[OVERVIEW]

Abomasnow is a super hard counter to a majority of the Water-types, as it can effortlessly wall Pokemon such as Suicune, Rotom-W, Ludicolo, and Politoed. Abomasnow has access to a very strong and spammable move, Blizzard. Its low Speed and good all-around bulk allows it to perform very well under Trick Room; however, it is difficult to use Abomasnow outside of Trick Room due to its low Speed and weakness to many common types. Abomasnow is also easily walled by common Pokemon such as Heatran and Aegislash.

Moves
========

Blizzard is Abomasnow's strongest STAB attack and is its most spammed move. Giga Drain is Abomasnow's Grass-type STAB move that provides coverage against Water-types and also provides longevity. Wood Hammer is a great choice against more specially defensive Pokemon, such as Sylveon, which can tank a Blizzard nicely. It isn't recommended, however, to use it with Focus Sash because that will be counterproductive due to recoil damage. Ice Shard lets Abomasnow pick off weakened Pokemon, such as Landorus-T, outside of Trick Room. Protect is to scout and save Abomasnow from attacks such as Brave Bird from Talonflame, which will then allow Abomasnow's partner to KO or weaken the Pokemon.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack EVs with a Quiet nature and 0 IVs in Speed are for maximum damage output and because Abomasnow should have the lowest Speed possible for Trick Room. Maximum HP EVs give Abomasnow some bulk because investing in Speed wouldn't be necessary. Focus Sash is the preferred item for Abomasnow, as it frees up your Trick Room team to use a different Mega Evolution such as Mega Camerupt or Mega Mawile. Abomasite is an option so that Abomasnow can Mega Evolve and gain boosted offenses and defenses. Life Orb boosts Abomasnow's attacks without the use of Abomasite. If Abomasnow is running Wood Hammer, switch its item to Life Orb and change its EV spread to 252 HP / 52 Atk / 204 SpA so that Abomasnow will always OHKO 252 HP / 44 Def Rotom-W with Wood Hammer.

Usage Tips
========

Most of the time, Abomasnow should be spamming Blizzard. Giga Drain or Wood Hammer should be used when there is a Water-type out. Due to Abomasnow's many weaknesses, it isn't recommended to switch it in unless it's into an Electric- or Water-type attack. Generally, Abomasnow can take Electric- and Water-type attacks very well, which allows it to switch in against Pokemon such as Thundurus and Suicune very easily. Leading with a Trick Room setter alongside Abomasnow works well, as you'll be able to abuse Abomasnow's slow Speed right from the start without having to find an opportunity to switch it in safely.

Team Options
========

Pairing Abomasnow with a partner that has access to Helping Hand and Trick Room, such as Cresselia, will benefit Abomasnow a lot, as Cresselia will be able to boost the power of Blizzard. Cresselia is also able to get rid of Fighting-types that threaten Abomasnow. Other Trick Room setters that pair up well with Abomasnow are Gothitelle, which can check Fighting-types and provide Helping Hand support, and Jellicent, which checks Fire-types and Aegislash. Heatran is another great partner, as its Flash Fire ability will discourage the use of Heat Wave and it can also check Steel- and Rock-types that threaten Abomasnow. Heatran is benefited by Abomasnow because it checks bulky Water-types, such as Rotom-W, which usually give Heatran trouble. Terrakion, although a bit fast for Trick Room, helps Abomasnow out by checking Steel- and Flying-types. Abomasnow, in turn, can get rid of Landorus-T, which gives Terrakion problems. Other Pokemon that can make use of Blizzard, such as Gastrodon, Swampert, and Milotic, are great partners. Gastrodon is benefited by Abomasnow's removal of Grass-types, while Gastrodon helps by checking Fire-types that threaten Abomasnow. Swampert is essentially the same as Gastrodon, but because it has access to Wide Guard, it can protect Abomasnow from Heat Wave or Rock Slide. If you're using Abomasnow outside of Trick Room, Greninja is a really niche option for a teammate, as it synergizes really well with Abomasnow. Greninja checks Aegislash and Fire-types, while the hail and Blizzard can make it a pretty decent hail attacker. Abomasnow also gets rid of bulky Water-types that Greninja generally has trouble breaking through.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Focus Blast is an option over Ice Shard to hit Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn super effectively, while Earthquake is a more reliable option to hit Heatran and Aegislash. Energy Ball is an option over Giga Drain should you want a stronger Grass-type STAB move. Hidden Power Fire can be used to hit Scizor and Aegislash, though it would not do as much to Aegislash. If using Mega Abomasnow, Soundproof is a nice ability for Abomasnow, allowing it to switch into Sylveon's Hyper Voice for free.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Abomasnow is easily walled by common Steel-types, most notably Aegislash. Mega Mawile and Scizor are also big counters, as they can generally switch into Abomasnow's STAB moves with ease and force it out with an Iron Head and Bullet Punch/Bug Bite, respectively. Mega Mawile also functions well under Trick Room, while Scizor can set up a Swords Dance. Heatran is a big check because it can force Abomasnow out with a Heat Wave. Abomasnow also has to rely on Focus Blast, which has pretty mediocre accuracy, to hit Heatran hard.

