Hey all. I could use some help with this team. I've had moderate-to-good success with it in about 50 or so battles, and any improvements would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
(Mega) Ampharos @ Ampharosite
Ability: Static // Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Dragon Pulse
- Thunder Wave
Originally Mega Gengar, I decided to improve my core and synergy instead. Thunder Wave seems to work to slow down hyper offense, while Thunderbolt and Dragon Pulse give Mega Ampharos really good coverage. Mega Ampharos is surprisingly bulky, as well. Volt tackle is present to make up the VoltTurn with Greninja, who can cover her weaknesses fairly well.
Greninja @ Expert Belt
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Dark Pulse
- U-Turn
- Ice Beam
Greninja is the cleaner of the team. Assuming the choice scarfer is dispatched, Greninja can come in mid-to late game and SE pretty much everything. Carries U-turn to form the VoltTurn synergy with Ampharos.
Aegislash @ Spooky Plate
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP
Brave Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
- King's Shield
- Swords Dance
Standard Aegislash set. I've been considering using the mixed variant, but I already have enough special damage coming through with the other members of the team. Aegislash assists the Ampharos/Greninja core with typing, and can help sweep late game if predictions allow a setup.
Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
Bulky special wall Sylveon can already tank special hits like a champ, but investing in defense allows her to take hits on both stats. Calm Mind setups allow Sylveon to strike back even harder than the already high uninvested Sp.Atk, using excellent coverage options between Moonblast and Shadow Ball.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Speed
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn
- Acrobatics
- Pursuit
Trapper sweeper of the team. Classic Scizor set, likely doesn't need much explanation. Acrobatics over Superpower, because pre-bank.
Goodra @ Assault Vest
Ability: Gooey
EVs: 252 Sp.Atk / 252 HP
Modest Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Sludge Bomb
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
This thing is a tank. She's been doing work as a Talonflame killer, and can cover most things while taking plenty of hits. Assault Vest helps put her Sp.Def through the roof, making it difficult to get by her. With the addition of Mega Ampharos, Goodra may come out for a more dedicated role, but so far, she's been very good at what she does.
