Just a heads up - because Mega Pidgeot hasn't actually been released yet, I haven't been able to actually test this team outside battling against my friends so I have no clue how this team would do if I attempted to ladder with it.
But anyways, here's the team in more detail, and my thought process behind it.

Pidgeot @ Pidgeotite
Ability: Tangled Feet / No Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Heat Wave
- Hurricane
- Uproar
- Roost
Pidgeot's special movepool is pretty shallow, but it can make good use of what it has. No Guard makes Pidgeot's Heat Wave and Hurricane never miss, which is awesome, especially for Hurricane, which is the strongest special Flying move Pidgeot has access to, and the 30% chance of confusion is an added bonus.
Uproar is the strongest special Normal move that Pidgeot has (that isn't Hyper Beam). Unfortunately Pidgeot doesn't get Hyper Voice, so I had to go with Uproar. Pidgeot will get locked into it for three turns, but it stops irritating things like Spore or Rest happening which is a plus. Roost is there for obvious reasons - to help Pidgeot stay alive for as long as possible. And also because Pidgeot has no other decent special attacking choices other than Hidden Power.
Pidgeot has no way of boosting its Special Attack, which could pose a problem against something that has decent Special Defense, whether it's EV-invested or not, which is why I've decided to put Togekiss in this team.

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Baton Pass
- Nasty Plot
- Thunder Wave
- Air Slash
However, Togekiss also has lots of other options that would work in place of Thunder Wave and Air Slash, including Roost, Substitute, Wish, Encore, Heal Bell... The list goes on. I just went with the paraflinching option 'cause I just like it, and it means it can still function even when its boosting abilities aren't needed anymore.
However, I still need a plan B in case I can't get Togekiss's boosts onto Pidgeot for some reason. I thought that entry hazards would be a good way of chipping an opponent's health down so Pidgeot could make some OKHO's out of otherwise 2HKO situations.

Ferrothorn @ Focus Sash
Ability: Anticipation
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Knock Off
I gave it a Focus Sash because there are going to be some instances where I have to let Ferrothorn get hit by some super-effective move, but with the Focus Sash, it can at least set up at least one layer of hazards. Leech Seed is Ferrothorn's only source of health recovery, and Knock Off is always a powerful and useful move to have and ensures it can still attack if it gets taunted.
Now I need something that can shut down Defog users and Rapid Spinners.

Sableye @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Foul Play
- Taunt
- Recover
Now Pidgeot itself has all the support it needs, but what do I do if it dies? Or what if I'm up against a bulky Specially Defensive Pokemon? I need more offense on the team now, obviously!

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
For the last slot, I decided to go with a dedicated Physical attacker....

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Force
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Rock Slide
Excadrill is a strong Physical attacker who can use Rapid Spin. This is good for spinning away Stealth Rock which Pidgeot is weak to, as well as any other entry hazards that have ended up on my side of the field. With base 88 Speed and no Sandstorm support on this team, I figured Excadrill wasn't going to outspeed anything so I made it a bulky Excadrill instead - its base 110 HP is nothing to scoff at. Swords Dance boosts his attack which lets him fulfill his position of a dedicated Physical attacker, then a STAB move of Earthquake as well as an accurate Rock move in Rock Slide rounds off Excadrill's moveset.
