[Balanced Hackmons]Kyurem-Black [QC 3/3] [GP 2/2]

[OVERVIEW]

Thanks to its typing and high Attack stat, Kyurem-B is the hardest hitting physically offensive user of Refrigerate and also the second most powerful physical -ate ability user in the metagame. Its Ice STAB gives it a very effective offensive typing that alone allows it to hit most of the tier neutrally or better, and with its coverage moves, there's nothing that Kyurem-B can't touch. Its main sets allow it to revenge kill even faster foes. This offensive pressure can keep the foe from trying to set up and sweep with a frail sweeper, lest it be picked off. Foes also have to be wary of sending in Imposters or Shedinja because although they can shut down most sets, Kyurem-B is capable of running a set to beat both of them.

Kyurem-B faces stiff competition from Mega Diancie and Mega Rayquaza for the role of -ate ability user, as both are faster and can run mixed sets much more effectively. Kyurem-B also has a poor defensive typing that not only leaves it with very few relevant resistances, but also leaves it weak to Pixilate. However, Kyurem-B has greater bulk than either of them, allowing it to beat threats that they cannot handle.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

The first two moves on this set are mandatory, as they are what make Kyurem-B so dangerous. Fake Out helps Kyurem-B rack up free damage against many targets so that they can be finished off with an Extreme Speed. Most frail Pokemon are 2HKOed by the combination.

In the third slot, Bolt Strike gives Kyurem-B amazing coverage that is only resisted by Pokemon with abilities granting an Electric immunity. It also allows it to quickly dispatch Kyogre and Mega Gyarados, which Kyurem-B has trouble with otherwise, while allowing it to hit Steel-types neutrally. If Steel-types are more of a concern, Thousand Arrows is an option to deal with them better. It can also be run in the last move slot alongside Bolt Strike to allow Kyurem-B to bypass many would-be checks. Earth Power can be run for similar reasons to bypass certain Pokemon with lopsided defenses that have the physical bulk to otherwise wall Kyruem-B with even Thousand Arrows, such as Mega Aggron.

In the last slot, King's Shield helps keep Kyurem-B from being revenge killed by opposing -ate ability users, most notably Mega Diancie, and Imposters, while also threatening and potentially shutting them down thanks to the -2 Attack drop it induces on contact. Swords Dance can be used on predicted switches to help Kyurem-B sweep the opponent's team, though running this move makes stopping an Imposter more difficult. As Kyurem-B often forces switches, U-turn can be used to scout the foe and maintain offensive pressure.

Set Details
========

The listed EVs maximize Kyurem-B's power and bulk while also allowing it to switch into Stealth Rock five times. Icicle Plate maximizes the power of Kyurem-B's STAB moves without any recoil while Rocky Helmet can punish opposing physically offensive -ate ability users, Imposters, and Shedinja that attempt to attack Kyurem-B, especially when paired with King's Shield.

Usage Tips
========

Because Extreme Speed has very limited PP and is Kyurem-B's main attack, it is necessary to scout before committing fully to a sweep. As such, early- and mid-game, Kyurem-B should be used to force switches, prevent set-up, revenge kill, and occasionally use Extreme Speed on a Pokemon that would be seriously hurt and will likely switch out to keep your opponent from predicting your own switch. While Kyurem-B is a threatening sweeper, it needs to be able to set up. However, once its checks and counters are out of play, Kyurem-B can clean up game very efficiently.

Be wary of King's Shield, as it is a very common defensive move that can easily force Kyurem-B to switch due to the attack drop. Rocky Helmet holders are also fairly common and can quickly inflict a lot of residual damage.

Team Options
========

As Kyurem-B forces a lot of switches, it appreciates entry hazard support to build up damage against checks and counters and to guarantee some KOes with Fake Out and Extreme Speed. As it is also weak to entry hazards itself, Kyurem-B appreciates Rapid Spin or Defog support to keep its side of the field clear. Kyurem-B also appreciates Wish and cleric support to keep it healthy, as it may need to switch into status moves or weak attacks to pressure the foe.

Offensively, teammates that can eliminate Kyurem-B's checks and counters are useful. While Rocky Helmet KOes Shedinja, Kyurem-B does not appreciate being hit with Endeavor from Sturdy Shedinja. As such, Mold Breaker + Pursuit users, such as Mega Gengar, are good teammates, as they can easily eliminate Shedinja. Illusion users can disguise themselves as Kyurem-B to lure in and trap or destroy its checks and counters. Mega Gengar does this particularly well when Mega-Evolved so that it can trap the foe with Shadow Tag.

Aegislash-Shield makes for a good defensive partner, as it resists or is immune to all of Kyurem-B's weaknesses, is slow enough to bring it in safely with a U-Turn or Parting Shot, and can easily check Pokemon that have transformed into Kyurem-B with Imposter should Kyurem-B lack Precipice Blades. Poison Heal Kyogre is another good partner if Kyurem-B does not run Bolt Strike, as it can set up on Imposters of Kyurem-B and also take down most of Kyurem-B's checks.

[SET]
name: Anti-Imposter
move 1: Frustration
move 2: Bolt Strike
move 3: Infestation / Spore / Leech Seed
move 4: Shift Gear / Fake Out / U-turn
item: Rocky Helmet / Safety Goggles / Choice Band
ability: Refrigerate
nature: Adamant
evs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Most Imposters run the default maximum happiness, so Frustration is the best choice for the first slot, as it not only hits hard after a Refrigerate boost, but also causes Imposters to inflict very little damage back. Bolt Strike is Kyurem-B's best coverage move, as not only does Kyurem-B resist it, but it beats Kyogre and Mega Gyarados, which would wall the set otherwise, and it hits most Steel-types neutrally.

Infestation not only allows Kyurem-B to KO Shedinja, which otherwise walls this set, on the switch, but also to trap opposing Imposters, allowing Kyurem-B to knock them out. Spore is another option if using Safety Goggles, as it allows Kyurem-B to put the Imposter to sleep, making it easier for Kyurem-B to remove it. Leech Seed doesn't cripple Imposters as much but allows for Kyurem-B to take HP from them and KOes Shedinja.

Shift Gear not only allows for an easier sweep, but it can also lure Imposters in. Fake Out allows Kyurem-B to not only bluff a standard Refrigerate set, but also inflict free damage on foes and sometimes revenge KO on weakened Pokemon. U-turn helps to scout the foe's moves. It is particularly good on a Choice Band set.

Set Details
========

As the set's primary goal is to eliminate opposing Imposters, EVs are invested into HP to maximize Kyurem-B's bulk without increasing the Imposter's own survivability. The remainder is put to Attack for more power. However, if greater sweeping capability is desired, a spread of 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe can be used.

Rocky Helmet is the preferred item, as all of Kyurem-B's attacks are contact moves, which whittles down the opposing Imposter as it tries to hit back. Safety Goggles are primarily used on a set running Spore, but the immunity to opposing Spore users is always handy. Choice Band gives Kyurem-B great wallbreaking capabilities while also inflicting more damage on Imposters than they can do back.

Usage Tips
========

This set can be used to bluff Extreme Speed sets, especially if Fake Out is run, so use this to force switches by threatening a KO with Extreme Speed.

While Rocky Helmet can KO Shedinja after Endeavor, Kyurem-B cannot counter an Imposter at 1 HP, so avoid taking an Endeavor just to get rid of Shedinja. Additionally, if using Shift Gear to lure an Imposter in, do not boost too much while the Imposter is still alive, as, after several boosts, even resisted coverage moves can inflict large amounts of damage if Kyurem-B loses a Speed tie.

Team Options
========

Thanks to an Imposter's Frustration often being very weak, Pokemon that would otherwise have poor synergy with Kyurem-B can be good teammates, such as Giratina and Lugia. Sweepers weak to Imposters appreciate this Kyurem-B's ability to shut Imposters down and also to deal with certain walls such as Giratina.

