Banned from PS, yet I never used it before.

I was on Smogon today for the third time in my life and found the Pokemon Showdown. I opened it and hit "Play Online." When it loaded, it said my IP address was on their abuse list and that I'm banned, although this was the first time in my life I EVER used it. This is my personal computer, no one else has ever used it. Why am I banned???

I created my forum profile simply to ask this question, so I know it can't have anything to do with my profile.

A few questions:
Are you using a proxy?
Do you know anyone who could've gotten on your computer to get you banned?
What was your username on PS, so I can potentially get a mod to recap the modlog for you?
Are you telling the truth?

...that being said, if you've got a dynamic IP (one that changes regularly) it's probably landed on one of the ranges encompassed in the proxy bans

It's probably because you're using a public internet or proxy, they tend to have people using them, then get banned. They ban per IP, so try to not use proxies or public connections. I know for a fact someone got banned via my school wifi, which is why I can't connect from there ._.
