Darkness Ridge said:
Darkness_Ridge.png

This mountainous area may be inhabited by mischievous Pokémon who can suddenly turn the area dark to cause trouble.

Populated largely by Dark- and Ghost-type Pokemon, Darkness Ridge lies upon the mountain range to the east of Pokemon Square. With a vast area of mountaintops ranging from flat to undulating, the terrain is suitable for battling, and there is plenty of room for movement both along the ground and through the open sky. Pokemon's ghastly will-o-wisps light the arena most of the time, tinging the ground an ominous purple hue, but more importantly providing enough visibility for normal battles to occur. Whilst there is no water source of any description here, the Pokemon travel a short distance to a central stream through one of the range's many valleys to drink and meet Pokemon from elsewhere in the mountains. You and your Pokemon, however, are forbidden from travelling from the arena to the stream. Assorted piles of rocks of all sizes litter the ridge, and various types of vegetation, both live and dead, are scattered around the arena's outskirts. Seismic activity is permitted too, albeit with a little bit of disapproval from the local Vulpix and Ninetales.

The ridge's inhabitants, however, are a playful bunch, and will consistently cause some chaos for any foreigners to the region, rescue teams and battlers alike. For rescue teams, they darken the area to leave the other Pokemon in suspense and fear, yet are ultimately harmful. For battlers, they enjoy disrupting the normal flow of battle. Before the first round, and between each subsequent round, the will-o-wisps illuminating the arena disappear, causing the whole area to become pitch black. They do not want to disrupt the battling itself, so they re-illuminate the arena before each round. In order to make the battle more evenly footed, however, they will interrupt the battle if one battler tries to order before the other, forcing trainers to order simultaneously each round, after their Pokemon and their opponent's Pokemon have been revealed. They may be mischievous, but they value a good battle, so they won't affect the battle in any way apart from plunging the arena into complete darkness at regular intervals.

Effects:
  • Simultaneous blind sendout Round 1, and simultaneous blind switch in each subsequent round, before orders. Self-switching and switch-forcing moves have these effects removed, but other effects such as damage will remain
  • Simultaneous blind orders in every round
  • Encore is banned from use, and will cause the user to Struggle if ordered
Codifications:
  • No external water source
  • Arena is poorly lit, causing Morning Sun, Moonlight, and Synthesis to recover 15HP each use
  • Camouflage makes the user a Dark-type
  • Secret Power can flinch
  • Nature Power calls Rock Slide

Y'know, this place is dark ._., I mean, I've been to the Ghost Gym before, I've been to the Dark Gym before, but THIS is the darkest arena (in terms of lighting) I've ever been to ^^;. Flounder lend us some of your light, these wisps aren't giving us enough.

Dexter | Heracross (M)
_______________________________

Dexter is the boy genius of Huber - Ohio. He wanted to build a new pokemon suit and while he was building the suit, His sister Dee Dee sneaked into his laboratory and asked him, "What does this button do?" and before Dexter could stop her, there was an explosion; and when the smoke settled, Dexter had became a Heracross. Scared of all the citizens throwing stones at him, Dexter left his home and went far away. Fletchner found him sobbing on his own, while he was on his Journey through Huber. Dexter immediately took a liking towards Fletchner and decided to aide him in searching for the Flaming Bird. This made him Jolly and he enjoyed a time off from all the scientific experiments going wrong around him.

As darkness scattered across the field so did silence...It was like the Battler's Pokemon are waiting......Waiting until they get a chance to see each other eye to eye....

And all of a sudden the Ghouls shine their Wisps once again and off the Pokemon went!

Scizor is the first to strike but not at her opponent, but instead she knocks off the Druddigon's Life Orb! making Nike's attacks weaker. Nike was able to get the Scizor to glare into her eyes and send an intense fear all through the Scizor's body, making her slow to react!

Scizor couldn't take the terrifying stare and maneuver herself away from the Druddigon and into the darkness of the forest. Nike goes and searches for her but to no avail and returns to the battlefield and spreads Stealth Rocks across her opponent's side of the field. From the forest, Scizor emits intense sounds directly towards the battlefield. All the Dark-Type Pokemon cower away, The Ghost-Types turns off their wisps and the arena goes back into darkness...

From the left side all you can hear is a Pokeball retrieving it's monster and another releasing one. It roars as it is summoned, shaking the trees around the scene, the Ghost Pokemon had to see what the left opponent had bring.

They illuminated the arena and they see the new 'mon on the field, an Aggron with a Mega Stone has come to play, and appears the Scizor has come to stay.

They turn the lights off and giggled and wait, which trainer will order right and have at their side, fate.

The ghost hear clashing, they illuminate the arena again. Immediately they spotted the Aggron Punch a tree, setting it ablaze, Scizor moving swiftly across the field, it is assumed that she dodged the attack.

She then gets into a stance, waiting for her opponent to come at her again, the Aggron seen that stance before and knew not to come close, instead he sent a massive blast of fire towards the Scizor, melting its metallic body.

Finally Aggron copies a similar stance that Scizor had made, but began to glow whihte as well. The Scizor took this opportunity to find a tree, that wasn't on fire and rest upon it, restoring some energy, and fixing its metallic coating.

The Pokemon around the arena put out the fire with multiple water pulses (since like almost every mon gets that move) and let the battle grow dark once again...
