Moves
========
Substitute allows Grumpig to set up with Calm Mind on more passive Pokemon and avoid status moves that would cripple it, such as Toxic and Thunder Wave. Calm Mind makes Grumpig a potent setup sweeper and strengthens its wallbreaking capabilities, especially when combined with Substitute. Psyshock is used in order to beat other Calm Mind users such as Clefairy one-on-one. However, Psychic can also be used because it is slightly more powerful and helps with Curse Muk after it boosts. Focus Blast is used to hit the Dark- and Steel-types, such as Pawniard and Metang, that Grumpig's STAB move can't hit. Shadow Ball can be used over Substitute to beat other Psychic-types, but Substitute is generally better, as it gives Grumpig more chances to set up.

Set Details
========
The given Speed EVs and Timid nature are used to outspeed Adamant Monferno and Stoutland while also providing one extra Speed point. The remaining EVs maximize Grumpig's damage output and still allow it to tank some hits and be a better check to Pokemon such as Monferno. Thick Fat lets Grumpig check Fire- and Ice-types well. Leftovers is used to make up for some of the health Grumpig loses after using Substitute. Colbur Berry can be used over Leftovers to lure Cacturne and Pawniard in, take a hit, and hit them with a Focus Blast, but this should only be used if you run Shadow Ball, because otherwise, the passive recovery from Leftovers is better with Substitute. An alternative EV spread with maximum Speed and Special Attack EVs can be used to outspeed Smeargle and use Substitute on its Spore or Dark Void; it also allows Grumpig to outspeed Modest Articuno and tie with other positive-natured base 80 Speed Pokemon, such as Arbok. However, it loses the bulk that allows it to set up Substitutes and check Fire- and Ice-types.

Usage Tips
========
The ideal Pokemon for Grumpig to set up on are those that can't break its Substitute, such as Clefairy, Mr. Mime locked into Psychic, and Cryogonal. It should switch into these Pokemon to try to set up a Substitute, but be careful that they don't predict the switch and go for a status move such as Thunder Wave or Trick, crippling Grumpig. Grumpig threatens Pokemon such as Muk and forces them to switch out; this is another great time to set up Substitute. This Grumpig set should be used to wallbreak, as it annoys Pokemon like Clefairy and paves the way for cleaners such as Dodrio. However, it can also sweep bulkier teams late-game. Utilize Substitute to avoid status moves like Toxic, to scout for what move Pokemon like Choice Specs Beheeyem go for, and to dodge Sucker Punch from the likes of Cacturne and Pawniard. This set outspeeds Adamant Monferno, but watch out for Jolly U-turn Monferno, which can weaken Grumpig greatly.

Team Options
========
Grumpig is best used on balance or bulky offense teams as a wallbreaker or a secondary sweeper that provides defensive utility with Thick Fat. Pursuit from Stoutland or Metang, as well as Trapinch's Arena Trap, can trap, weaken, and KO the bulky Psychic-types, such as opposing Grumpig, that wall it. Entry hazard support, especially Toxic Spikes from the likes of Roselia, synergizes well with Substitute and helps Grumpig wallbreak. Grumpig's ability to check Fire- and Ice-types makes Pokemon that are weak to these types, such as Leafeon, Golem, and Regice, good teammates. Grumpig has to rely on winning mind games and hitting Focus Blast to take on Dark-types, so partners that beat them, such as Clefairy and Monferno, are much appreciated. Setup sweepers such as Grumpig and fast cleaners such as Dodrio and Chatot are great partners because Grumpig breaks down walls such as Metang and Mawile for them.

  • Substitute allows Grumpig to set up with Calm Mind on more passive Pokemon and avoid status moves that would cripple it, such as Toxic or Thunder Wave.
  • Calm Mind makes Grumpig a potent set-up sweeper, especially when combined with Substitute.
  • Psyshock can be used in order to beat other Calm Mind users such as Clefairy 1v1, but Psychic is Grumpig's most powerful STAB move and helps with Curse Muk after it boosts. your description makes psychic sound like the better option, but it's the second slash and the writeup should reflect that it's a slightly inferior option
  • Focus Blast is used to hit Dark- and Steel-types, such as Pawniard and Metang, that Grumpig's STAB can't hit.
  • Shadow Ball can be used over Substitute to beat other Psychic-types, but Substitute is generally better as it gives Grumpig more chances to set up.

