About Battling 101:
The player has the right to fight the tutor in at most 3 battles (singles or doubles), being two 2vs2 and one 3vs3. In those battles the player can use either rentals, aka, copies of pokemon owned by registered players, or his own mons. The Tutor should respond with either rentals or pokemon of his own that match the level of the ones used by the player.

The battle will play out normally, with the tutor playing to win. During the match, the tutor should give tips on moves and what-not, but only after the player orders. Comment on why a certain strategy you/they used went right/wrong and why you/they won/lost the battle.

The Pupil isn't obligated to use all 3 battles, or to use them before or after registering. They can register their team and use the 3 battles to pratice with them. Or they can use the 3 battle solely to try on stuff. Or they can test with 2 matches, register a team and then use the last one as a final test. Or any other way that seems fit.

You are aware that Tomohawk doesnt benefit at all from Lucky Egg, right?

Sure, it can be a bluff, if using an useless item is only good if you REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY want to lure in a mon. And in this situation I need to send in either slowpoke or drifblim (or both) and both have business with tomo and no business with zorua. So you are not really luring anything in specific.

In situations like the above, just roll with amulet coin or exp. share.

Hmmmm...

tbh the bluff was interesting. It just didn't make that much of a difference in this specific situation. On a single situation or with bigger teams involved, it would be pretty ballsy and potentially rewarding.

Confuse Ray is "eh". You trade an action for a small unreliable chance of 0-2 actions. Most of the time it is an even trade: 1 for 1. With the added problem of you not knowing which action your opponent will lose. In this specific situation it made some kind of difference, as confusion kicked in on the action you were protecting, which is arguably the worst time for it to happen.

Still, given the movepools of your mons, it was a nice start. Personally I would have gone with Air Cutter instead of Aura Sphere (and confuse ray) in your position since it deals a clean 22.5hp of damage total. Food for thought tho.

This will strike as a very weird rule of thumb, but rule of thumb: on doubles you can probably afford to repeat moves more often than not. Usually your Hp will deplete much faster than your En when there are more pokemon involved.

So I would Dark Pulse thrice in your place.

Another tip: Usually your Helping Hand will have power equal to the bap of the boosted move multiplied by the NVE/SE modifiers. So like, Marill's HH will increase damage in 8*1.5= 12hp. I am saying this because HH is very costy, so if you have any move that can deal more damage than [BoostedMove]*[SEMultiplier], it is best to use that move. In this case, Waterfall and Aqua Tail would be better choices. Unless you are worried about priority (which isn't the case about A1 at least).

HH usually is only worth it if you are boosting a move with 10 or more bap and/or the boosted move is hitting x4 SE.

Final Tip: if your target has 60ish hp you can, more often than not, bring it down early and prevent it from moving, avoiding some crucial attack. If you are facing such a situation, try to work your match to net the KO early if possible. Case in point: Drifblim goes down before moving A2 if you Dark Pulse twice with zorua and HH the second dark pulse with marill. That would meant two less actions from drifblim instead of the possible one your current moveset brings. So you would avoid like 20hp with 0 sacrifices, simply due to smart move placement.