As it is weak to all entry hazards, Kyurem-B is greatly helped by Rapid Spin and Defog support. The given coverage moves mean that Kyurem-B has trouble breaking certain walls, such as physically defensive Registeel and Aegislash-Shield, so partners that can break them down are appreciated. This set is also checked by opposing -ate ability users, so Pokemon such as Aegislash-Shield help greatly to stop them. As this set is merely resistant to Imposters, rather than immune, it appreciates Wish support to help it do its job over the course of the match, especially against teams with two Pokemon with Imposter. If not running Infestation, a teammate that can eliminate Sturdy Shedinja, such as one with Mold Breaker + Pursuit, is necessary.

[SET]
name: Not Refrigerate (Skill Link)
move 1: Icicle Spear
move 2: Bone Rush
move 3: Water Shuriken / Bullet Seed / U-turn
move 4: Shift Gear / Swords Dance / King's Shield
item: Life Orb / Lum Berry / King's Rock
ability: Skill Link
nature: Adamant
evs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Def

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

With Skill Link, Icicle Spear has an effective Base Power of 125 and can bypass Substitute. The move also does not make contact, allowing Kyurem-B to handle Pokemon that are reliant on King's Shield or Rocky Helmet to check standard Refrigerate Kyurem-B. Bone Rush provides perfect coverage barring Levitate users and also benefits from Skill Link.

Water Shuriken gives Kyurem-B reasonably hard-hitting priority and pick off certain fast and frail sweepers, such as Mega Aerodactyl, or other weakened Pokemon without the need to set up. However, if eliminating Pokemon such as Kyogre is more important, Bullet Seed is an option. U-turn is also an option to scout the foe and potentially bluff Refrigerate.

Shift Gear is the preferred set up move to allow Kyurem-B to outspeed faster Pokemon. However, Swords Dance can be used instead to hit harder and also bluff Refrigerate. King's Shield lets Kyurem-B deal with Fake Out and Extreme Speed more easily. The move can also be run in the third slot if set up is needed more than additional coverage.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread allows Adamant Kyurem-B to outspeed Timid Mega Mewtwo-Y after a single Shift Gear. This spread also still keeps an odd HP to minimize Life Orb and Stealth Rock damage. An alternative spread of 144 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe can be used to outspeed positive nature Deoxys-S after one boost. Another spread of 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used to maximize Kyurem-B's sweeping potential.

Life Orb significantly boosts Kyurem-B's power, allowing it to break past many Pokemon without needing to set up. Lum Berry gives some protection from otherwise crippling status. Finally, King's Rock gives just under a 50% chance to make the foe flinch after every multi-hit attack.

Usage Tips
========

While this set is not as immediately powerful as the Refrigerate set, it can lure in and deal with several checks, such as Substitute + Protect PP stall, King's Shield users, and certain strong walls, that the Refrigerate set and other physically offensive -ate ability users can have trouble with. As such, this set gets most of its mileage by bluffing a traditional Refrigerate set and not revealing its multi-hit moves until the time is right. Be wary of opposing Imposters, as they can invalidate the element of surprise.

Team Options
========

As this set's main draw is to lure in checks to -ate ability users, this set pairs excellently with any common -ate user, especially a second Kyurem-B running the first set. These -ate ability users also have the benefit of checking Imposters of this set very well. However, although Skill Link Kyurem-B has excellent coverage, something that can wall boosted neutral hits, such as Mega Slowbro, Unaware Cresselia, or Sturdy Shedinja, is mandatory to stop an opposing counter sweep if your -ate ability user cannot switch in safely against an Imposter.

During the bluffing phase of the game, Kyurem-B is liable to force several switches, so it appreciates entry hazard support to rack up damage. It is also weak to all entry hazards, so Rapid Spin and Defog support are always appreciated. This set is weak to Shedinja, so a reliable counter to it, such as a Pokemon with Mold Breaker + Pursuit, is mandatory.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
========

Refrigerate sets have a number of usable Normal-type moves with a variety of uses. Facade paired with a Toxic Orb creates a high risk, high reward, somewhat Imposter-resistant set. This results in less longevity, so recovery or escape moves are necessary. Rapid Spin, when used with Refrigerate, makes for unblockable entry hazard removal. But because Kyurem-B is weak to entry hazards, this isn't an ideal choice. Explosion can also be run, as the power is enough to OHKO some would-be checks and counters while crippling the few Pokemon that survive, including potential Imposter switch-ins. However, the power makes checking Imposter Pokemon very difficult if they get in safely and decide to sacrifice themselves. Feint is an option for bypassing King's Shield and Spiky Shield as well as potentially outspeeding and picking off other Extreme Speed users. However, the power is low and even lower against Protean users, which frequetly run King's Shield to block Fake Out and Extreme Speed, so it serves little use beyond this. Boomburst can also be used to hit certain physical walls, such as Fur Coat users, much harder than any of Kyurem-B's physical moves.

On sets using Bolt Strike, Fusion Bolt is an option with more accuracy but less power, which can make it miss out on important KOs. Conversely, sets with Thousand Arrows may opt for Earthquake or Precipice Blades for more power at the risk of Steel-types with Levitate and certain Flying-type Pokemon, such as Ho-Oh, being potential nuisances. Taunt completely shuts down passive counters to Refrigerate sets, such as Fur Coat Chansey. Knock Off can also be used to take advantage of switches, most notably removing Chansey's Eviolite and Toxic Orbs from Pokemon with Poison Heal before the Orbs activate.

Low Kick can also be run on any set to hit most Steel-types with Levitate hard, but Ground- and Electric-type moves provide better coverage in general. If they can spare a moveslot, all sets appreciate recovery moves such as Heal Order, which gives Kyurem-B better longevity. Infestation and Leech Seed are options on all sets to help deal with Shedinja and Imposter, and Leech Seed can also be used on predicted King's Shield turns to wear down walls and help keep Kyurem-B healthy.

Finally, Kyurem-B has the typing and access to the right STAB moves to run a Technician set, utilizing moves such as Dual Chop, Dragon Tail, and Bonemerang in addition to those listed in its Skill Link set. While the power is potentially higher, the performance is less consistent with moves such as Icicle Spear.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Entry Hazards**: Most Kyurem-B sets lack recovery, so, with its weakness to Stealth Rock, it is very vulnerable to residual damage from hazards, making hazard removal support almost mandatory.

**Opposing -ate Ability Users**: Refrigerate, Aerilate, and especially Pixilate users can KO Kyurem-B or force it out if it's not running King's Shield. However, all common users such as Mega Rayquaza and Mega Diancie struggle to switch into Kyurem-B's attacks. Refrigerate Kyremu-B can also check them in return if it gets a safe switch into them.

**Physically Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon invested in physical bulk, such as Mega Slowbro, Mega Aggron, Mega Scizor, Regenerator + Assault Vest Regirock and Registeel, and Fur Coat users, can cause problems for Kyurem-B lacking set up moves. Additionally, Steel-type checks may be able to hit back with their STAB attacks. Unaware users, such as some Cresselia, can shut down Kyurem-B even with a boosting move. Boomburst can bypass many of these if they lack Soundproof, however.

**Status**: Burns cripple Kyurem-B, and it is not very fond of sleep either. The Anti-Imposter and Skill Link sets also do not appreciate paralysis.

**Mega Mewtwo X**: While it cannot switch in on Kyurem-B's attacks, many of Mega Mewtwo-X's sets can easily OHKO Kyurem-B with a Fighting-type move.

**Protean Users**: If they are using King's Shield, they can give most Kyurem-B trouble and potentially KO Kyurem-B if it stays in.

MAMP!
The overview is mostly pretty good, probably should mention that it faces pretty stiff competition from M-Ray and M-Diancie as -ate's. Also, you mention that it can be Imposter-resistant, yet neither of the sets listed are anti-Imposter; either remove this mention or include an imposter-resistant set. Perhaps mention here the potency of Ice as an attacking type in BH, as that is the main reason to use Kyu-B over other options.

First set:
Don't have both Adamant and Naughty listed, just put Adamant and mention Naughty in the move section when you talk about Boomburst. 4 items is too many, you'll need to cut one of them. I'd recommend moving either Life Orb or Ice Plate to OO.

