. After its job is done it can use memento to weaken the present poke and give Zard-X a guaranteed dragon dance.

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 76 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast
This is the standard tank chomp set that is there for rocks, Ferrothorn, Skarmory (It cannot ohko either of the two but it can two hit ko). If I correctly predict a belly drum Azumarill I can Earthquake the turn it belly drums and then it dies to the combination of Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin.

Raikou @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
Raikou is one of the three volt-turners on the team. It has a high chance to ohko Tank-Chomp with an hp ice. Shadow Ball isn't used much and I would be fine changing it if anyone knows a better attack. Thunderbolt to ohko Manaphy if it starts to Tailglow.

Scizor @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
This set allows Scizor to take an Hp Fire from Starmie as well as Mega-Venu. It is the defogger of the team since Zard-X doesn't appreciate them and carries Roost to regain hp after taking too much damage. Bullet punch for the priority on pokemon such as Weavile. U-Turn is there to help out the Volt-Turn Part of the team.

Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 132 HP / 160 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- Knock Off
- U-turn
This is the final part of the Volt-Turn trio. It eats special attacks thanks to the hp investment but is also able to ohko Tyranitar and Keldeo. Knock Off to deal with the ever annoying stall teams on the ladder. It carries just enough speed to outspeed Scarfed-Tar and is the main sponge of the team because of Regenerator.

Threats:
Mega-Altaria-Can set up on everything on this team
Hax-You will see in the last replay
Stealth Rocks-Scizor can take care of these most of the time

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X

Nice team, except those Sprites. They are killing me

My edits
  • Dugtrio with LO, it's got no HP so why destroy it. It's 3HKOd by Seismic Toss/Night Shade.
  • EQ and Flare Blitz should be run on ZardX
  • You don't have much description and there aren't calcs (they are useful). I'm suggest this coz I'm on a iPad but maybe on PC its less
  • Your team isn't great vs. Ice, Garchomp, Dugtrio and Tornadus-T are weak to it.

That's all I can think of for now, but I suggest heavily work on descriptions

EDIT: try find good sprites with transparency and of a similar size.

Hippowdon destroys your team

252 SpA Choice Specs Raikou Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Hippowdon: 204-242 (48.5 - 57.6%) -- 52.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Hippowdon Earthquake vs. 32 HP / 0 Def Raikou: 302-356 (91.7 - 108.2%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

with that raikou gone people just switch to a water type and spam scald to cripple your entire team

Hey man cool team! I think I got a few suggestions to help you out some! First some small changes. I would definitely run flare blitz>fire punch on zard and I would make the spread 96hp/252atk/160spe adament. Zard-x is arguably the most powerful sweeper available and fire punch really takes away from this power. For example look at these calcs below:
+1 252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 144+ Def Hippowdon: 301-355 (71.6 - 84.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-T: 223-264 (58.3 - 69.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-T: 141-166 (36.9 - 43.4%) -- 99.5% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 144+ Def Hippowdon: 187-222 (44.5 - 52.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
I think those are convincing enough :D The spread is very similar to yours but I just edited it so you outspeed adament excadrill unboosted and your original spread gave zard an even hp number so it was taking 50% from stealth rocks while with an odd number it takes 49% which this spread achieves.

I'd also change LO to focus sash on duggy and reversal>sucker punch. Duggy is designed for trapping very specific mons or revenging things that are very low on hp so sash works a lot better on it. This allows you to successfully trap mons like raikou and manec while taking an hp ice, hell duggy can come into an hp ice from raikou and trap it. Reversal allows duggy to fire off some stronger hits after it's sash has been broken allowing it to revenge a few things at a higher hp number. Most of the mons that are faster than duggy that sucker punch is used for are not really affected by sucker or are not trapped at all such as Maero, really sucker is only for Mzam in my eyes.

I would next change the torn-t spread to 104hp/52atk/100spatk/252spe timid and change focus blast to superpower or if you are fine with focus blast change the spread to 96hp/160spatk/252spe timid. The increase in speed from your current spread allows you to outspeed alakazam which is becoming popular right now so this increase in speed allows torn-t to check zam more effectively. If you are fine with focus blast's accuracy than no need to read further but if that accuracy bothers you that first spread+superpower is for you(credit to zamrock for that icy spread). The atk investment allows you to take out ttar after rocks while the spatk investment allows you to KO keldeo after rocks. That may seem a little odd to not OHKO keldeo 100% of the time with hurricane but achieving 6% damage is not hard and av torn-t hard checks keldeo anyways so not like it will stay in until later in the game when it's weakened. The rest of the ev's are dumped into hp for general bulk.

Last small change is I would change fire blast to toxic on garchomp and the spread to 252hp/164def/92spe impish. It's for a very simple reason really. Zard-x sets up on ferro and sciz so toxicing bulky waters such as slowbro would be a lot more beneficial in aiding a late game zard sweep. The spread allows you to outspeed bisharp which is a threat to you currently so out pacing it with chomp will help out a lot.

Now I have a larger change for you. I would change raikou to latias and scizor to band zor. Your team has zero water resists allowing keldeo to come in and snag kills or at the very least huge chunks of hp off of torn-t. It also does not help that your defogger is a free switch for keldeo. This change gives you a solid answer to keldeo and other water attacks and the change to band scizor also gives you a hard check for fairies and a nice wallbreaker for the team. Roost is run over healing wish on latias because you're relying on it to take repeated water attacks. This makes you a bit weaker to talonflame but some variants beat raikou anyways and you also have tankchomp to handle it.

Cool team hope I helped! I'l leave all my suggestions in the tab below. Good luck with the team!
