Balanced Hackmons Community Create-a-Team (Testing post-Protean team)

Laxpras

One small yeet for man, one giant yeet for mankind
Neither team member is close to imposter proof at the moment, and they are both very weak to diancie and kyurem. Registeel helps solve this problem

Registeel @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Nuzzle
- Stealth Rock/Defog/Gastro Acid
- Recover
- Parting Shot

This set should be able to switch into either of our Ray's impostered, as well as opposing standard Rays/Diancies/Kyurem's unless they have something like precipice blades. Nuzzle is a great move for crippling offensive threats, recovery is mandatory, and parting shot is the preferred pivot option. Stealth rock and defog both offer good support, but gastro acid is good for something like PH Tyranitar.

Steelix-Mega @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Gastro Acid
- Sacred Fire
- Milk Drink

Hard walls both impostered M-rays & provides a semi-reliable pivot. Knock off to get rid of toxic orbs etc. Gastro Acid + Sacred fire to fish for burns to cripple magic bounce sweepers or to negate poison heal / protean / -ate.

252+ Atk Aerilate Mega Rayquaza Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 57-67 (16.1 - 18.9%) -- possible 6HKO
252+ SpA Protean Mega Rayquaza Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Mega Steelix: 119-141 (33.6 - 39.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Pixie Plate Protean Mega Rayquaza Judgment vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Mega Steelix: 102-121 (28.8 - 34.1%) -- 2.8% chance to 3HKO

Are the person who submit sets allowed to vote? And if yes,can they vote their own set?
They can vote, they cannot vote for themself.

Edit because I hate the post Key:
With these excellent team members, the obvious next pick is another MRay:
Rayquaza-Mega @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Oblivion Wing
- Magma Storm
- Tail Glow
- Substitute

This is yet another Mray, making it all the harder to figure out which is which. It is a powerful setup sweeper that cannot be impostered when behind a sub. Further, because it has fire/flying coverage it can still by imposterproofed by the flash fire steels who block our previous sets.

Gastro acid + Will-o-wisp to cripple magic bounce sweepers or to negate poison heal / protean / -ate.
btw Gastro Acid is bounceable, so you may want to use something like Skill Swap instead to get cripple them (Entrainment wont work)

I actually didn't know that - I'll change it, thanks! :D
EDIT: Actually I'll keep gastro acid but go Sacred fire > Wisp which accomplishes the same thing

Unquestionably the best set for this team right now. We already have 2 huge threats, what we need is actual answers to our opponent's threats, not more threats.

edit: just to clarify i don't mean we need to put 4 walls but we need to take care of switch ins and imposterproofing before adding more offensive pokemon.

I think the winner here is pretty obvious: LaxLapras!

On to nominations for Stage 4. Here's our team now:

Registeel @ Safety Goggles

One small yeet for man, one giant yeet for mankind
Glad we liked my Regi set! We definitely needed some defense.
To keep that going, this team still has problems with strong special attackers. MMY, Tail glow Ray, or PH Ogre, among others, present huge threats. My solution is unaware Audino

Audino-Mega @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Topsy-Turvy / Mean Look / Heal Bell
- Heal Order
- Metal Burst
- Parting Shot / Heal Bell

This will handle all of the above written threats, and more. A surprise unaware metal burst is a great way to take down something like a +3 Ray. Topsy Turvy can stop a sweeper in its tracks, but mean look can be used to trap a special sweeper that has no way to kill audino, pp stalling it to death. Parting shot is a great pivot. Also, Audino functions as a general special wall. This also allows us to build a set up special attacker for the team, as Audino would be an imposter-counter for that mon. If we pick this Audino, something like Qdance MMY or MGengar would work well in tandem.

Metagross-Mega @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Simple
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Stored Power
- Earth Power
- Cotton Guard

pretty dangerous as a sweeper since it get get to absurd power/bulk so quickly and its really easy to imposterproof too

Ho-Oh @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Flare Blitz
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Whirlwind / U-Turn

At the moment, our offensive presence can be easily revenge killed by Mega Diancie which would suggest that we include a solid check to it. Ho-Oh can fulfill that role as long as Diancie doesn't run Rock-type STAB (which they rarely do).

Magic Guard with Toxic Orb allows Ho-Oh to bypass its nasty 4x Stealth Rock weakness while simultaneously being immune to any forms of status once the Toxic Orb activates.

Max SDef lets Ho-Oh check Mega Gengar along with some variants of Protean MMY. It can also serve as a very soft check to GW Mega Rayquaza taking ~60% from +3 Oblivion Wing (without LO) and then phazing it out with Whirlwind. Whirlwind will also allow Ho-Oh to phaze out Tinted Dialga. U-turn can be used instead to let Ho-Oh pivot out if we don't have to worry about GW MRay or Tinted Dialga.

Ho-Oh can also be a very flimsy check to -ate MMX should the need arise, taking ~40% from Espeed (without plate).

lucky n bad
Needs more Pikachu, but with a set that can at least try and beat things behind subs

Pikachu @ Light Ball
Ability: Imposter
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- King's Shield
- Fake Out
- Skill Swap
- Heal Pulse (this is filler because I can't think of another move that does nothing to our team after a skill swap)