Give more description in regards to Fake Out's purpose on the set rather than just describing what it does; mention that the damage is necassary to revenge kill Pokemon like Mewtwo Y, and that it breaks Focus Sash. Tbh I feel like Feint is too niche to warrant a slash on the main set, personally I would move it to OO but if you want to keep it there it should be fine. Pixilate Xerneas isn't really worth a mention, that set is pretty much unviable and non-existant in the current metagame. Mention that running Swords Dance makes Kyu-B more difficult to anti-imposter. Knock Off and Fusion Bolt should not be mentioned in the moves section if they arent slashed on the set, move them to OO. Set Details, Usage Tips, and Team Options are good for the most part, but cut the mention of Flame Body, Iron Barbs, and Rough Skin; these abilities are really bad and will never be seen on any serious BH team. As well, mention Mold Breaker + Pursuit in Team Options to deal with Shedinja; this also synergises well with U-turn.

Second set:
I feel like having both Skill Link and Technician on the same set makes the set a bit messy; I think it would be better to keep Skill Link as the sole ability on that set and move Technician to OO, with mention of moves like Bonemerang, Ice Shard, and Dual Chop. Fake Out should be moved to OO as it is not slashed on the set. Once again, Set Details, Usage Tips, and Team Options are good, but make a mention of its items in Set Details. Again, Mold Breaker + Pursuit would be a good one to mention in Team Options.

Other Options:
Clarify that Toxic Orb + Facade is for the refrigerate set, its somewhat unclear with the way its currently worded. Make a mention of the fact that Explosion makes Kyu-B extremely difficult to anti-imposter. Wrap is probably not worth talking about; even with the boost from refrigerate its still extremely weak, and its imperfect accuracy makes it outclassed by Infestation most of the time. No need to mention Heal Order as well as Recover, they are exactly the same move.

Checks and Counters:
All good, but I'm not sure why you're saying PH Giratina is a counter to Kyu-B:
252+ Atk Icicle Plate Refrigerate Kyurem-B Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Giratina: 350-414 (69.4 - 82.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Poison Heal
Im on the fence in regards to Primal Groudon; I say leave it for now and see what the other qc members have to say about it.

QC 1/3

Okay, all done. Listed an anti-Imposter set after digging through some teams to find mine (it's been a while since I've ran that set myself) and moved Technician to OO. Left Primaldon for now, we'll see what others have to say. Thanks for the checks and feedback!

Tagging E4 Flint Piccolo Daimao and Uselesscrab for QC2.

Firstly, sorry for taking so long to get this done. I'm really behind on my checks

lol i'm reading through this and keep seeing refigerate, might want to control-f all of those out

Nice work so far! Let's see..

Overview:
no comments here, good work
Refrigerate set:
Does Boomburst do anything relevant? I'm not sure it's worth mentioning on this set. I'd recommend moving it to OO. I think you should just cut down on some slashes in general at the end of this set.
IMO put Icicle Plate over Life Orb, Life Orb just reduces its longetivity without much of a damage boost for its Ice attacks (which are its main things)
Also if I were you I'd remove Lum Berry, as Sleep and Burns that can outprioritize Fake Out/Extreme Speed aren't relevant.
Team options:
Suggest a Pokemon that can counter Primal Kyogre, Slowbro Mega, and bulky Steels
I think you can combine the 2nd and last bullet points because they cover similar content
Anti-Imposterate set:
I think you need to cut down on a bunch of these slashes. I don't see enough reason to run Return instead of Frustration, remove that. Also, remove Wood Hammer because, while it does let it hit a couple relevant things, the fact that it literally can't get through any bulky Steel is a huge issue. I'm not really sure what you should remove from the last two, but I think that at least one of them should be trimmed down by one slot, preferably both.
Team Options:
Change "undead bug" to Shedinja
Not Refrigerate set:
I'm not sure this set is worth mentioning outside of OO. Is it really viable? I think you should wait to see what the final QCer has to say about it, but I'm not convinced at the moment.
There's nothing that I'd change on it if it stays, looks pretty good to me.
Strategy Comments:
Other Options:
I'd remove the Fake Out/Skill Link thing, I can't see it being useful. Fake Out against, say, a Ghost or Fire type would call the bluff quite easily, and I think it's better off without it
Checks and Counters:
I'd say to keep Primal Don as a check. You might want to rephrase that whole line though, seems like you're jamming too much information into it or something.

Nice job!

Piccolo Daimao All done, though keeping Skill Link as a regular option for the moment. It's an older set that originated from Gen V, but it's Kyu-B's best non-Fridge set AFAIK and works great as a lure/bluff for -ate partners like I described. But if Useless (or Flint if he beats him to it) also feels it should be moved, then I will. Thanks for the check.

Uselesscrab E4 Flint Ready for last QC. I am totally not timing this to distract you from suspect laddering so I can do so safely. Nope, not at all.

Was kinda busy cause of OMPL, sorry bud.

Set refrigerate:

  • I personally feel that Thousand Arrows is the superior choice to Precipice Blades because of the accuracy and the ability to hit levitate mons (though niche); Blades should be in the OO if you want to go for power at the cost of the drawbacks.
  • Another option could be Earth Power because whatever is coming in on Kyub will likely be a physically inclined defensive Pokemon. Magma Storm can provide similar coverage as well as trapping and passive damage for Shed, so it can be also considered
  • I don't know how to shoehorn it in, but Aegislash is also a good partner because Kyub can run Low Kick to virtually no downsides

Set Anti Imposter:

  • If you added Uturn as a third choice in the regular version, I don't see why it can't be in this one with Band
  • This goes across all sets, but Leech Seed can be a decent option as it allows Kyub to heal especially off of Imposter, beat Shed, gets around King's Shield, and also sets it up to switch out against a possible switch in
  • A choice set can always make do with Trick, if you wish to add it
Set Not Refirgerate:

  • Missing a word in the second sentence after the set details, "... perfect coverage against relevant"
  • King's Shield is always a choice since it can stop repeated Fake Out switch ins while having no effect on any of its own moves against Imposter

Other Options:
Make a note about how Explosion also makes Chansey switch ins think twice
  • A minor note about how Feint doesn't really help against Protean King's Shield anyway because of the resist
  • You say in the beginning how KyuB can beat Chansey and Shedinja by changing a couple of moves but do not actually reiterate this information in the OO piece. I would include notes about Infestation andLeech Seed, the latter of which can help against both and gets around King's Shield
  • It's an -ate set, the sheer power of Boomburst necessitates a note about it, as it helps deal with Fur Coat and other defensively strong Pokemon but with a neutral hit, and force mind games with King's Shield. It's especially strange because you included a note about this in "Checks and Counters" against Cresselia
Team Options:
  • Probably goes without saying, but it is good to have something on the team which can not only cover your own Kyub set, but be useful against all other similar KyuB sets so that is what should be kept in mind. You have not really covered Imposter switch ins in its own section, but instead have mentioned them throughout the text, so it is upto you whether you wish to include them
  • Depending on the coverage, PH Ogre is a great partner because it can frequently come in on Kyub's refrigerate attacks and set up, while also taking down most of what will come in to counter KyuB. The cost of this of course, is that your main KyuB set will not be able to take down opponent PH Ogre's

Checks and Counters
  • I don't know where to put this, but the famous RegenRegi's, Rock and Steel, are both decent counters for nearly all variants of Kyub while being useful against other threats as well
  • Maybe bring up Protean with King's Shield as a check, even though in practice it's really closer to a counter
Everything else looks solid, I think you incorporated the others' suggestions already, and sorry if there are some conflicts with what I said and what they mentioned.

See you on the ladder bud

QC3/3

E4 Flint Originally had Boomburst in the first set, but I removed it per Mamp's suggestion. Moving it to OO like you suggested would have been a better option though. But, all done, and thanks for checking it!

Now for the GP checks...