**Fire-types**: Common Fire-types such as Heatran and Rotom-H wall both of Abomasnow's STAB moves. Rotom-H is a big counter because Abomasnow doesn't have a reliable way of hitting it. Mega Charizard Y is a big check because the sun negates Blizzard's 100% accuracy.

**Wide Guard**: Although not a foolproof way of countering Abomasnow, Wide Guard shuts down Abomasnow's Blizzard, which will cripple it immensely.

**Typing Advantage**: Abomasnow has many weaknesses. Many Pokemon that carry these moves are very common such as Aegislash, Terrakion, and Heatran. Most of them can easily force out Abomasnow or OHKO it.

Alrighty, let's get this QCed:

  • List in the overview that Abomasnow is about as hard a counter to a majority of Water-types as you can get. It effortlessly walls Rotom-W, Suicune, Politoed, and Ludicolo, among others.
  • I want Focus Sash to be slashed over Abomasite. This frees you up to use another powerful Trick Room mega like Camerupt or Mawile.
  • From some quick calcs, I think that Giga Drain should be the main slash and Energy Ball moved to other options. You don't score an OHKO on 252 HP no bulk Rotom-W with Energy Ball. You do score a 2HKO on Suicune if it's low on SpDef investment, but I think the longevity with Giga Drain is preferred.
  • Since Focus Sash is the primary slash now, change the ability to Snow Warning. I think that switching in to get hail up that turn is super valuable so I'd like to move Soundproof to other options with a mention that it's usable for Mega Abomasnow and can let it switch into a Sylveon's Hyper Voice for free.
  • Change the mention to switching more to something emphasizing it can only really switch in on water and electric attacks.
  • Give Gothitelle and Jellicent mentions as other Trick Room users
  • Mention other Blizzard users can go well with Abomasnow. Give a large mention to water-types since they have excellent synergy with Abomasnow offensively and defensively
  • Remove the Earthquake mention in Other Options

Once that's done:

Mega Charizard Y is a big check since the sun well negate Blizzard's 100% accuracy.

Also, about the "since" and "because" part, since refers more to time.

Example: Ever since the release of ORAS, Mega Salamence has been the biggest threat to the OU tier.

Despite being crippled with the loss of permanent Hail in the transition from gen 5, Abomasnow is still a good pick because it is a 'still' doesn't make any sense after the other fluff was removed, and this bit here is still fluff super hard counter to a majority of the Water-types, as it can effortlessly wall Pokemon such as Suicune, Rotom-W, Ludicolo, Politoed. Wood Hammer is a great choice against more specially defensive Pokemon, such as Sylveon, who which can tank a Blizzard nicely. It isn't recommended, ; ( , comma ==> Semi colon ;) however, to use using it with Focus Sash since that'll just will be counterproductive because of recoil damage. this sentence just wasn't changed correctly. With a semicolon, 'It isn't recommended' is one statment, which is saying that Wood Hammer should not be used. Then you say 'however, using it with a Focus Sash will be counterproductive'. That's two separate statements. However, we want this sentence to be one statement so a comma should stay there. However, the 'since' should be changed to 'because' and 'because of recoil damage' is a good addition. If its this isn't correct. Needs an apostrophe. I prefer it without the 'its' anyway though, as 'it' was used to describe Wood Hammer before, where as in this sentence it's used to describe Abomasnow. using Wood Hammer, it is best to have Life Orb as the item as well as gotta keep the tense the same changing change its if 'its' wasn't changed to 'Abomasnow is' before, change this 'its' to 'Abomasnow's' EV spread to 252 HP / 52 Atk / 204 SpA, (AC) so that Abomasnow will always OHKO 252 HP / 44 Def Rotom-W. This comma change here is odd. With this change the format is 'When using wood hammer, it is best to do this, so that OHKO etc'. 'When using wood hammer, it is best' forms an independent clause, not a dependent one. Maybe it's not entirely incorrect, but I believe 'it is best to do this so that X' rather than 'it is best to do this, so that X' is better, especially when a dependent clause is at the front of the whole thing. (Then I probably would put Life Orb in the set as well, or this can go to the Other Options part instead.) Ice Shard lets Abomasnow pick off weakened Pokemon, like such as Landorus-T, outside of Trick Room. Protect is to scout and save Abomasnow from attacks such as Brave Bird from Talonflame, (AC) which will then allow Abomasnow's partner to KO or weaken the Pokemon.

