Abilities:

Defeatist: pokemon is prehistoric form of staraptor, now to be serious. Attack and special attack are halved when hp goes down below half.

If you are using archeops, this is probably your best bet on using it. flying gem acrobatics hits just about as hard as CB staraptor's Brave Bird. Which will allow you to KO threats that would have switched in and brought you into defeatist range. Stone edge is your auxillary attack to use against anything that resists acrobatics. Earthquake provides you utility against steels that resist your STAB's. the last slot is up to you, Hp ice can allow you to hit the rare gligar, and maybe a few other pokes, Hone claws allows you to power up your attacks even further (and get a 100% accurate stone edge)... If you can set it up. U-turn basically gives you an escape button against any counter to archeops that may switch in, and also allows you to scout. Use u-turn if you are leading with archeops.

This set hits like a truck, for one maybe two turns. Aerial ace over acrobatics because with an item this is your strongest flying STAB (unfortunatley). Stone edge should be your main attack on this set, hitting like a truck with CB, Earthquake allows you to hit those pesky steels that would stand in your way otherwise, now last but not least. HEAD SMASH!!!!!! this may seem very dumb on a pokemon with defeatist but it actually hits as hard as a non-defeatist rock slide! this will allow you to still pose a threat after you are below Half health. If you do not like Head smash, you can use u-turn over it to scout and escape possible switch ins to counter archeops.


all staraptor jokes refer to ability and staraptors appearance, along with similar stats, typing, and role. A frail/crippled powerful attacker.

there is no need for hp ice as there arent any flying scorpions in OU. maybe hp fire? or just use something else.

I think gligar is RU, but it would be total setup bait for a SubHone set.

Lefties with earthquake, flight gem with acro. Substitute keeps it from being revenged by Krow and other threats, as it can outspeed many threats to set up a sub then set up on them, and it naturally resists Brave Bird meaning that you can sub down and attack. Even at below 50% hp, its attacks will HURT at +1.

Cool set, Kenshiro. Stone Edge is obviously better paired with EQ imo. If I wanted to use Acrobatics, it would most likely replace Stone Edge.
 
Nice set. At +2 you will be hitting @ normal attack below 50% Archeops gets crippled by SR and priority, so take that out first

Archeops later evolved into Aerodactyl, which later evolved into... wait for it... Zubat.

come on, it has DEFEATIST!!!! Which means underconfident, which eventually becomes emo bird. but your explanation is pretty good too

Edit: and flying gem acrobatics has near equal power to cb star's brave bird
 
My Archeops of choice is anti-lead

Jolly @ Bug Gem (gimmicky I know, but you can run flight gem if you prefer)

Taunt
U-turn
Acrobatics
Rockslide (for accuracy/flinch off of the high speed)

This will (most of the time) be your lead. No one expects the taunt and then you switch out with a bug gem boosted U-turn. You can come in later without too many problems since you (hopefully) taunted the opposing SR pokemon, and your acrobatics will hit harder now that you've used up your bug gem.
