Hey guys, tcr here, a couple LC players wanted to submit a huge team dump of the teams they built in order to help further knowledge of the tier. A lot of people have misconceptions about the tier, some people complain that its super stally after they see something like Eo Stall, or complain that everything is too bulky (which it is compared to DPP or ORAS) or they might think that BW LC is home to way too many speed ties and the same 10 mons. BW LC has actually evolved a ton since the Murkrow ban about a year and a half ago, teams have stopped being the same 6 mons, stopped being dominated by the 3 Ms, Misdreavus, Murkrow, Mienfoo, and many Pokemon have largely become more and more viable. To illustrate that, and to show the extent of which BW LC has evolved, I have created a large team dump of all the BW LC players that wished to present teams to the rest of the community. Cheers to ZoroarkForever Coconut. tarn66 TUO Vileman fitzy72 atomicllamas Artemisa Cheek Pouch for submitting teams and playing one of my favorite metas of all time!
TCR teams
Such a fun team, I absolutely 100% knew Vileman brought Sand, so I just wanted to make clear that that was the only way this team worked (although in test matches it didn't do too bad either, just not nearly as well as against Sand teams). Misdreavus / Baltoy / Cacnea help to absolutely bop sand teams, while Buneary has Healing Wish for any of the threats on the team (mostly Teddiursa, whose job it was to break through thigns early then come back late game and win - this was the strat against non sand teams, as against sand teams it would be outsped by drilbur). Honestly this was the team I tested teh most, and the one that no one had faith in, so I'm really glad that it ended up working well. Love Vileman
This was a combination of an attempt at a counterteam and using something for fun, I was just messing around thinking of what to bring when Kingmidas suggested to bring rain (something I was already thinking about). It was originally threats like Omanyte and Mantyke, but Kingmidas suggested Buizel, and that was REALLY cool, so I ended up sticking with it. Buizel is cool because it lures in things that it can cripple with Choice Band Switcheroo if it needs to, but it can also just straight up kill shit with Waterfall, and is extremely threatening under Rain. It 2hkoes Resttalk Chinchou with Return LOL. Rain Dance Riolu and Rain Dance Misdreavus help keep rain up for Buizel, while Taillow helps to kill shit and stop Scraggy from doing what it does. Sleep Talk lets it be a good Foongus check as well, which relaly helps with Buizel.
I thought I would be fighting Coconut this week, and was really looking forward to it, but I wanted to meme her hard by just winning with Roar Riolu. Thus this is a hazard stack team, that uses some off hand counters to common pokemon in order to set up hazards, such as Shelmet and Stealth Rock Pawniard (something that isn't really used in BW). I never got to show off some of the cool stuff, as Timburr and Shelmet just won against the team Tarn brought, but this was a really successful team that I would bring to test matches and such, and is up there as one of my favorites and most solid teams.
I was pretty close to bringing a DragMag team this week, and although it may not look like it that was the concept behind this team as well. Double Ghost + Wynaut + Pursuit Dour is meant to beat things like Bronzor and Porygon, whereas Timburr and Foongus are generic checks to things like Mienfoo and Scraggy, more so Moxie Scraggy than anything. The Houndour set is my invention, as far as I know I'm the only one who uses Eviolite Houndour to check things like Misdreavus or Abra. This team deals with Sand Rush through a series of priority and Scarf Misdreavus, while Snow is dealt with through TImburr and Houndour.
This team was really my arrogance showing, I thought TUO would be a lot easier than he was and didn't treat him with the respect needed. I insisted on using Makuhita, and still insist that Makuhita isn't all that bad. My main issue was having a really shitty Scraggy set (I was 11 Speed Scraggy) that was also Ddance, and this cost me greatly. I was kind of trying to go for a stall team, similar to my week 3 team, but I was also trying to be offensive, so from the start I didn't really know what I was trying to build and just built something. I ended up changing things a ton throughout the week leading up to the battle, and this showed with having things that weren't really tested enough. Makuhita is pretty cool though, its a sort of check to Snow teams and is kinda cute.
After a humiliating defeat by TUO, i figured it was time for me to get serious, since the battles only got tougher from then on out. I also didn't feel like building to be honest, so I just made some generic Snow team that had solid matchups against a lot of things. Not too much to explain here, just a bunch of threats and a Munchlax to catch Abra + Misdreavus. Toxic Misdreavus lures in Vullaby and Porygon and lets me 1v1 them.