[OVERVIEW]

Thanks to its typing and high Attack stat, Kyurem-B is the hardest-hitting (AC) physically offensive user of Refrigerate and also the second most powerful physically offensive -ate ability user in the metagame. Its Ice- STAB (RH) gives it a very effective offensive typing that alone allows it to hit most of the relevant tier neutrally or better, (AC) alone and, (RC) with the addition of one or two its coverage moves, (RC) there's nothing it Kyurem-B can't touch. Additionally, i Its main sets allow it to revenge KO even speed-boosted faster opponents. Thanks to this offensive pressure, its mere presence This offensive pressure can keep the opponent from getting comfortable enough to try trying to set- up (RH) and sweep with a frail sweeper, (AC) lest it get be picked off. Foes also have to be wary of blindly sending in Imposters or Shedinja because, while they can shut down most sets, Kyurem-B is fully capable of running a set that trashes to beat both of them.

Since you can only field one -ate ability on your team, Kyurem-B faces stiff competition from Diancie-Mega Mega Diancie and Rayquaza-Mega Mega Rayquaza for the role of -ate ability user, (AC) as they are both are faster and can run mixed sets much more effectively. Additionally, Kyurem-Black also finds itself with has a poor defensive typing that not only leaves it with very few relevant resistances, a trait shared with its competitors, but also leaves it weak to Pixelate Pixilate, something Rayquaza also suffers from (I am not sure what the emphasis here is - it seems like this paragraph should be about why Kyurem-B suffers compared to Diancie and Rayquaza, which it initially is, but here you say that Kyurem-B suffers from similar flaws to them. You could perhaps say 'Kyurem-B also has a poor defensive typing that not only leaves it with very few relevant resistances, but also leaves it weak to Pixilate; while Mega Diancie and Mega Rayquaza also suffer from this to an extent, Kyurem-B suffers the most'. If this is not the correct sense, and Kyurem-B does not suffer the most, then it might be best to remove mentions of Diancie and Rayquaza from this sentence). Fortunately However, Kyurem-B has greater bulk than either of them, allowing it to sustain more punishment and stay alive against treats beat threats the other two cannot handle.

EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

The first two moves on this set are mandatory, as they are what makes Kyurem-B so dangerous. Fake Out, a move boosted by Refrigerate, (RCs) helps Kyurem-B rack up basically free damage against many targets and set them up for being so that they can be finished off cleanly and safely with an follow-up Extreme Speed. Most frail Pokemon are outright 2HKOed from by the combination, which makes staying in on Kyurem-B a death sentence for them.

In the third slot, Bolt Strike gives Kyurem-B amazing coverage that can is only be fully resisted in the relevant meta by Electric-immune Pokemon with abilities granting Electric immunity, such as Lightning Rod, which are rare. It also allows it to quickly dispatch Primal Kyogre Kyogre-Primal and Gyarados-Mega Mega Gyarados, Pokemon which Kyurem-B might have has trouble with otherwise, while still also allowing it to hit its other nemesis, Steel-types, (RCs) neutrally. If said Steel-types are of more more of a concern, Thousand Arrows is an option to deal with them even better. (AP) and It can even also be ran run in the last move slot with alongside Bolt Strike to allow Kyurem-B to bypass many would-be checks. Earth Power can be run for similar reasons to bypass certain Pokemon with lopsided defenses, such as Mega- Aggron (RH), who have the physical bulk to otherwise potentially wall Kyurem-B even with Thousand Arrows.

In the last slot, King's Shield is an excellent option to not only helps keep Kyurem-B from being revenge KOed by opposing -ate ability users, most notably Mega Diancie Diancie-Mega, and Imposters, but potentially while also threatening and potentially shutting them down itself thanks to its the -2 attack Attack drop it induces on contact. Swords Dance can be used on predicted switches to allow help Kyurem-B to more easily sweep the opponents team, though running this move makes stopping an Imposter more difficult. And finally, since As Kyurem-B often forces switches, U-Turn can be used to scout the opponent 's reaction and maintain offensive pressure. momentum, and pressure on whatever they bring in.
========

Set Details

Since Kyurem-B mostly spams priority attacks and most of its checks are slower, defensive Pokemon, t The listed EVs maximize its Kyurem-B's power and bulk while also reaching a Stealth Rock number (248 HP does not actually give it a Stealth Rock number - you need 240 HP for that. An odd number is not the same thing, and does not help Kyurem-B in this case. With both 248 and 252 HP it will be taking 113 damage on switch-in, compared to 112 with 240 HP) giving it an odd number of HP for residual damage such as Stealth Rock. If speed creeping opponents such as Primal Kyogre to KO it with coverage is desirable, EVs can be moved from HP to Speed and/or the nature can be changed to Jolly. (You don't have to get rid of this sentence, but give a clear alternative spread. e.g. 'An alternative spread of 140 HP / 252 Atk / 116 Spe with a Jolly nature is an option to outspeed maximum Speed Primal Kyogre with a neautral nature (I have no idea what they run in BH - this was just plucked from the teambuilder). Also, the policy is 'no Speed creep in analyses', so phrase it as 'to outspeed x' and make sure you only outspeed by one point, or the most efficient margin you can) Icicle Plate maximizes the power of its Kyurem-B's STAB moves without any recoil drawbacks while the Rocky Helmet can punish opposing physically offensive -ate ability users, Imposters, and Shedinjas who that attempt to attack Kyurem-B, especially when paired with King's Shield.

========

Usage Tips

Since Because Extreme Speed has very limited PP and is Kyurem-B's primary main attack, it's it is necessary to scout before committing fully to a sweep sweeping. As such, during the early- (AH) and mid-game, Kyurem-B should be used to force switches, preventing set-up, revenge KO killing (For consistency), and occasionally using use Extreme Speed to discourage your opponent from leaving things in after Fake Out (What exactly does this mean? Just that it should inflict damage where it is the optimal move? Probably best that you explain this one so I can judge what to do with it). While Kyurem-B is a threatening sweeper more than capable of sweeping, it needs to be able to set up or for its checks and counters to be weakened before it can sweep. it needs to set-up or allow it's teammate to soften up the opponent to do so reliably. However, once its checks and counters are out of play, Kyurem-B can clean up the game very efficiently.

In the mean time, b Be wary of King's Shield, as it is a very common defensive move that can easily force Kyurem-B to switch thanks due to the attack drop. Rocky Helmet holders are also fairly common and can quickly rack up inflict a lot of residual damage should you use Kyurem-B recklessly.

========

Team Options

As Kyurem-B (AH) very easily forces a lot of switches, it appreciates hazard support to build up damage against checks and counters as they switch in on it or and to guarantee some 2HKOes with Fake Out + Extreme Speed on some bulkier foes it'd otherwise miss. Additionally, since As it is also weak to all hazards itself, Kyurem-B very much appreciates Rapid Spin or Defog support to keep its side of the field clear the field clear for it. It Kyurem-B also appreciates Wish and Cleric support to keep it healthy, as Kyurem-B it may need to switch into on status moves or weak attacks to continue pressuring pressure the opponent.

Offensively, depending on the coverage taken, teammates that can eliminate common Kyurem-B's checks and counters are useful, such as Kyogre-Primal Slowbro-Mega, and bulky Steel types such as Registeel may be necessary. While the Rocky Helmet on Kyurem-B kills Shedinja can kill it, Kyurem-B does not appreciate being hit with Endeavor from would prefer not to lose almost all of its HP to Sturdy Shedinja's Endeavor. As such, a Mold Breaker + Pursuit users, such as Mega Gengar Gengar-Mega, which Kyurem-B can bring in with U-Turn, are good teammates, as they can easily eliminate Shedinja it. Illusion users can also disguise themselves as Kyurem-B to lure in and trap or destroy its checks and counters for Kyurem-B. , (AP, RC) such as Gengar who can mega-evolve to trap with Shadow Tag. Mega Gengar does this particularly well, as it can trap the foe with Shadow Tag.

Aegislash-Shield makes for a good defensive partner as it resists or is immune to all of Kyurem-B's weaknesses, is slow enough to bring it in safely with a U-Turn or Parting Shot, and, if Kyurem-B lacks Precipice Blades, can easily check Pokemon that have transformed into Kyurem-B with Imposter opposing Imposters. Poison Heal Primal Kyogre is another good partner if Kyurem-B does not run Bolt Strike, as it can set- up (RH) on Imposters of Kyurem-B and also takes down most of Kyurem-B's checks, though this will mean Kyu-B will be walled by opposing Primal Kyogres.

