Project Break This Team (Week 42)

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 32 Atk / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Diamond Storm
- Protect

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch

Diancie Zone cores are great, as many of Diancie's checks are trapped and eliminated by Magnezone so that Diancie can unleash its huge offensive pressure. This team is no exception, with Diancie OHKOing a large portion of the team. The team can't even try to tie with Diancie as the Latios is running HP Fire. The only ways it has of dealing with Diancie are Jirachi, which gets trapped by Magnezone if it's locked into anything but U-Turn, and letting Lando take a hit. If lando takes even like 30% prior damage then it's curtains.
224 SpA Mega Diancie Moonblast vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-T: 214-253 (64.2 - 75.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

32 Atk Mega Diancie Diamond Storm vs. 0 HP / 24 Def Gardevoir: 228-268 (82.3 - 96.7%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

224 SpA Mega Diancie Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Keldeo: 390-462 (120.7 - 143%) -- guaranteed OHKO

224 SpA Mega Diancie Moonblast vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 408-482 (97.8 - 115.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

224 SpA Mega Diancie Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Latios: 326-386 (109 - 129%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off

Gothitelle @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 168 HP / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Trick
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
HP Ice Gothitelle is fucking cash rn because it removes all of the regular answers that most teams have for scizor with ease and makes it really easy for scizor to sweep. Since Jirachi is running ice punch over fire punch on this team, literally nothing on the team can break bulky scizor after gothitelle does its shit barring major hax from jirachi lol. After Keldeo, landot, and chomp have been removed by Gothtitelle , Scizor is free to set up with sd and sweep. For those of you saying, that's too much for goth to kill omg, chomp's gonna use dtail and underslow goth catching an HP Ice to the noggin, keldeo can be killed when its locked into secret sword, and landot might be more of a problem but it still can be removed fairly easily due to the surprise factor of hp ice.

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance / Pursuit
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch

Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off

AV Azumarill itself does a number to the team, beating Keldeo, Lando, and probs even Latios and Garchomp. Bisharp is also a huge threat to the team, threatening pretty much everything with a Knock Off (Keldeo doesn't like to be knocked off, despite the resist). The only switchins for Bisharp, Garchomp and Keldeo, are easily beaten by Azumarill with Play Rough. Azumarill can come in on a hard special attack from M-Garde directed at Bisharp, and Bisharp can come in on Latios's Psyshock directed at Azumarill. These two, despite being slow, still both do a lot of harm to the team.

Raikou @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Substitute

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- U-turn
- Healing Wish
- Ice Punch

The fact that Latios is Psychic and not Psyshock means that Raikou comes in on Iron Head locked Rachi, on -2 Latios, or simply forces a switch on Keldeo, Garchomp or Lando and can Sub up or CM up. Of course, Hyper Voice goes around the Sub, but Gard is the only thing on the team that can actually deal with Raikou at +1, so Scarf Rachi of my own is nice to beat Gard and get U-Turns off to bring out Raikou the god to get more kills.

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower / Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 76 Atk / 180 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Knock Off
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Electric Spam just decimates this core. Mega Manectric itself can kill off Jirachi, Keldeo, Landorus-T, and Garchomp with its Hidden Power Ice, while Thundurus handles Latios by luring it with Knock Off and both of them take big chunks out of Mega Gardevoir.

Pursuit Bisharp + Serperior

Bisharp @ BlackGlasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 52 SpD / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Fire
- Giga Drain

Serperior is a rather large threat to this team especially if it gets a free switch against Keldeo. It OHKOs Keldeo at neutral while boosting to +2, at which point it cleanly OHKOs every other member of the team barring Jirachi which can also outspeed it. Basic premise of this core is that Bisharp Pursuit traps Jirachi and KOs it, which then forces in either Garchomp or Keldeo. Serperior cannot set up on a full HP Garchomp but if it's around half HP (which Bisharp can help to achieve) then it can KO with Leaf Storm and proceed to sweep.

Electrics spam is super good rn. A lot of people only have a few electric checks that they'll slap on last minute and call it a day, especially offensive teams. NP Thundy and Mega Mane easily wear down the likes of Lati, Hippo, and SDef Tran for one another. Since the core does struggle somewht against stall though, and needed a more dedicated Lai switch-in, I chose Magma Storm Tran as the next partner, since it can trap problem mons like Chansey and wear down stuff like Gastro. BD Azu simply benefits from the other Pokemon being around. It appreciated Lati being weakened by all the other mons so far, while also stuff Like Keldeo and Rotom-W being put into +6 AJ range by Magma Storm. The electric types can weaken the likes of Mega Venu as well. Lati is a reliable keldeo check as well as a defogger, and finally, Breloom fits in pretty much the same as Azu does. Helps wear down Lati, forms a solid 1-2 punch kind of core with rest of the team for Mega Venu, and can soft check Lopunny, which is easily the biggest threat to this team. You can use T wave NP Thundy if setup sweepers are too much, which works for sure, I just like being able to lure and KO Ferro.

EDIT: Sorry, made a mistake. corrected now.

