Bulky offense - Mega Heracross

Hello everyone, here is my first RMT with Mega-Heracross as the main star. The team is moderately offensive with some bulky pokemons that can check common threats while dealing damage. Any comments, advices or suggestions are welcome. (Sorry for my english, I try my best to be understandable)

Heracross (F) @ Heracronite
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rock Blast
- Pin Missile
- Close Combat
- Bullet Seed

So this is the pokemon which the team is built around. This thing can deal massive damage to almost every type of teams, that is why I choose it. Most of the time, I use normal-Heracross with Close combat, in order to get at least one attack boost with Moxie before mega-evolving. I run Bullet Seed instead of Earthquake because Aegislash is checked by Hippowdon and I have a lot of troubles with Azumarill so I don't want to offer him any opportunities.

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Earthquake
- Recover

As M-Heracross can deliver strong punches, I wanted a fast mixed sweeper that can remove the field from weakened pokemons or deal sufficient damage to bring M-Heracross' checks in its KO-range. Latios does the job well. It has nice typing and a strong Draco Meteor. Psyshock deals with special tanks and Earthquake is for Heatran and Tyranitar.

Rotom (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Rotom-W is my precious pivot. Defensively, it checks many physically sweepers with its typing and W-o-W. Offensively, its main task is to damage physically stallers that may stop M-Heracross such as Skarmory or Gliscor. It has a very nice typing and make a great combination with my sweepers. I always try to play it conservatively because most of the time, it is my best check to Talonflamme and Azumarill which ruin my team otherwise. If Rotom-W dies, the match usually turns really bad for me.

Excadrill (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake

Excadrill is my third sweeper and response to the fairies that Latias often attracts. Rapid spin is very useful for Latias that switch a lot due to Draco Meteor's drop. It benefits from the storm and can act as a finisher late game. I hesitate a lot to run Swords dance on Rock slide in order to have a better
offensive presence and not beeing useless against Skarmory.

Hippowdon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off

Hippowdon is a defensive pokemon that slow down the offensive pressure but it provides unvaluable support to the team with the SR and the ability to take moderate physically or specially hits. Most of the time, it is my lead and my first choice when I cannot anticipate the next move because it sponges attacks very well and save my sweepers from hits. I run Roar over Rock slide because Rotom-W deals
with flying attackers and Roar can deal passive damage with the SR and break baton pass teams. The sand storm stops Charizard-Y and activates Sand rush from Excadrill.

Clefable (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Moonblast
- Heal Bell
- Protect
- Wish

Clefable is the cleric of the team. Wish is mandatory in my opinion in order to keep my sweepers alive longer, especially Excadrill which is my only solution to fairies. I choosed Clefable among the others wishers because of its fairy typing that gives nice opportunities against fighting and dragon types. The dragon immunity gives a hand to Excadrill which already has to deal with fairies. While Sylveon has the same type and a better offensive presence, Unaware is so amazing and makes set-up sweepers less a problem, especially dragon dance Mega-Gyarados that can completely ruin the team. Heal Bell is really helpful in the case that M-Heracross or Excadrill get burned but I hesitate a lot to run Thunder Wave in order to have more opportunities for M-Heracross which is quite slow.

I have good feelings when I play, the team seems to be effective but I feel like there are some points that can be performed better and that is why I post this RMT, in order to get advises to improve the team. My playstyle is more about stall teams and it is kind of new for me to play more offensive intended teams. So any advises or comments will be of course welcome, I'll appreciate a lot

Thanks for reading and greetings from France

Excadrill (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake

Without Spd investment scarfed mons can outspeed u. U don't need hp for a sweeper.

Run 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spd on rotom for outspeeding jolly azumarill.

Your clefable set is a mix with the calminder and the cleric. U should run 252 Sdef. If u want a mixed fairy wall use sylveon. Higher Sdef even without investment.

I really don't understand why the sand. Your only abuser is excadrill. Latios gets 16% everytime (only against a stall u have time to recover) clefable and rotom gets damage. I would probably try thundurus over hippo (for spamming t-wave) and scarfed mold breaker excadrill or scarfed chomp.

Thanks for replying

Ok thank you for the EVs

You're right about the sand. The team is not a sand storm team and Excadrill is the only pokemon that benefits it. In fact I took Hippowdon because of its great defenses and SR support. Thundurus has a great prankster ability but not the same bulk as Hippo. Should I use the latter with Sand force and then put a Scarf on Exca as you advise ?

Can Sylveon 252 def handle at least one attack from M-Gyarados ? I'm quite sure Hyper voice can kill him but don't know if Sylveon will be still alive.

252+ Atk Mold Breaker Mega Gyarados Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sylveon: 154-183 (39 - 46.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

+1 252+ Atk Mold Breaker Mega Gyarados Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sylveon: 231-273 (58.6 - 69.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

4 SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gyarados: 218-260 (65.6 - 78.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Mold Breaker Mega Gyarados Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 144-171 (36.5 - 43.4%) -- 99.1% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

4 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gyarados: 158-188 (47.5 - 56.6%) -- 87.5% chance to 2HKO

(If u wanna do more calcs go here http://pokemonshowdown.com/damagecalc/)

Clefable get less damages and inflict less damages. Unaware, due to Mold Breaker didn't work.

If u wanna use defensive clefable use this set

Clefable (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
- Softboiled
- Flamethrower / Heal Bell / Hp Ground

But u lost the cleric. U should do some test.