[SET]
name: Anti-Imposterate (If you are using a 'fun' name for a set you need to have a serious name in brackets, and as the serious name for this set would be 'Anti-Imposter' I am not sure if having two is worth it. Your call though)
move 1: Frustration
move 2: Bolt Strike / Crab Hammer
move 3: Infestation / Spore / Leech Seed
move 4: Shift Gear / Fake Out / U-Turn
item: Rocky Helmet / Safety Goggles / Choice Band
ability: Refrigerate
nature: Adamant
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Most Imposters run the default maximum happiness, thus so Frustration is the best choice for the first slot, as, (AC, RC) not only does it strike it not only hits hard after a Refrigerate boost, but also causes Imposters to inflict very little damage back. Bolt Strike is Kyurem-B's best coverage move, (AC) as since not only does Kyurem-B it resist it, but it also strikes down beats Kyogre-Primals Primal Kyogre and Gyarados-Megas Mega Gyarados (The plural forms of Pokemon are the same as the singular forms) who would wall the set otherwise, (AC) and it still hits most Steel-types neutrally. Crab Hammer is another option Kyurem-B resists if Groudon-Primal Primal Groudon is a concern; (ASC) and it can also be ran run in the third or fourth slot if using a Choice-locked set.

Infestation not only allows it Kyurem-B to reliably kill Shedinja on the switch, a Pokemon who that would otherwise wall this set, but also to trap opposing Imposters, allowing Kyurem-B to knock them out deal with them at its leisure. However, Spore is another option if using Safety Goggles as it allows Kyurem-B to put the Imposter to sleep, making it safer easier for Kyurem-B to remove it. Leech Seed doesn't cripple Imposters as much, but allows for Kyurem-B to take heal for quite a bit of HP off of from them and also has the benefit of killing Shedinja.

Shift Gear is not only a set-up move that allows for an easier sweep, but it can also lure Imposters in more easily. Fake Out allows Kyurem-B to not only bluff a standard a more traditional Refrigerate set, but also inflict free chip damage on opponents and sometimes score a revenge KO on weakened Pokemon sweepers. And finally, U-Turn helps to scouts the opponent's moves. It is particularly good on a Choice Band set. (AP) and is a great option for the last slot with a Choice Band

========

Set Details

As the set's primary goal is to eliminate opposing Imposters, EVs are invested into HP to maximize Kyurem-B's bulk without increasing the Imposter's own survivability. The remainder is dumped put into Attack for more power. However, if more greater sweeping capability is desired, a spread of 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe can be used.

Rocky Helmet is the preferred item as all of Kyurem-B's attacks are contact moves, which whittles down the opposing Imposter that much faster and more safely as it tries to hit back. Safety Goggles are primarily used in conjunction with for when you run Spore, but the immunity to other damage sources is always handy. And finally, the Choice Band gives Kyurem-B great wall-breaking (RH) capabilities while also inflicting more damage on Imposters than they can do back could ever hope to strike back with.

========

Usage Tips

This set can easily be used to bluff the more common Extreme Speed sets, especially if running Fake Out is run, so use this fact to force switches by threatening a KO with Extreme Speed. feel free to switch Kyurem-B into battle where it can threaten a priority kill when it is safe to do so.

While the Rocky Helmet can KO Shedinja after a stray Endeavor, Kyurem-B cannot counter an Imposter at 1 HP, so avoid taking an Endeavor just to get rid of Shedinja. Additionally, if using Shift Gear to lure an Imposter in, do not boost too much while said the Imposter is still alive, (AC) as, after several boosts, even resisted coverage moves can inflict large amounts of unnecessary damage if Kyurem-B loses a Speed tie from a speed tie loss.

========

Team Options

Thanks to an Imposter's Frustration often being very weak, Pokemon that would otherwise have poor synergy with Kyurem-B can be good teammates, such as Giratina and Lugia teammates who can wall Imposters can expand into unexpected choices, such as Giratina and Lugia, who might otherwise synergize poorly with Imposter-weak Kyu-Bs. Additionally dangerous, Imposter-weak sweepers appreciate this Kyurem-B's ability to shut Imposters down not only shut them down, but also and also to deal with certain walls, (RC) such as opposing Giratina.

As it is weak to all hazards, Kyurem-B is greatly helped by Rapid Spin and Defog support. Additionally, the taken coverage may cause it to need help The given coverage moves mean that Kyurem-B has trouble breaking certain walls, such as physically invested Registeel and Aegislash-Shield, (AC) so partners that can break them down are appreciated (I assume this is the sense of this sentence. If not, let me know). This set is also checked by opposing -ate ability users far more easily, so something Pokemon such as your own Aegislash-Shield help greatly to stop them to stop them helps greatly. Since the this set is merely Imposter- resistant (RH), rather than immune, it appreciates Wish support to help it do its job over the course of the match, especially against teams with two Pokemon with double Imposter. And finally, i If not running Infestation, a Pokemon teammate that can , (RC) such as one with Mold Breaker + Pursuit, is necessary to eliminate Sturdy Shedinja, such as one with Mold Breaker + Pursuit, is necessary.

move 4: Shift Gear / Swords Dance / King's Shield
item: Life Orb / Lum Berry / King's Rock
ability: Skill Link
nature: Adamant
EVs: 232 HP / 252 Atk / 24 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

Under With Skill Link, Icicle Spear has an effective base power of 125 and can easily bypass substitutes. The move also does not make contact, allowing this Kyurem-B to handle Pokemon that who are reliant on King's Shield or Rocky Helmet to check standard Refrigerate Kyurem-Bs. Bone Rush provides perfect coverage against the relevant tier barring Levitate users so long as they're not using Levitate, a very rare ability, and also benefits from Skill Link, making it the ideal move for the second slot.

Water Shuriken gives Kyurem-B reasonably hard-hitting (AH) priority and, with the given EVs and nature, has enough power behind it to surprise and OHKO Primal Groudon unless it has maximum HP investment all but max HP Groudon-Primals without any items or boosts. It can also be used to pick off certain fast and frail sweepers, such as Mega Aerodactyl Aerodactyl-Mega, or other weakened Pokemon without the need to set-up. However, if eliminating Pokemon such as Primal Kyogre Kyogre-Primal is more necessary important, Bullet Seed is an Skill Link boosted option. U-Turn is also a great an option to scout the opponent and potentially help bluff Refrigerate.

Shift Gear is the preferred set-up move to allow Kyurem-B to outspeed faster Pokemon. However, Swords Dance can be used instead to not only hit harder faster, but and also bluff Refrigerate. And finally, King's Shield lets is Kyurem-B deal with repeated Fake Outs and Extreme Speeds far more easily without hurting the set's own effectiveness against an Imposter. The move can also be run ran in the third slot if set-up is needed more than additional coverage.

========

Set Details

The given EV spread allows Adamant Kyurem-B to outspeed Jolly Choice Scarfed Groudon-Primal Primal Groudon at +1 after a single Shift Gear, preventing revenge KOs especially when not running Water Shuriken. This spread also still keeps an odd HP to minimize odd for the Life Orb and Stealth Rock damage (I really think you need to get some more QC about Life Orb and Stealth Rock numbers. By my reckoning 232 HP reaches the nearest LO number, and 228 is the nearest Stealth Rock number below that). However, is outspeed positive-natured Deoxys-Speed is desired after a single boost, An alternative spread of 144 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe can be used to outspeed positive nature Deoxys-Speed after one boost instead. If using Swords Dance or outspeeding as many boosted threats as possible is required, Jolly with Another spread of 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used to maximize Kyurem-B's sweeping potential.

The Life Orb significantly boosts Kyurem-Black's power, allowing it to break many Pokemon without needing to set up get by with spending less time on set-up to break bulky Pokemon which, in turn, makes it harder to check and gives the opponent less time to react. Lum Berry gives some protection from otherwise crippling status, particularly burn, sleep, and paralysis. Finally, King's Rock gives just under a 50% chance to make the opponent flinch after every Skill Linked multi-hit attack, making it harder for the opponent to fight back. However, the flinch chance should not be relief on alone.