  • The given speed EVs and Timid nature are used to outspeed Adamant Monferno and Stoutland while also hitting a jump point in Speed. The remaining EVs maximize Grumpig's damage output and still allow it to tank some hits and be a better check to Pokemon such as Monferno.
  • Thick Fat is one of the main reasons to use Grumpig, as it lets it check Fire- and Ice-types well.
  • Leftovers are used to negate some of the damage Grumpig inflicts to itself using Substitute.
  • Colbur Berry can be used over Leftovers to lure Cacturne and Pawniard, but this should only be used if Shadow Ball is also being used because otherwise, the passive recovery from Leftovers is better with Substitute.
I believe running max speed timid is relevant enough for this to mention in set details

Usage Tips
========
  • The ideal Pokemon for Grumpig to set up on are those that can't break its Substitute. Examples of these are Clefairy, Mr. Mime locked into Psychic, and Cryogonal. It should switch into these Pokemon and try to set up a Substitute.
  • Grumpig threatens Pokemon such as Muk and forces them to switch out; this is another great time to set up Substitute.
  • This Grumpig set should be used to sweep late-game when Grumpig's checks, like other bulky Psychic-types, have been weakened. it can also be used earlier to abuse and weaken walls like clefairy if they annoy ur teammates
  • Utilize Substitute to avoid status moves like Toxic, to scout for what move Pokemon like Choice Band Stoutland go for, and to dodge Sucker Punch from the likes of Cacturne and Pawniard.
  • This set outspeends Adamant Monferno, but watch out for Jolly U-turn Monferno, which can weaken Grumpig greatly with U-turn.

Team Options
========
  • Best on balance or bulky offense as a wincon
  • Pursuit (stoutland, pawniard) + trapinch trap and beat bulky psychics / things that beat psychics not sure what the slash is for, pursuit is just for taking out bulky psychics that wall non/Sball variants no?
  • Toxic Spikes (roselia) / Spikes in general mention why
  • Appreciate ability to check Fire and Ice types, specifically Monferno (grass-types like leafeon and tangela, ground types like Golem + Stunfisk, Ice types like Regice).
  • Can take on Darks for it (Clefairy, Monferno)
  • strong wallbreakers such as Dodrio and Chatot to help Grumpig sweep (remove this section because too general?) remove not because it's too general, but this doesn't really require wallbreaking. it beats most walls, the set is actually designed to abuse walls like clefairy and stunfisk. if anything I'd mention faster cleaners that like grumpig's breaking. The analysis consistently describes CM grumpig as a sweeper in its own right rather than a strong breaker that can abuse things like clef but isn't exactly a consistent cleaner with its speed and susceptibility to things like leafeon and floatzel, and most of the check here revolves around fixing that notion (aside from random nitpicks). If you disagree then PM me about it, but I'd change anything implying grumpig is more of a sweeper than a breaker with above average defensive utility
some specific stuff to handle but nothing that should be too much of an issue

The ideal Pokemon for Grumpig to set up on are those that can't break its Substitute. Examples of these are Clefairy, Mr. Mime locked into Psychic, and Cryogonal. It should switch into these Pokemon and try to set up a Substitute Be more clear with this, as you dont necessarily want to switch pig into clef and possibly take a twave. Grumpig threatens Pokemon such as Muk and forces them to switch out; this is another great time to set up Substitute. This Grumpig set should be used to wallbreak, as because it annoys Pokemon like Clefairy and paves the way for cleaners such as Dodrio. However, it can also sweep bulkier teams late game. Utilize Substitute to avoid status moves like Toxic, to scout for what move Pokemon like Choice Band Stoutland go for use a different example than stoutland cuz some run Jolly, and to dodge Sucker Punch from the likes of Cacturne and Pawniard. This set outspeeds Adamant Monferno, but watch out for Jolly U-turn Monferno, which can weaken Grumpig greatly.

Grumpig is best on balance or bulky offense teams as a wallbreaker, or a secondary wincon, that provides defensive utility in Thick Fat. Pursuit from Stoutland or Pawniard use a more standard example than pawn imo, as well as Trapinch's Arena Trap, can trap, weaken, and KO the bulky Psychic-types, such as opposing Grumpig, that wall it. Hazard support, especially Toxic Spikes from the likes of Roselia, synergizes well with Substitute and helps Grumpig wallbreak. Its ability to check Fire- and Ice-types makes Pokemon that are weak to these types, such as Leafeon, Golem, and Regice, good teammates. Grumpig has to rely on winning 50/50s and hitting Focus Blast to take on Dark-types, so partners that beat Dark-types, such as Clefairy and Monferno, are much appreciated. Finally, fast cleaners, such as Dodrio and Chatot, appreciate the breaking that Grumpig provides. It is able to wear down checks to these cleaners such as Metang and Mawile. You can merge these two sentences and say 'Set up sweepers and fast cleaner such as..'