This core threatens the team immensely and can definitely run through the team in conjunction with one another. At team preview, the opponent will probably think that serp has hp fire to kill like scizor and skarm and shit, but with HP ground serperior lures in and kills heatran, the only mon stopping both of these mons from firing off their STAB moves every time that they come in. Garde literally OHKOs every member of the team bar azu with hyper voice once Hearan has been weakened, and azu can't switch into its attacks at all. Additionally, serp isn't really threatened as much as you would think by the team since thundy lacks twave, and serp can tank both of the prio moves on this team, so it can easily sweep with mmane out of the way. When Serp forces a switch or when it kills lol, it can giga drain up to regain HP sustained from LO recoil and this core kinda buttrapes the team after serp lures tran kek.

These two are a pretty big pain for this team. Despite having a pair of dual Electric types, neither Thundurus or Manectric can deal with a +1 Gyarados. It's able to set up on Heatran and can pretty much blow up the team from that point. The only real check to this particular set is Azumarill. As a result Toxicroak makes for a great partner. Although it isn't able to switch into Play Rough, Croak really doesn't have any switch ins on this team, so bringing it in on Azumarill puts a ton of pressure on whoever's piloting Halcyon's team. It also outruns both Breloom and Heatran, so there are plenty of opportunities to get this sucker in on a double switch.

and

why does manaphy look so tiny lol

Honestly, the Manaphy isn't even necessary. Mega Altaria cleans this team by itself. It gets tons of setup opportunities and pretty much OHKOs most of the team at +1, being able to set up on Latios (especially if it's at -2 from Draco), Breloom (if it's already put something to sleep), Mega Manectric, Thundurus, and even Heatran since it lacks Flash Cannon. Thundurus is incapable of stopping its sweep since it lacks twave. Manaphy just helps it beat with its shakier setup fodder like tran and loom.

One of my favourite cores which just happens to destroy this team (and most teams tbh). CharX at +1 has very few checks, most of which Serperior can dispatch (Heatran, Slowbro, Quagsire, etc). Starmie removes rocks and also takes care of defensive Lando-T. Normally I run psyshock over Tbolt on starmie for Keldeo & M-Venu but Tbolt works better here. Also Breloom can be ran instead of Serperior to have a better matchup against sand at the cost of being weaker to Slowbro.

Vs this team, Serperior lures Heatran with HP ground and takes care of Azu with leaf storm, and also absorbs Breloom's spore. Starmie removes Heatran's rocks as well as providing additional pressure on Heatran and Azumarill with hydro pump and thunderbolt respectively should Serp go down, also hurts Breloom with ice beam. With those two weakened or removed, CharX can boost up against either Thundurus or Manectric and at +1 proceed to outspeed and sweep the remaining team.

Mamo's back. This electric spam team is very weak to it, since Mamo has the ability to hit 5/6 pokemon for super effective damage, It's able to revenge kill Thundurus, Breloom and Latios after a bit of prioir damage, laugh at anything Manectric tries to do and shit on Heatran. Even Azumarill loathes Earthquake. Meanwhile, Celebi can switch into anything but Knock Off and threaten it with Seed Bomb, or proceed to set up a Swords Dance as Azu tries to BD and OHKO it. If it switches into Breloom, Celebi can even Baton Pass a SD boost to Mamoswine, which can then possibly unleash hell if Azu is gone. For this, Celebi underspeeds Breloom.

252 Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Breloom: 205-244 (78.5 - 93.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Mega Manectric Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Thick Fat Mamoswine: 154-182 (42.6 - 50.4%) -- 1.2% chance to 2HKO

Like DoABarrelRoll said Mamoswine is a huge pain for electric spam in general, being able to take on Thundurus and Mega Manectric. When paired with Mega Pinsir, who can weaken Latios enough through a Quick Attack to the point where an Ice Shard finishes it. They both can take care of Breloom and Azumarill as non Banded Azumarill can't KO Mamoswine with Aqua Jet allowing it to ravage it with Earthquake and Quick Attack can KO it after a Belly Drum and prior damage. Heatran just gets curbstomped lol.

It's not gonna sweep right away, but RP Metagross can be very scary for this team with prior damaging. It forces away Latios and Azumarill easily and boosts to +2. From there, your STABs knock out every team member in one or two hits, with Hammer Arm taking care of Heatran. Earthquake can be used if you dislike the speed drop and prefer a guaranteed kill without SR. Jolly with 252 speed is an option, but this spread performs better here, providing more power, enough speed for Heatran pre-mega, and making you faster than Manectric after boosting. Even without a polish under its belt, Mega Metagross is still really threatening to this team because no member appreciates taking its attacks.

Aside from providing SR, Garchomp lures in Latios and Azumarill for Metagross to polish on. It's a good check to Breloom/Heatran, and keeps BD Azumarill from sweeping between recoil and EQ damage. It's better for Garchomp to avoid, but it can also take HP Ice from Manectric and Thundurus from full if needed! It's not as threatening as Mega Metagross is, but does a nice job supporting it for an eventual clean up.