========

Usage Tips

While this set is not as immediately powerful as the Refrigerate set, it can lure in and deal with several checks to the common Refrigerate set, (AC) and along with other physical -ate ability users, such as Substitute + Protect PP stall, King's Shield abusers, and other contact move punishment (This is a very hard sentence to understand. Is the sense that it beats all these Pokemon? If so, why? It is not clear. Clarify this so I can finish the check for this bit). As such, this set gets most of its mileage by bluffing a traditional Refrigerate set by and not revealing its Skill-Linked (AH) moves until the time is right. But b Be wary of opposing Imposters, (AC) as they can invalidate the element of surprise who will easily reveal the gameplan in an instant.

========

Team Options

As this set's main draw is its ability to to be paired with an -ate user in order to bluff and lure in checks to -ate ability users checks, this set pairs excellently with any common -ate user, in particularly especially a second Kyurem-Black running the first set. These -ate ability users also have the benefit of checking Imposters of this set very well. However, since it Refrigerate Kyurem-B is a set-up Pokemon with excellent coverage, something that can wall boosted neutral hits, such as Fur Coat Slowbro-Mega Mega Slowbro, Unaware Cresselia, or Sturdy Shedinja, are is mandatory to stop an opposing counter- sweep (RH) if your -ate ability check cannot switch in safely.

During the bluffing phase of the game, this Kyurem-Black is liable to force several switches, so it appreciates hazard support to rack up damage as opponents flee from it and checks and counters come in their place. It is also weak to all hazards, so Rapid Spin and Defog support are always appreciated handy. And finally, t This set is weak to Shedinja, so a reliable counter to it, such as a Pokemon with Mold Breaker + Pursuit, is practically mandatory.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

Refrigerate sets have a number of usable Normal-typed moves, (AC) that have with a variety of uses. Facade paired with a Toxic Orb creates a high risk, high reward, somewhat Imposter-resistant (AH) set. This results in short less longevity, so recovery or escape moves are necessary. Rapid Spin, when used with Refrigerate, makes for unblockable hazard removal. But, as since Kyurem-Black is weak to hazards, this isn't an ideal choice. Explosion can also be ran run, (AC) as the power is high enough to OHKO some would-be checks and counters while crippling the few who survive, including potential Imposter switch-ins. However, the power makes checking Imposter Pokemon very difficult if they get in safely and decide to sacrifice themselves. Feint is an option for bypassing King's Shield and Spiky Shield as well as potentially outspeeding and picking off other Extreme Speed users. However, the power is low and even lower against Protean- users (RH) because of the resist (? Why do Protean users necessarily resist Feint? Even if I've missed something, never use 'resist' as a noun. The word is 'resistance'), so it serves little use beyond this. Boomburst can also be used to hit certain physically-inclined (AH) walls, such as against Fur Coat users, (ACs) much harder than any of Kyurem-B's physical moves, such as against Fur Coat users.

On sets using Bolt Strike, Fusion Bolt is an option with more accuracy, (RC) but less power, which can make it miss out on important KOs. Conversely, sets with Thousand Arrows may opt for Earthquake or Precipice Blades for more power at the risk of Levitate Steel-types with Levitate and certain Flying Pokemon, such as Ho-Oh, being a potential nuisances. Taunt can be fit in on onto sets as it completely shuts down passive counters to Refrigerate sets, such as Fur Coat Chansey. Knock Off can also be used to take advantage of switches to remove items on the switch, most notably removing Chansey's Eviolite and potentially some Poison Healer's Toxic Orbs from Pokemon with Poison Heal before they the orbs activate.

Low Kick can also be ran run on any set to hit most Levitate Steel-types with Levitate hard, but Ground - and Electric-type (AHs) moves provide better coverage in general. If they can spare a slot, all sets appreciate recovery moves such as Heal Order, which allows Kyurem-B better lack to better leverage its bulk. Infestation and Leech Seed are options on all sets to help deal with Shedinja and Imposter, the latter of which can also be used on predicted King's Shield turns to further wear down walls and help keep Kyurem-B healthy.

Finally, Kyurem-Black has the typing and access to the right STAB moves to run a Technician set, utilizing moves such as Dual Chop, Dragon Tail, and Bonemerang in addition to those listed in its Skill Link set. While the power is potentially higher, the performance is less consistent with on moves such as Icicle Spear.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Entry Hazards**: Most Kyurem-B sets lack recovery, so, with its weakness to Stealth Rock, it is very vulnerable to residual damage from hazards, making hazard removal support almost mandatory.

**Opposing -ates**: Refrigerate, Aerilate, and especially Pixelate users can KO or force Kyurem-B out if it's not running King's Shield. However, all common users struggle to switch into Kyurem-B's attacks, if they can at all. Refrigerate Kyurem-B can also check them in return if it gets a safe switch into them.

**Physically Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon invested in physical bulk, such as Mega Slowbro Slowbro-Mega, Aggron-Mega Mega Aggron, Mega Scizor Scizor-Mega, Regenerator + Assault Vest Regirock and Registeel, and Fur Coat users, can cause problems for Kyurem-Bs lacking set-up moves. Additionally, Steel-typed checks may be able to hit back with their STAB. Physically bulky Pokemon with Unaware Unawares, such as some Cresselias, can shut down Kyurem-B even with a boosting move. Boomburst can bypass many of these if they lack Soundproof.

**Status**: Burns absolutely cripple Kyurem-B and it is not very fond of Sleep either. The Anti-Imposter and Skill Link sets also do not appreciate paralysis.

**Mewtwo- Mega- X (RHs)**: While it cannot switch in on Kyurem-B's attacks, Protean, Contrary, and other sets can easily OHKO Kyurem-B with a Fighting move.

**Protean Users**: If they are using King's Shield, which most do, they can give most Kyurem-B a lot of trouble and potentially KO them of if Kyurem-B stays in. Kyu-B usually doesn't need to worry about Proteans without King's Shield if it doesn't have to switch-in on their attacks.
**Primal Groudon**: While it cannot switch into most of Kyurem-B's attacks, it can take any unboosted hit except Water Shuriken without investing in its bulk and can cripple or KO Kyurem-B with moves such as V-Create, Precipice Blades, or occasional super- effective (RH) coverage.

Apologies for the lack of updating on this. I'm out of town right now and can't really edit the OP to implement the changes on my phone. Well, I could, but I'd be more likely to erase things by accident. That and since my phone is barely a smart phone, it takes 5-10 minutes to get it to load the GP spoiler. >.>

I'll edit and implement the changes in a few days when I'm home again.

Okay, edits made, sorry about how long it took! There's a few instances where I made changes different from what was suggested to clarify what I actually meant, like on the note about Safety Goggles in the second set.

Its main sets allow it to revenge KO kill even faster opponents foes. This offensive pressure can keep the opponent foe from trying to set up and sweep with a frail sweeper, lest it be picked off. Foes also have to be wary of sending in Imposters or Shedinja because, while although they can shut down most sets, Kyurem-B is capable of running a set to beat both of them.

However, Kyurem-B has greater bulk than either of them, allowing it to beat threats the other two that they cannot handle.

Moves
========

The first two moves on this set are mandatory, as they are what make Kyurem-B so dangerous. Fake Out helps Kyurem-B rack up free damage against many targets and so that they can be finished off with an Extreme Speed. Most frail Pokemon are 2HKOed by the combination.

In the third slot, Bolt Strike gives Kyurem-B amazing coverage that is only resisted by Pokemon with abilities granting an Electric immunity. It also allows it to quickly dispatch Primal Kyogre and (RIP P-Ogre and P-Don) Mega Gyarados, which(space)Kyurem-B has trouble with otherwise, while allowing it to hit Steel-types neutrally. If Steel-types are more of a concern, Thousand Arrows is an option to deal with them better. It can also be run in the last move slot alongside Bolt Strike to allow Kyurem-B to bypass many would-be checks. Earth Power can be run for similar reasons to bypass certain Pokemon with lopsided defenses, such as Mega Aggron, who that have the physical bulk to otherwise wall Kyruem-B with even Thousand Arrows, such as Mega Aggron.