This was a team that I had had planned out since the beginning of LCPL, although I never finalized it until week 7. Omanyte was something I knew I wanted to build around, as Zf really really likes Vullaby, and Omanyte bops Vullaby. Scraggy + smasher is generally an effective core, as Scraggy can set up on things that stop smashers, like Ferroseed and Lileep. With those two I felt slightly weak to other Scraggy, so I added a Croagunk to my team to bop it and hope to wear it down a little. Zen Headbutt Scraggy still messes me up, especially if it can get a boost. This requires Misdreavus, specifically Scarf Misdreavus, probably my favorite Pokemon to use. Scarf Misdreavus can revenge kill Scraggy after its weakened a little, or can just sack itself if need be. With a weakness to Snover, I added in a Bronzor, as this lets me set up Rocks and such along with checking Snover and Double Rush. I'm still weak to Mold Breaker Drilbur though, so I added Cottonee to the team. I was also weak to some powerful set up sweepers, and I didn't know if ZF would try to overwhelm me, so I used a set that is one of my favorite homebrewed sets: Iron Ball Switcheroo Cottonee. Iron Ball Switcheroo lets Cottonee unexpectedly check several set up sweepers after they have already set up on something and helps to lure in some threatening things like Porygon or Lileep. Encore + Switcheroo is illegal, and I wanted to use Switcheroo since IMO its a lot better ot use than Encore, so Tailwind was a last minute effort to win games, since I could set up Tailwind and win late game.
This was something that I was going to try using any time between weeks 1-4. Its meant to be a double smasher team, that I ended up tweaking with ItzViper482. It was originally Clamperl + Shellder, but I felt like Tirtouga had more checks in common than Shellder, as well as Tirtouga giving me some needed priority to help bop things like double rush, that before ruined me. Misdreavus and Timburr were added on as both checks to Sand Rush teams and Scraggy. In particular, Misdreavus lures in Porygon so both Clamperl and Tirtouga can sweep freely. It functions as a third, back up win condition in the case that I can get a free set up, as Thunderbolt isn't needed to hit Vullaby with Magnemite and Tirtouga. Magnemite was added as a trapper to Pawniard, Ferroseed, and Bronzor, as well as a fast revenge killer. The team is slightly weak to regen core + Scraggy, but theoretically Misdreavus should be able to deal with that.

TUO teams
Standard sand stall, which was my version of Eo Ut Mortus' team (or it might be the same thing). Either way, I'm really comfortable playing this team and there isn't really much to it. It uses Slowpoke Lileep Hippo Defensive core with Mienfoo and Tentacool providing different kinds of support either with defensive typing synergy or Rapid Spin, then Drilbur takes souls with Sand Rush. I recommend using Drilbur and netting a quick-kill and trade 1-for-1 against their biggest threat, then win the 5v5 by war of attrition.
This is a easy TCR counter-team. It features Double-dark, Double-flying, and Double-ghost. All win-conditions paired with Riolu are viable, and you just gotta figure out which one is best to use and play around it. TBH this team is like really good and really exploitative, so take some souls
This is a almost a clone of dcae's old hyper-offense team. However, I realized that if any of these mons had a reflect on it, it would destroy like everything, unless you never get shed skin. You put reflect up or bait them into thinking its a hazard dwebble set and the game gets put wide open, and you can play on your terms. It's a pretty common theme in BW btw, you just have to make some play/opening lure that allows you to make others have to play the way you want, then while they're trying to keep up with you, you'll already be in their mum's bed.

Artemisa teams
It's a 2/3 regen core w/ a spinner and porygon as my sponge. SD Drilbur because it's soooo good and I remember running it back in 5th gen, Scarf Vullaby to revenge kill Missy and Scraggy which can be a threat despite my foongus and Mienfoo.
This is another old 5th gen team I made that I really liked, I revamped the sets though. Snover with protect is so it won't get screwed over by Wynaut, and it's a really good sponge + it still has enough to power to hit a lot of things with it's stabs. Larvesta is my physical def tank and my answer to fighters, I also use it to pivot and keep momentum going. Mienfoo provides amazing support w/ taunt helping me disable foongus, preventing dwebble, hippo, lileep, and other setters from getting rocks up, or even preventing slowpoke from recovering and U-turn out to trap it w/ stunky. Staryu is my spinner w/ the ORAS spread, Porygon is my answer to everything else lol. Stunky is my trapper, mainly for missy but really comes in handy vs anything else in low help that can feel threatened w/ Fire Blast and Sludge Bomb
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atomicllamas teams
This team was actually 0-2 this LCPL, but it went 5-0 last LCPL, so its pretty usable, its also very standard, was annoyed with the fat regen cores everyone was using last LCPL so I decided to use LO Dour which also takes advantage of people being less prepped for STAB Sucker Punch w/o Krow. Slow Volt Turn by Foo and Chou serve to get Abra / Dour in for free and potentially allow Missy to set up. Drilbur sets rocks and spins.
