Other Metagames All Hail Arceus - Balanced Hackmons Stall

First off I'd like to say that the rise of PH TTar was a massive bitch to this team and I had to edit it so much it's almost completely unrecognizable.
Second off I'd like to say that this team was the first major step for me in my quest to innovate my way to the top of the BH ladder.
Thirdly I'd like to present the history of this team.

This team, believe it or not, did not start off as a Stall team. It actually started off as a Bulky Offense team with Double Kyogre and Double Imposter. At the time I was learning most of the fundamental concepts of BH, and I had one slot left on my team to fill. I wanted something that could check Mega Diancie and Poison Heal Primal Kyogre while also having Imposters be checkable by something else on the team. At the time, Desolate Land Primal Groudon was an obvious choice because I had Fur Coat Primal Kyogre to check it. However, when Primals got banned from BH, this team was my only legal team. Primal Kyogre wasn't too hard to replace - I just used regular Kyogre - but I couldn't do the same with Primal Groudon as it needed its Fire subtype to adequately check Mega Diancie. After a while of theorymonning, I came up with a gimmicky Mega Venusaur set that could trap and PP stall imposters while beating Poison Heal Kyogre with Entrainment (At the time, most did not run Ice Beam - they used Moonblast or Leech Seed instead) and using its unique defensive typing and Flash Fire to check Diancie. The set worked wonders in the Balance team.

Later on, I decided to make a more defensive team. I settled on the common Double Chansey (Imposter + Fur Coat), with Poison Heal Yveltal to patch up a Mega Gengar weakness. I added my Mega Venusaur set because Poison Heal Kyogre was often chosen as a stallbreaker, and for very good reason - it beat most common Poison Healers on stall, and Unaware walls risked a burn from Scald. Safety Goggles Registeel was chosen to beat -ates other than Diancie, which often ran Spore back then.

But that left the question of what to run in the last slot? I was somewhat Contrary weak, relying on my Imposter counter-sweeping to prevent Contrary from running through my team. Since Shedinja was commonly used as Imposter-proofing for Contrary users, I needed something that not only beat Shedinja, but could also remove it simply by switching in. A variety of Mold Breaker users were tested, but those were too passive or not bulky enough to suit my purposes. Eventually, I gave up on Mold Breaker, and went for something else entirely.

You see, the rest of my team was good enough that I could afford to dedicate a team slot almost entirely to keeping Shedinja off the field long enough for my Imposter to beat Contrary. So I wanted an auto-weather setter. I settled on Arceus as if it got on the field safely, it could beat a Mega Rayquaza behind a substitute. Beating Mega Rayquaza behind a Sub is amazing for a stall team. So all I needed to do was give it an appropriate moveset and I could finally fill the last slot.

But why Hail?

Hail does almost nothing compared to Sand. It doesn't give Rock types their SpD boost, or activate Sand Rush/Sand Force.

That is precisely why I chose it. Sand wouldn't have helped my team more than Hail does, as I have no Rock types or Sand Rush/Veil/Force users, and my Safety Goggles users were either already immune to Sand or would be hurt by both Sand and Hail. You see, in BH, making minor teambuilding decisions revolves less around helping yourself and more around not helping your opponent. So Sand and Hail both did the exact same thing for me (I never planned to run Blizzard due to lack of PP), but Sand is much more likely to help my opponent than Hail. As a bonus, I could also shut down Sand Rush sweepers and Sand teams.

Here's the team.

Arceus-Hail (Arceus-Bug) @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 120 HP / 172 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Boomburst
- Ice Beam
- Milk Drink
- Taunt

One of the two innovations I made out of necessity. EVs allow me to outspeed and OHKO Rayquaza with Ice Beam. (Boomburst also KOs if the Ray is behind a sub due to Hail damage) Snow Warning prevents non-Goggles Shedinja from switching in for 5 turns, allowing me to prey on teams that use Shedinja to Imposter Proof. Taunt helps break some walls like Audino and stops Heal Bell from occurring.

Get gimmick'd (Venusaur-Mega) @ Venusaurite
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 84 Def / 176 SpD
Bold Nature
- Entrainment
- Thousand Waves
- Giga Drain
- Slack Off

The other really important innovation. Beats Imposters, Kyogre, Trick users, TTar without Diamond Storm (You still force it out if it has diamond storm), Diancie, and more. Surprisingly bulky. It's VERY important to prevent Thousand Waves from being revealed prematurely, although players who know this team should expect it from team preview.

Fakin' Bacon (Yveltal) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Roost
- Spiky Shield
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp

Not much to say about this. Only really beats Gengar, but it cripples almost everything that switches in to it. Only Poison Heal Audino is really safe, and even then you prevent its teammates from Heal Belling. Almost always use this as your lead. Spiky Shield practically guarantees safe Toxic Orb activation.

pls say ur order (Registeel) @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Defog
- Heal Order
- Metal Burst
- U-turn

Defogger. Pivoting is still important even for defensive teams, especially when you can't afford to lead with Yveltal due to the possibility of a Gengar manually Mega Evolving and Encoring you into Spiky Shield. Regenerator allows me to recover without using PP and helps Imposter proof Taunt Arceus.

The egg came first (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Fur Coat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Wish
- Milk Drink
- Metal Burst
- Whirlwind

Free Hugs! (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Imposter
Happiness: 100
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Fake Out
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Parting Shot

Double Chansey is a common core on Stall teams. Imposter is completely obvious and the moves are all minimal optimizations, as 99% of the time when this fails to transform you will be clicking Fake Out.
Fur Coat Chansey can pass humongous Wishes to the rest of the team and is a blanket check to almost everything that doesn't have Scald, Spore, or Knock Off.