In the last slot, King's Shield helps keep Kyurem-B from being revenge KOed killed by opposing -ate ability users, most notably Mega Diancie, and Imposters, while also threatening and potentially shutting them down thanks to the -2 Attack drop it induces on contact. Swords Dance can be used on predicted switches to help Kyurem-B sweep the opponent'(apostrophe)s team, though running this move makes stopping an Imposter more difficult. As Kyurem-B often forces switches, U-Turn U-turn can be used to scout the opponent foe and maintain offensive pressure.

========

Set Details
========

The listed EVs maximize Kyurem-B's power and bulk while also reaching a allowing it to switch into Stealth Rock number five times. Icicle Plate maximizes the power of Kyurem-B's STAB moves without any recoil while Rocky Helmet can punish opposing physically offensive -ate ability users, Imposters, and Shedinja that attempt to attack Kyurem-B, especially when paired with King's Shield.

========

Usage Tips
========

Because Extreme Speed has very limited PP and is Kyurem-B's main attack, it is necessary to scout before committing fully to a sweep. As such, early- and mid-game, Kyurem-B should be used to force switches, prevent set-up, revenge KO kill, and occasionally use Extreme Speed on a Pokemon that would be seriously hurt and will likely switch out to keep your opponent from predicting your own switch. While Kyurem-B is a threatening sweeper, it needs to be able to set-(RH) up. However, once its checks and counters are out of play, Kyurem-B can clean up the game very efficiently.

Be wary of King's Shield, as it is a very common defensive move that can easily force Kyurem-B to switch due to the attack Attack drop. Rocky Helmet holders are also fairly common and can quickly inflict a lot of residual damage.

========

Team Options
========

As Kyurem-B forces a lot of switches, it appreciates entry hazard support to build up damage against checks and counters and to guarantee some KOes with Fake Out + and Extreme Speed. As it is also weak to entry hazards itself, Kyurem-B appreciates Rapid Spin or Defog support to keep its side of the field clear. Kyurem-B also appreciates Wish and Cleric cleric support to keep it healthy, as it may need to switch into status moves or weak attacks to pressure the opponent foe.

Offensively, teammates that can eliminate Kyurem-B's checks and counters are useful. While Rocky Helmet kills KOes Shedinja, Kyurem-B does not appreciate being hit with Endeavor from Sturdy Shedinja. As such, Mold Breaker + Pursuit users, such as Mega Gengar, are good teammates, as they can easily eliminate Shedinja. Illusion users can disguise themselves as Kyurem-B to lure in and trap or destroy its checks and counters for Kyurem-B. Mega Gengar does this particularly well when mega-evolved from regular Gengar Mega Evolved so that it can trap the foe with Shadow Tag.

Aegislash-Shield makes for a good defensive partner, (AC) as it resists or is immune to all of Kyurem-B's weaknesses, is slow enough to bring it in safely with a U-Turn U-turn or Parting Shot, and, if Kyu-B lacks Precipice Blades, can easily check Pokemon that have transformed into Kyurem-B with Imposter should Kyurem-B lack Precipice Blades. Poison Heal Primal Kyogre is another good partner if Kyu-B does not run Bolt Strike, as it can set up on Imposters of Kyurem-B and also take down most of Kyurem-B's checks.

Most Imposters run the default maximum happiness, so Frustration is the best choice for the first slot, as it not only hits hard after a Refrigerate boost, but also causes Imposters to inflict very little damage back. Bolt Strike is Kyurem-B's best coverage move, as not only does Kyurem-B resist it, but it beats Primal Kyogre and Mega Gyarados, which who would wall the set otherwise, and it hits most Steel-types neutrally. Crabhammer Hammer is another option if Primal Groudon is a concern; it can also be run in the third or fourth slot if using a Choice-locked set Band.

Infestation not only allows Kyurem-B to kill KO Shedinja, which otherwise walls this set, on the switch, a Pokemon that would otherwise wall this set, but also to trap opposing Imposters, allowing Kyurem-B to knock them out. Spore is another option if using Safety Goggles, (AC) as it allows Kyurem-B to put the Imposter to sleep, making it easier for Kyurem-B to remove it. Leech Seed doesn't cripple Imposters as much, (RC) but allows for Kyurem-B to take HP from them and also has the benefit of killing KO Shedinja.

Shift Gear is not only a set-up move that allows for an easier sweep, but it can also lure Imposters in. Fake Out allows Kyurem-B to not only bluff a standard Refrigerate set, but also inflict free damage on opponents foes and sometimes revenge KO on weakened Pokemon. U-Turn U-turn helps to scout the opponent's foe's moves. It is particularly good on a Choice Band set.

Safety Goggles are primarily used on a set running Spore, but the immunity to opposing Spore users is always handy. The Choice Band gives Kyurem-B great wall(remove space)breaking capabilities while also inflicting more damage on Imposters than they can do back.

========

Usage Tips
========

This set can be used to bluff Extreme Speed sets, especially if Fake Out is run, so use this fact to force switches by threatening a KO with Extreme Speed.

========

Team Options
========

Thanks to an Imposter's Frustration often being very weak, (AC) Pokemon that would otherwise have poor synergy with Kyurem-B can be good teammates, such as Giratina and Lugia. Imposter-weak sweepers Sweepers weak to Imposters/Imposter users (still don't know what the right term is) appreciate this Kyurem-B's ability to shut Imposters down and also to deal with certain walls such as opposing Giratina.

As it is weak to all entry hazards, Kyurem-B is greatly helped by Rapid Spin and Defog support. The given coverage moves mean that Kyurem-B has trouble breaking certain walls, such as physically invested defensive Registeel and Aegislash-Shield, so partners that can break them down are appreciated. This set is also checked by opposing -ate ability users, so Pokemon such as Aegislash-Shield help greatly to stop them. Since As this set is merely Imposter resistant to Imposters/Imposter users, rather than immune, it appreciates Wish support to help it do its job over the course of the match, especially against teams with two Pokemon with Imposter. If not running Infestation, a teammate that can eliminate Sturdy Shedinja, such as one with Mold Breaker + Pursuit, is necessary.

With Skill Link, Icicle Spear has an effective base power Base Power of 125 and can bypass substitutes Substitute. It can also pick off certain fast and frail sweepers, such as Mega Aerodactyl, or other weakened Pokemon without the need to set-(RH) up. However, if eliminating Pokemon such as Prima; Kyogre Mega Gyarados is more important, Bullet Seed is an option. U-Turn U-turn is also an option to scout the opponent foe and potentially bluff Refrigerate.

Shift Gear is the preferred set-(RH)up move to allow Kyurem-B to outspeed faster Pokemon. However, Swords Dance can be used instead to hit harder and also bluff Refrigerate. King's Shield lets Kyurem-B deal with Fake Out and Extreme Speed more easily. The move can also be run in the third slot if set-(RH)up is needed more than additional coverage.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread allows Adamant Kyurem-B to outspeed Jolly Primal Groudon at +1 after a single Shift Gear. This spread also still (may wanna give a new main spread) keeps an odd HP to minimize Life Orb and Stealth Rock damage. An alternative spread of 144 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe can be used to outspeed positive nature Deoxys-Speed after one boost.

Finally, King's Rock gives just under a 50% chance to make the opponent foe flinch after every multi-hit attack.

Usage Tips
========

While this set is not as immediately powerful as the Refrigerate set, it can lure in and deal with several checks, such as Substitute + Protect PP stall, King's Shield abusers, and certain strong walls, that the Refrigerate set and other physically offensive -ate ability users can have trouble with. As such, this set gets most of its mileage by bluffing a traditional Refrigerate set and not revealing its Skill-Linked multi-hit moves until the time is right. Be wary of opposing Imposters, as they can invalidate the element of surprise.