Maximum Special Attack EVs with a Quiet nature and 0 IVs in Speed are for maximum damage output 'maximum this for that' doesn't make sense and since because Abomasnow should have the lowest Speed possible for Trick Room. Focus Sash is the preferred item for Abomasnow, as it frees up your Trick Room team to use another a different Mega Pokemon such as Mega Camerupt and Mega Mawile. Abomasite is an option so that Abomasnow can Mega Evolve and gain boosted offenses and defenses. Most of the time, Abomasnow should be spamming Blizzard. Giga Drain or Wood Hammer should be used when there is a Water-type out. (Period) Terrakion, although a bit fast for Trick Room, helps out Abomasnow out not entirely needed by checking Steel- and Flying-types. Abomasnow, in turn, can get rid of Landorus-T who that gives this is more set up to call Landorus-T plural, which would mean 'give' instead of 'gives'. Otherwise, I believe it should be 'Landorus-T, (comma) which gives' Terrakion problems. Other Pokemon that can make use of Blizzard, such as Gastrodon, Swampert, and Milotic, are great partners. Gastrodon is benefited by Abomasnow's removal of Grass-types, (AC) while Gastrodon helps by checking Fire-types that threaten Abomasnow. If you're using Abomasnow outside of Trick Room, Greninja is a (lowercase) really niche option for a teammate, if you're using Abomasnow outside of Trick Room, is Greninja as it synergizes really well provides great synergy Greninja has great synergy, not provides. You can't provide synergy, unless Greninja and Abomasnow are 'providing synergy' to the whole team, I guess with Abomasnow. Greninja checks Aegislash and Fire-types, (AC) while the hail (lowercase) and Blizzard can make it a pretty decent hail attacker with Blizzard. you caught the first one, but not these Abomasnow also gets rid of bulky Water-types that Greninja generally has trouble breaking through.

**Steel-types**: Abomasnow is easily walled by common Steel-types, most notably Aegislash. Mega Mawile and Scizor is another are also big counters, (AC) as it they can generally switch into Abomasnow's STABs moves with ease and force it out with an Iron Head and Bullet Punch / (space) not space imo. Slashes with spaces are really only used for EV spreads and move spreads, not and & or usage on Smogon. This can be fixed by saying 'Punch or Bug Bite', too. Bug Bite, (AC) respectively. Mega Mawile also functions well under Trick Room, (AC) while Scizor can set up a Swords Dance. Heatran is a big check since because it can force it Abomasnow out with a Heat Wave. Abomasnow also has to rely on Focus Blast, which has a I like no 'a' here pretty mediocre accuracy, to hit Heatran hard.

**Fire-types**: Common Fire-types such as Heatran, which was mentioned above, and Rotom-H walls both of Abomasnow's STABs attacks. (STAB moves / attacks are preferred) Rotom-H is a big counter since because Abomasnow doesn't have a reliable way of hitting it. Mega Charizard Y is a big check since because the sun well negates Blizzard's 100% accuracy.

**Wide Guard**: Although not too big of a foolproof way of countering Abomasnow, Wide Guard shuts down Abomasnow's best move Blizzard, which will cripple it immensely.

**Typing Advantage**: Abomasnow has many weaknesses. Many of those Pokemon that carry these moves are very common as well such as Aegislash, Terrakion, and Heatran, etc. no 'etc'. Just end it on Heatran Most of them can easily force out Abomasnow or OHKO it.

Updated. I'm a bit confuse on what to change in the sentence "It isn't recommended, however, to use it with Focus Sash since that'll just be counterproductive." So do I use "It isn't recommended, however, using it with Focus Sash will be counterproductive because of recoil damage." or keep it with the original except swap out the since with "because" and add the "because of recoil damage"?

DaAwesomeDude1 The final sentence should be "It isn't recommended, however, to use it with a Focus Sash, because that will be counterproductive due to recoil damage." Two 'because' in the sentence seem odd, so I made the second 'due to'.

Most of the time, Abomasnow should be spamming Blizzard. Giga Drain or Wood Hammer should be used when there is a Water-type out. Due to Abomasnow's many weaknesses, it isn't recommended to switch it in unless it's (add space) into an Electric- or Water-type attack. Generally, Abomasnow can take Electric- and Water-type attacks very well, which allows it to switch in against Pokemon such as Thundurus and Suicune (keep it consistent) and Thundurus very easily. Leading with a Trick Room setter alongside Abomasnow works well, as you'll be able to abuse Abomasnow's slow Speed right from the start without having to find an opportunity to switch it in safely.

Other Options
=============

Hidden Power Fire can be used to hit Scizor and Aegislash, though it would not do as much to it. (what's it?) If using Mega Abomasnow, Soundproof is a nice ability for Abomasnow, allowing it to switch into Sylveon's Hyper Voice for free.

Checks & and Counters
===================
