I would put "Gym Test" somewhere on the title, but it is a plain 4vs4, so oh well.

Arena: The Glittering Caves

You stand before a massive and thick wall. A wall that has stood the battles of old. Near impenetrable. A true testament to the strength of stone. But you notice a gaping hole. As though a soldier caused on explosion that tore it asunder. The only way to impregnate the barrier and enter its womb. The Deeping Wall protected the entrance to a most valuable door. A door to a cave of awe.

"Have we met before?"

You hear an echo from deep within the cave. You feel like you can see for miles with no end to the caves in sight. No man or myth flutters before you. Yet the echo is not faint. Almost as though it is amplified by something. But you see nothing. Nothing but beauty. The walls of the caves glisten with gem and crystals. Veins of precious ore glint in the polished walls.

"Must I ask you twice? Have we met before?"

Still as loud as before, but you see nothing. Your mouth lies agape as you venture further into the caves. Such beauty is unfathomable.

As you stand gaping at this cave of wonders, your trance is broken by the coiling of stone around your chest. Quickly you are whisked away deeper into the caves. Faster and faster you seem to move, as column after stalactite after tunnel fly by you. Finally, you are flung off of your captor.

"This is the third time I am asking you; Have we met before?"

You look up and see man attached to a mop. Sorry, heavily bearded man. Billy Gibbons would tell him to shave.

"By your refusal to answer, I will assume we have not."

The man walks around for a bit. Pacing, is more like it.

"I suppose I can put it off for a little bit longer."

The man lifts you to your feet.

"You must be here to challenge Akela for the Ore Badge. I am him. So please follow me to the arena. Sigmund!"

Again, you feel the coiling of stone around your chest, this time realizing that an Onix is taking you even deeper into the caves. Just how deep do these caves go? Surely you must have traversed a region by now.

Akela sees to entering another trance as the colors of the ores and marble stimulate your cones and rods.

"You have not seen, so I forgive your jest." ... "But you speak like a fool.... when the torches are kindled and men walk on the sandy floors under the echoing domes, ah! then, gems and crystals and veins of precious ore glint in the polished walls; and the light glows through folded marbles, shell-like, translucent as the living hands of the Goddess. There are columns of white and saffron and dawn-rose, fluted and twisted into dreamlike forms; they spring up from many-coloured floors to meet the glistening pendants of the roof: wings, ropes, curtains fine as frozen clouds; spears, banners, pinnacles of suspended palaces!… Do you cut down groves of blossoming trees in the springtime for firewood? We would tend these glades of flowering stone, not quarry them…"

What is he going on about? You feel like you are having a bad trip.

"We are here."

The Onix gently sets you back on the ground before shuffling into a smaller cave.

"Thank you Sigmund."

"Now, are you ready for battle? I hope you are. It is a long trek back to the outside, and Sigmund has earned a break today."

Summary:
-Sturdy Reduces the effectiveness of Stealth Rock by one (1) stage.
-Earthquake, Fissure, Magnitude, Earth Power, and Bulldoze can strike all Pokemon on the field, including the user. You are in a cave system. Do you really think Seismic attacks are a safe idea?
-High Jump Kick, Jump Kick, and Sky Uppercut cause a flat three (3) damage to the user in recoil. Crash Damage still occurs if the move misses. You are in a cave system. Not a lot of room to jump high or fly in.
-Rock-types gain a flat ten percent (10%) Accuracy Boost to STAB moves, due to their experience in battling within enclosed spaces.
-Nature Power is Power Gem.
-Camouflage results in Rock-type.
-Secret Power has a 30% chance to flinch.

Round 1!

Welcome everybody to the first test of the soon to be rock gym!

Our host, akela, has chosen to create his gym on a cave. Better than a pool, I guess.

Since this is a cave, seismic moves are a liability at best and you can't really jump and stuff as nicely as you would want, so it is a good enviroment for rocks.

The challenger (somewhat), pwnemon brough a set of mons with STAB advantage versus rock. On a real challenge, that is the kind of team you will usually see.

Enough blabbing.

The battle starts with akela sending out the defensive behemoth Rhydon with Eviolite. Pwnemon counters with Ludicolo with Expert Belt.

Ludicolo begins this match by pretty much drowning Rhydon with Hydro Pump. But it seems that pwnemon forgot something important, as the rhydon countered with a powerful metal burst for even more damage.

Knowing that the other option was worse, Rhydon charged with his megahorn, facing a powerful counter in return. But at least no healing, right? That would be a hassle.

But then I saw the "and pushback" >_<;.

Ludicolo finished with Giga Drain, countered by a metal burst.

And despite the massive weaknesses, Rhydon managed to put up a good fight. I have no hopes that it will defeat the Ludicolo, but it was impressive nonetheless.

In ASB Rebound always takes up an action. Just compare Intimidate and Rebound: you will see that Intimidate states specifically that it works on the send out and may work as a command later. Rebound just mentions command. In the other hand, you can Rebound after you switch in normally.