========

Team Options
========

As this set's main draw is to lure in checjs checks to -ate ability users, this set pairs excellently with any common -ate user, especially a second Kyurem-B running the first set. These -ate ability users also have the benefit of checking Imposters of this set very well. However, although Skill Link Kyurem-B is a set-up Pokemon with has excellent coverage, something that can wall boosted neutral hits, such as Mega Slowbro, Unaware Cresselia, or Sturdy Shedinja, is mandatory to stop an opposing counter sweep if your -ate ability user cannot switch in safely against an Imposter.

During the bluffing phase of the game, this Kyurem-B is liable to force several switches, so it appreciates entry hazard support to rack up damage. It is also weak to all entry hazards, so Rapid Spin and Defog support are always appreciated. This set is weak to Shedinja, so a reliable counter to it, such as a Pokemon with Mold Breaker + Pursuit, is practically mandatory.

Other Options
========

But as because Kyurem-B is weak to entry hazards, this isn't an ideal choice. Explosion can also be run, as the power is enough to OHKO some would-be checks and counters while crippling the few who Pokemon that survive, including potential Imposter switch-ins. However, the power makes checking Imposter Pokemon very difficult if they get in safely and decide to sacrifice themselves. Feint is an option for bypassing King's Shield and Spiky Shield as well as potentially outspeeding and picking off other Extreme Speed users. However, the power is low and even lower against Protean-(RH) users, who frequetly which frequently run King's Shield to block Fake Out and Extreme Speed, so it serves little use beyond this. Boomburst can also be used to hit certain physically inclined walls, such as Fur Coat users, much harder than any of Kyurem-B's physical moves.

On sets using Bolt Strike, Fusion Bolt is an option with more accuracy but less power, (AC) which can make it miss out on important KOs. Conversely, sets with Thousand Arrows may opt for Earthquake or Precipice Blades for more power at the risk of Steel-types with Levitate and certain Flying-type Pokemon, such as Ho-Oh, being potential nuisances. Taunt can be onto sets as it completely shuts down passive counters to Refrigerate sets, such as Fur Coat Chansey. Knock Off can also be used to take advantage of switches, (AC) most notably removing Chansey's Eviolite and Toxic Orbs from Pokemon with Poison Heal before the orbs Orbs activate.

Low Kick can also be run on any set to hit most Steel-types with Levitate hard, but Ground- and Electric-type moves provide better coverage in general. If they can spare a moveslot, all sets appreciate recovery moves such as Heal Order, which gives Kyurem-Black better bulk longevity. Infestation and Leech Seed are options on all sets to help deal with Shedinja and Imposter, the latter of which and Leech Seed can also be used on predicted King's Shield turns to wear down walls and help keep Kyurem-B healthy.

===================

**Entry Hazards**: Most Kyurem-B sets lack recovery, so, with its weakness to Stealth Rock, it is very vulnerable to residual damage from entry hazards, making entry hazard removal support almost mandatory.

**Opposing -ates Ability Users**: Refrigerate, Aerilate, and especially Pixelate Pixilate users can KO Kyurem-B or force Kyurem-B it out if it's not running King's Shield. However, all common users struggle to switch into Kyurem-B's attacks. Refrigerate Kyremu-B can also check them in return if it gets a safe switch into them.

**Physically Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon invested in physical bulk, such as Mega Slowbro, Mega Aggron, Mega Scizor, Regenerator + Assault Vest Regirock and Registeel, and Fur Coat users, can cause problems for Kyurem-B lacking set-(RH)up moves. Additionally, Steel-type checks may be able to hit back with their STAB attacks. Physically with Unaware users, such as some Cresselia, can shut down Kyurem-B even with a boosting move. Boomburst can bypass many of these if they lack Soundproof, however.

**Status**: Burns absolutely cripple Kyurem-B, (AC) and it is not very fond of Sleep sleep either. The Anti-Imposter and Skill Link sets also do not appreciate paralysis.

**Mega Mewtwo Mega X**: While it cannot switch in on Kyurem-B's attacks, Protean, Contrary, and other many of Mega Mewtwo X's sets can easily OHKO Kyurem-B with a Fighting-type move.

**Protean Users**: If they are using King's Shield, (AC) they can give most Kyurem-B trouble and potentially KO Kyurem-B if Kyurem-B it stays in.

**Primal Groudon**: While it cannot switch into most of Kyurem-B's attacks, it can take any unboosted hit except Water Shuriken without investing in its bulk and can cripple or KO Kyurem-B with moves such as V-Create, Precipice Blades, or occasional super effective coverage.

Also, is the correct term "Imposter user" or just "Imposter" for a Pokemon with the ability? I'd think it's Imposter user; if it is, change them. If it's not, leave them.

Thanks for the check, I'll get to making the changes soon. Dropping by to say I'll likely replace references to Primal Ogre with ones to regular Ogre rather than outright remove them, since in X/Y it literally ran pretty much all the same sets Pogre did and gave Kyu-B about as much trouble. Though I'll double check this and the Pdon outspeeding spread you mentioned with QC members first just to be sure.

I got sidetracked a little bit, but, tagging E4 Flint Uselesscrab and Piccolo Daimao just for a quick opinion before I update: change Primal Ogre to regular Ogre and the Shift Gear set's spread to outspeed Ytwo or Deo-S after a boost rather than Scarf Pdon? Would all that be good or do I need to do something different?

All finished. Sorry it took me so long, Real Life™ has been very hectic.

Snobalt The common term in BH and other OMs, as far as I can see, is just Imposter and the OM Grammar Standards thread doesn't specify whether to use Imposter or Imposter user. So, for the time being, I'm leaving it as Imposter. But again, thanks for the check, and sorry for taking forever to implement it!

Banned deucer.
Rumors why is there no mention of its biggest selling point (revenging with Fake Out and Extreme Speed) in the Overview?

Under Team Options for the first set: "As Kyurem-B forces a lot of switches, it appreciates entry hazard support to build up damage against checks and counters and to guarantee some KOes with Fake Out and Extreme Speed. As it is also weak to entry hazards itself, Kyurem-B appreciates Rapid Spin or Defog support to keep its side of the field clear. Kyurem-B also appreciates Wish and cleric support to keep it healthy, as it may need to switch into status moves or weak attacks to pressure the foe." There is no specific partner listed. What runs hazards? What runs Defog or spin support? What clerics work with Kyurem-Black?

Under Team Options for the second set: "As it is weak to all entry hazards, Kyurem-B is greatly helped by Rapid Spin and Defog support. If not running Infestation, a teammate that can eliminate Sturdy Shedinja, such as one with Mold Breaker + Pursuit, is necessary." Again, what specific Pokemon support with Rapid Spin and Defog? What breaks down Registeel and Aegislash? What runs Wish support?

Under Team Options for the third set: "As this set's main draw is to lure in checks to -ate ability users, this set pairs excellently with any common -ate user, especially a second Kyurem-B running the first set. These -ate ability users also have the benefit of checking Imposters of this set very well. Again, list specific hazard setters and removers, and a specific user of Mold Breaker Pursuit.

Not sure why I didn't get notified of your post, but...

Rumors why is there no mention of its biggest selling point (revenging with Fake Out and Extreme Speed) in the Overview?
Only one set uses it, so I don't feel the need to mention it in the overview when less than 50% of the recommended sets run the combination. The set that does include it stresses the importance and power of the combination just fine.

There is no specific partner listed. What runs hazards? What runs Defog or spin support? What clerics work with Kyurem-Black?
Due to the variety of the BH meta, almost every defensive Pokemon might be running hazards, Defog, Heal Bell, or Wish. Not to mention, some offensive Pokemon run hazards and Defog/spin too. I can put down examples, but, honestly, it's just scratching the surface and mentioning the same examples over and over throughout the article might make it seem like only a few can when nearly everything can use them effectively or listing various examples might be confusing to readers. A bit of a catch 22.

Again, what specific Pokemon support with Rapid Spin and Defog? What breaks down Registeel and Aegislash? What runs Wish support?
Primal Don was listed for the Steel types, but I suppose I could probably add regular Groudon. For the other points, see above.

Again, list specific hazard setters and removers, and a specific user of Mold Breaker Pursuit.
I suppose I could list Gengar again. Or something a little different like Deoxys-Speed for Moldy.