Standard sand balance core (Hippo + Dril + Lilleep) + Abra and Houndour as an emergency offense check and wall breaker respectively and then Timburr as Scraggy check. I actually lost to TCR cause I wasn't running 156+ Atk Timburr (standard) but I would have lost to Vileman w/o the extra defensive EVs so I'd call it a wash, with these EVs you counter Scraggy 100% w/o even needing a free switch in. Its pretty straight forward though just sand + my fave BW2 LC mon + Abra + Fighter that beats other fighters.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coconut / Tarn66 team
The team was generally built around two fast paced Pokemon in Doduo and Abra, who generally try to wallbreak for the sweepers of the team, Scraggy and Misdreavus. Porygon and Foongus are generally there to create havoc and allow the team to regain momentum by spreading status and giving the team switch-ins that cover multiple threats. Doduo is scarfed to maintain speed control and to check Scraggy, who can otherwise run though this team.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZoroarkForever teams
This team was designed around breaking fat teams by using multiple special sweepers that overload each others' checks. Scarf Mag aids in this goal by trapping steels and performing well against offense. In addition, it allows me to run Croagunk as my fighter (Ferro is trapped), which offers greater role compression against multiple threats. Aipom underrated in general, pairs well with Mag, and fares extremely well against offense, making it a perfect pick as a lastmon.
I built this team around Drifloon+Shellder. Drifloon breaks down walls with its strong Acro and status, allowing Shellder to sweep lategame. Scarf Pory is for sand and Misdreavus but can act as another potential wincon lategame. Drilbur provides hazard control. Bulky Mienfoo rounds out the squad as a Scraggy check that keeps momentum.
I built this team around (big surprise here) type spam! Misdreavus, Drifloon, and Shellder all share similar checks, weakening counters for the next to come in. Double ghost basically begs for hazard stack, since nothing is spinning vs them, so I added Dwebble for quick hazards. Scarf Mag traps steels and is good vs offense blah blah blah... Riolu is a good overall blanket check and helps vs Scraggy / smashers.
I built this team around Zorua+Zigzagoon. Scarf Scraggy was added next because it revenges Missy and is potent if Zorua lures its counters with Extrasensory / Knock. Dwebble gives quick hazards, Missy to spinblocker and break fat stuff. Cotton was added as a general gluemon to help vs offense. Memento helps Ziggy set up.
This team is my counterstyle to Vileman sand. I started with the core of Sunny Day Cottonee+Ponyta, which is very potent considering most people are fine saccing Hippo vs a non-Snover Natu team (it literally can't do anything vs Natu). Obviously Natu complements the dual fighter core by providing the hardest counter to Foongus available and keeps hazards away for Ponyta. I added Scarf Scraggy as an all-around cleaner and Missy revenge killer. Bulk Up Timburr seemed cool since I have smasher bait and Cotton won't last all match in BW. Chinchou rounds out the team by providing a flying resist and a Chou counter.
Pretty standard sand offense here. I started with the sand core of Hippo / Lileep / Drilbur, which is necessary for a good sand build. I added Tentacool next as a hard Snover check. It also freed up Drilbur to go SD 3 Atks. Next, I added ScarfFoo, since Scraggy offense is a terrible matchup for sand and ScarfFoo is the Scraggy revenge killer. Abra is a safety net vs runaway sweepers and works well with all the chip damage this team has.
FINALS is the best time to bust of the gimmicks. I built this team around Flying Gem SubPass Mienfoo + DD Scraggy, a tried and true core I came up with the day of our match. coconut is an known Foongus worshipper and AcroFoo effectively removes it, as well as other DD Scraggy checks (Gunk, Foo, Timburr), in one clean hit. SubPass is for extra shits and giggles, since offensive Foo forces a lot of switches and both LO Snover and Scraggy like free subs. Also blocks predicted status before your set is revealed. I added Croagunk next because I needed both a bulky fighter to check smashers and a fighting check. At this point, I needed SR and a flying resist, so I added a TMNTirtouga to my team (better than other rock-type SR setters b/c sheer bulk + priority). I opted for TrickScarf Misdreavus as my obligatory scarfer because it can revenge itself and I wanted to mix it up from my usual Taunt + NP Missy. Plus, Scarf Missy is a total monster vs offense and can be just as threatening to stall if needed thanks to Trick + NP. After choosing 5 mons for this heat squad, I noticed I was weak to sand, so I threw on the quickest fix: Snover. I chose +spe LO because it's like the Spanish Inquisition; no one expects it and it works surprisingly well (also gives another wallbreak to use with Mienfoo and another mon that can actually pressure Foongus.
